I do know what you mean, but can we really be trying to out them considering we're just here, in our own little corner, bouncing ideas around about a tour bus layout and trying to work out which they've got?

The thing is, many of us have mentioned multiple times that even if they are platonic it would make complete sense to share a bed so I don't think anyone's taking potential bed sharing as phan poof in this context. Their weird tweeting about it is another thing and is just arousing suspicion to those who may not already have had any imo, but frankly that's something they've done themselves by actively posting and being odd, that's not us being extra

Anyway even if we were to have confirmation that they were completely non-platonically bed sharing (which will never happen) I don't think anyone has any interest in 'outing' them. We're just talking shit in our own little community, its not like anyone would be haranguing them about it directly or even taking it to any other platforms. I like to think the vast, vast majority on here are sensible and sensitive adults (or close to) who know better than that.

I suppose, mainly, we're looking to find out what the bus layout is. Like it can be that simple, too, just silly curiousity magnified by D&P bringing everyone's attention to the bus situation. It's not about phan proofing (we could have an actual picture of Dan sleeping on the roof as Phil lounges on a queen-sized bed wanking to a Buffy comix & I'd still be pretty firm on what I percieve the Phan situation to be) for me so much as it's simply about watching my objects of interest do a thing. We're rather used to them being holed up in their apartment, so it's kinda fascinating to see how they behave in the wild, how they navigate the public perception of that (the tweets weren't a smart move, for instance, now everyone and their brother is talking about the bus bedroom situation whereas it'd likely have been kept more low-key otherwise) and how they deal with living in the public eye far more than they've had to for years, for months and months. #busgate is just a lense through which we can view that now. Sure, being able to headcanon about nightime cuddling through it is fun, too, but that's hardly all there's to it. Because no matter what "proof" we dig up, the phandom culture has been set up so that no proof is great enough not to be debunked. The only sure-fire way to confirm anything is theirs. As it should be. But we're bored (so little content, so spoiled), curious and excited by our own collective abilities to entertain ourselves as a community. At least imo. :)
I totally agree with your explanation!!
The last sentence is .

for me the sherlocking in itself is fun, i took it as a challenge, 'i can and will find their specific buses SPECIALLY if they are trying to throw us off, watch me' and i kind of did so now i'm at peace with myself lol, it goes hand in hand with why i enjoy over analyzing dan (and phil when he allows it, and like, everything else i have an interest in like tv shows and books lol)

and i'm obviously also curious and nosy and i want to know as much about their life as possible, wouldn't be here if i wasn't
also to this. It does sort of rub people the wrong way, especially here where most of us feel like we want to have rational discussions, and we feel like we do most of the time, so someone calling us out can seem unjustified/aggressive... but I think a lot of us do occasionally need to think about the broader perspective of things, so it's good to have that opinion spoken. As long as it is in a respectful and humble manner. Everyone is much happier here when we feel respected, obviously, so you're likely to get a more enthusiastic response if you treat them that way.

"Phan" itself is one of the most interesting conspiracies ever. Everything they have done, everything they have said, their slip-ups, denials it all accumulate to ambiguity. The ambiguity is what makes me so interested, not because i believe there is anything ambiguous about their relationship but that they can convince so many. From the start they have handled their relationship well and they have conditioned a huge group of people into believe things as clearcut as the vday video were a prank. Even though their excuses do defy logic many still fall into the trap. Hell, they make me question myself everyday. They are two well-developed versions of their actual selves. They use this platonic friendship, they sell it to us, but than we want to know if there is more. We have more evidence and proof that there is more opposed to not but we cant't say indefinitely one way or another.

For 6 years they have managed to keep us invested. Even when they started, people were questioning the nature of the relationship and even now we are still in the same situation. they give us the least amount of information than any other youtubers yet we are the most invested. This whole dynamic between the phans and deppy is what makes me so interested in knowing everything they do. i want to know every plan, every business endeavor, every denial because it gives me some perspective on their capabilities of handling this crazy world that is the Phandom. Anyway this was super rambly and doesn't make any sense but yea

i don't mean just in a sexuality sense, though. the desire to either prove them wrong or find out some secret info crosses a line at times imo. even trying to insist that they could be sharing a bed and it being platonic is odd, it's strange to try so hard to prove that both (large) men must be sharing a small bed, regardless of the reason

It's not our business to discuss the sleeping arrangements, or phan, or their dating history, or their friend circle, or Dan's fashion spending habits, or their finances, or their business ventures, or their hair stylists, or their IRL whereabouts, or their family life, or their sexuality, or their anime choices, or a large variety of things.
But we do.
Why?
Because we're nosy. Because this is a gossip site. Because we are curious. Because they don't give us enough content to satiate our desire for a peek into their lives.
And because D&P aren't just musicians or actors or models or whathaveyou.
Their entire celebrity is due to sharing parts of their lives with us. With being our friends we've never met.
And in doing so, we have all become invested in their lives as we would someone we actual know.
And that causes us to want to know more. To know all of them.
Yes, we are not entitled to know anything they do not wish to share with us.
But that's not going to stop our curiosity.
So as long as we're not literally tracking down and posting their home addresses or bothering them while they try to have dinner with their friends, or harassing their families, or generally putting them in harms way, what are we hurting by discussing and theorizing?

Also, 2 snaps to the girl who did the weakest link pose during the meet and greet. That is hilarious!

Yeah fair point, I always forget how many people lurk here. Ironic given my username.

I do think you've got to add in the context of who we're talking about here as to why we seem to be curious/suspicious about this kind of thing, cos lbr they've got history on it. Understandable history, but history none the less.

Aside from which, when the content is thin on the ground, we'll find find something to amuse ourselves with. Its a beautiful trait of IDB (and the phandom generally tbh) which I find rather impressive lol

I don't think we're trying to "insist" anything, I think we put the idea out there; but, of course, everyone knows that we don't know for sure whether they're sharing a bed, platonically or otherwise.
I'm not sure whether we've actually shared any "secret" information here. (correct me if I'm wrong) All of the information that we've come across since coming to this site has been public, and posting anything private or offensive is against the rules anyway. I don't know, I just find all of this conversation to be pretty much harmless, because we don't have a bad intent... we're just curious people.
I do agree that the fact that we're older doesn't change anything, and I agree that our interest in details of their lives is "odd," but overall harmless.
[offtopic]
I forgot to say this earlier, but I had a weird caffeine-spurred dream last night that I was trapped in D+P's office, struggling to escape, and all I had was my phone... and nobody that I knew was responding to me because of the completely different time zone in the UK... the computers didn't work, so I tried messaging IDB people on twitter but nobody believed that I was in D+P's office, so I had to take pictures and look around for other "proof" and it was just an anxious, confusing mess of a dream that I hope I'll never have again. :?

edit 2 (lol) - just touching on the age thing as lilMango's post reminded me. I was trying to make reference to the maturity of the discussions here (when they're serious ones - debating D size aside lolz) which are often drastically more measured and reasonable than I've seen on other platforms. Apologies if that wasn't clear.
