damn them.... I knew there wouldn't be a ls T-T stupid me even mentioned that in my second post I think I jinxed it
lost all hope of anything else tbh
how can Dan not mention AP 10 anniversary and Phil not do anything for it on yt is beyond me
Idk if it should be clasified as awfully modest or awfully lazy

I want that egg omg.

Re: fanservice
as long as it doesn't look vulgar I'm okay with it not being super genuine. They're incredibly aware of their audience and the camera so it would be hard to say which interractions are truly honest so I rather just enjoy when they are cute or blatantly mocking the fans i.e Dan touching Phil's heart and looking at the camera

types of fanservice I dont like are a yt saying they've touched the other person's butt/crotch or even doing it in camera or pretending to kiss in the thumbnail but they are not the type to do that

Don't get me wrong, any content is better than none, and they do almost always make anything entertaining, but i want to watch them play something they're good at every so often. Or failing that, more DvP. BUT! Instead of Phil always taking the "all or nothing" I'd rather see them do a best of 5.

Dan & Phil possibly queerbaiting has been heavily discussed in the past. I'm gonna wait for a few more people to voice their opinion on this before I do because I'd probably base my arguments on similar things I'm basing my fanservice arguments on right now.

You're right, Deppy don't script everything they say and a lot of their videos are based on reacting to things (games, pictures, food, each other). Still, they've both talked about writing scripts before. If they only write scripts for their more sketch-like videos and if e.g. gaming videos are completely unscripted is up for discussion. But I don't think they just innocently sit down in front of their PC and wait for things to happen. There have been cases were it seemed like they already knew what was going to happen in the game so they could react accordingly. Also, you're not watching two guys play videos in real time. Their videos are heavily edited (more than the ones of most other "gamers", not counting PewDiePie) so anything that they might not want their audience to see can be cut out.
This could also include failed attempts at fanservice, where they e.g. started laughing or it was too obvious the moment had been scripted. But I'm entering conspiracy theorist territory again, lol.
I guess the discussion moved a bit already so putting it under spoiler :)
I agree - as I written in previous post I think that part is natural reaction and part is fanservice, but the point I was trying to say about fanservice as such being good/bad (with regards to queerbaiting, that is the point for me) was more that even the parts that are fanservice I just don't feel like stamping as queerbaiting. idk if that makes sense, I hope it does :) I just think that their fanservice is build upon their natural behavior/reactions around each other. yes there are parts where reacting is very exaggerated or played up for the viewer and yes the editing is heavy but is it heavy to decide what and how to share or heavy to just put there parts to help to sell them? I think (hope) it's more the first - trying to make an entertaining video while not making it too personal/revealing and yet still appear personal, hence where all the acting up parts are generated (and yes that then helps to sell, but I don't want to think that sale is all their are thinking about when editing, I rather think that they are trying to make it entertaining and appearing personal but that is still based on the way they honestly interact with each other cause it just shows - comparing them on screen from the very first vid and them doing collabs). I mean yes there are parts that feel just so acted up that I cringe (like that touch my hand one ) but in general I don't feel anything 'just selling out' behind it (yet). So yes, they decide what and how they let us see something, but especially based upon games where they enjoy the game (and they decide not to edit parts out) and ls, I don't worry about the fanservice being a bad thing (yet) :)

Maybe Phil's family is over at their place. They would probably sleep on Phil's room, I think.

TBH the 10 year anniversary thing annoys me because we already celebrated it. I wish we had celebrated it only once, yesterday.

And I don't know about fanservice...I guess almost every time they're on camera it is a kind of fanservice, isn't it? I think them touching and saying ~weird~ things is them being themselves, but playing it up 500% for the camera, for us, the fans. So it is fanservice. But it's not bad. I don't know.

Hey y'all i don't have much to add but it's great that you guys moved, i only read on the gg threads but with the stuff that has happened lately the ambient was quite... tense (with abusive mods and all), and not very inviting tbh.

Anyways, on the video. I'd like to think that they're aware of what we, the fans, think of the content they put up.
I mean, it has been discussed the constantly used "Phil shows Dan a flash game and Dan reacts to it" format.
And now they have actually stated at the begining of the video that yes, it is a flash game and now it's Dan teaching
phil a game. I really like it when they something slightly different. i'm so easy

Also, i'm so jelous they get sent such amazing stuff!

I really loved the new video, but I like all videos where they are stupidly giddy. I'm half and half with the flash games: I love the Christmas DvP & Can Your Pet? (more unpopular opinion ever?) , but hated shopping simulator & chimbot. :x

[offtopic]shezza, we had the same knee-jerk Google reaction, I think. I was happy to discover a street I once walked down regularly in Oxford used to be called Gropecunt Lane. Bwahahaha. Thank you, Dan. P.S. He completely said cunt, not cock. :D

A huge thank you to those who are setting this all up, I really hope we never return to GG. [/offtopic]

My hp: they are in London, if they were alread somewhere else we wouldn't have the film review. Also super jealous of that egg.

Regarding Phil's yt 10 years: I would have expected something from him, when the Phandom celebrated early on the year I remember that Phil joined with something like " Oh, it seems that.." Now instead he was one of the firsts to acknowledge the day. The fact tha Dan ignored that prompt is suspicious... :geek:
Now I don't pretend something super complicated but a special "try new things" would have done the job.
But maybe ,as Phil is used to long celebrations, something will came out later on?

I am not impress at first with the egg Dan shows, then I realise Dan has big hands! That egg must have been incredibly massive. Now, I'm a bit hungry.

Sad for no easter baking and no 10 year celebration. :( Maybe they are saving the celebration for engagement vid uploaded on 1st April? Or maybe they are crafting for easter?

dont mind me, im just a sad snowflake with no easter theme video

I was watching their Undertale video's again and ended up at Chimbot. I really wish they'd have gotten the same thing Jacksepticeye did. His reaction to Dan and Phil getting married was hilarious.

Does anybody else find it amusing that whenever shipping is brought up, most YouTubers go for Dan and Phil?

Saddened there is no Easter baking, but I wasn't expecting it to be honest. I'd be more shocked if we don't have a Halloween baking video this year.

Thank you for this lovely website! I only discovered GG last week and became addicted to reading the D & P thread, so this has come at a great time for me.

I loved Can Your Pet too! Although it's mostly because I love seeing those glimpses of "emotional Dan" underneath his cold hard exterior. I could not deal with Christmas shopping simulator, too much body horror.

Hi guys! I found this website through browsing the board that said GG was down also.
There were so many new pages when i got here! I'm almost caught up though. I think that this will be a nice switch from GG. It was already weird being on a trashing website when we're not even really trashing. I wonder how new people will find our forum though...
It's really nice to see some of the old posters come back though! As someone who has read all of the old threads, I was already a big fan of you all when i joined (hey Winterbury!)
In terms of fan service, I agree with corn flakes; I usually don't see it. I also agree that it is Phil who usually initiates it when we do see it. With comments like: 'feel my sweaty hand', 'feel my heart beat'. I wonder if he is trying to play into the fan service? What's interesting though is though those moments are gifed and made a big deal out of, I never see them as a big deal. Feeling someone's sweaty hand isn't that coupley (i wonder if we can get a shrugging emoticon...)
I also think that D+P can't help acting how they do act. Even in 2012 when they were distinctively trying not to seem coupley, some of the most coupley live stream moments emerged. So no, I do not think that they are putting on an act per say. I think it is just how they interact when they are talking directly to each other.

They might not be in London. That GoT egg (unless it was super-specially couriered to them) won't have arrived today.

Low. Hanging. Fruit.

I just had a thought. What if D&P are taking the Grace/Chester approach?

I enjoyed it because it was funny watching Phil being a wind-up merchant.

Hello ladies! :D
It's lovely to see a forum where the Moderators aren't allowed full reign to do whatever they please.
I've posted my own account of what happened with my ban on GG in the "what happened to GG?" thread, hope that's ok? If not i'll delete it immediately :).
Right, time to watch the new D&P gaming vid.

Hi, guys!

This forum looks great! It feels unnatural not to have a place that doesn't crash every minute or so. It's amazing how fast you've moved!

I had registered on GG less than two weeks ago so nobody knows me but hello! I'm glad I kept on reading the comments at the GG blog. Thank you so much to everyone who's contributed to making this!

I'm one of the ones that was dissapointed when they saw the thumbnail but ended thoroughly enjoying the video. Now I want to play that game! I had never heard about it because it wasn't a thing where I live, don't judge me :?

I had played it before but can't remember the answers as it was a long time ago. I made my boyfriend play it tonight and literally lol'd at him because he couldn't get any further than number 1! the a polo thing is because there are 4 holes in the words "a polo", in the a, p & 2 o's

It'll be interesting to see if they do play it again - I hope they do, there was also a second quiz if I remember rightly, maybe they'll also try that too!

For me it's like someone said before, how many holes are there in a polo shirt? One for the neck, two for the arms and the other one

Thoughts on this post on phantaray?
► Honestly if people don't like D&P's content they should just stop watching them. Whether they make crappy face-swap challenges or isg's people still love them bc they are funny, weird and relatable and amazing. Youtube is created for people to post anything they like so I don't get why they should be criticized for their content. The whole thing of posting 'good content' completely ruins the whole point of Youtube. So I say D&P should keep doing what they're doing
Personally, I'm a little bit  , but I also find myself agreeing a little bit. Of course I like constructive criticism, but i definitely feel this way when people get super all or nothing, or snobby about D+P's content.

I'm not directing this at any of the users here.
I'm mostly thinking of phantaray, and what a negative place it is.

I love playing flash games myself so I don't mind them playing those, but depends on the game - loved 'can you pet' as well :) (I mean last night I discovered 'rusty lake's' games and damn that 'cube escape: birthday' one messed up my brain honestly. that story  I wouldn't mind and would love to see them playing something short and creepy like that for halloween. They honestly don't have to play long games if maybe they fear that it will eat up a lot of their time to film and edit. There are short games with good stories too. Maybe it's just me enjoying creepy games like Silent Hill PT. Although I enjoy the reactions to suspense, I agree with people that already mentioned it - I need less screaming from Dan - it hurts my ears... :D
