I remember there was an explanation although I don't remember it completely. Something about him just having an irritable neck/skin that turns red easily? I think they're smart enough at this point not to give each other hickies ESPECIALLY while they're doing M&Gs every 5 minutes lol.

Sadly enough, I think the main reason is Dan being the typical sexy boy, and Phil not being the type of pretty that attracts preteen or teen audience

as missemma said, i just wish he would make videos about his actual life, his life is much more interesting than pretending to be stuck being an average 20 year old in college (says me, an average 20 year old in college), i'm pretty sure he could make some hilarious skits about meetings or making videos for spon deals or having to attend youtuber events and ~socialize~ or being on tour living in a bus in another country for two months

trying to make his life relatable is becoming every second more difficult and forced and i don't enjoy it at all, but his personality is still relatable, if he made videos about stuff that is relevant to his life right now i would enjoy it more in a 'lol same, if i was a famous youtuber' way

I feel like this video might be really divisive. Some will love it, some may hate it.

I'm not too sure what I feel about it yet. I certainly don't love it because that's the thing that I'd know immediately. Most probably it falls into "meh, quite ok" category for me.

I can sort of see where the opinions that it was rushed may stem from; the structure felt choppy and illogical at parts, like he didn't think it through properly so the story arc (lol) of the video ended up being a little bit all over the place for me. And I didn't laugh or even smile at some of the things that were supposed to make me smile, eg Sherlock references or him cramming all the paper into his giant mouth.
BUT, and it's a giant but, there were some parts that did make me smile. For example, I replayed the periodic table song about 10 times. I love singing Dan apparently

Also, I enjoyed his self-depreciating remarks. Especially the "am i really gonna make this joke" comment about drop the base scene because to me it felt quite genuine. The speech at the end (watch me or I'll starve) was also nice in the sense that this was his way, slightly too little too late but still, of acknowledging the irony in him giving the advice. So that's good. However, he msised the mark of why exactly it is ironic, at least to me.

To break it down. My reasoning: he has nothing to do with school and exams at this stage of his life, he is a 25 college dropout who is now totally loaded and makes this video to stay reletable and helpful to his younger audience. His reasoning (or rather the one that that he's willing to reveal): I have only youtube to fall back on because I sucked at education haha, please love and help me, I'm a fail. No. Youtube isn't even remotely the only thing he has going on right now. He's a full on businessman and I'm not sure him trying to hide that sits right with me. So basically eevee I feel you on that, you're not the only one

Wow, that became a tangent. So, just to repeat, the video as a whole was quite nice

I didn't like the first minute but then the was better. I like the sketchs, I like knowing more about the; "I want to learn"; bully story, I was like wtf "the period table is chemestry no physics you idiot!".

I'm kind of surprised that he took the time to do sketches and I appreciate that, but other than that, that was bland as fuck for an unfortunately big portion of the time, and it didn't have to be. Like even if he's gonna go down the helpful uncle Dan path, which I'm fine with, he's in a position of not having to repeat every generic thing that google tells you if you spend 2 minutes researching. Like if he wants to be helpful, he should tell people that it's okay to not be sure where you're heading & that taking a gap year might send you on an incredible path, that dropping out isn't the end of the world, that your degree isn't your worth...

Idk, is there a middle 20s crisis known to happen to college drop outs second-guessing their choices & therefore clinging onto HS success/accomplishments? Because me wants to do some armchair psychology, almost.

Just gonna hope it looked the way it did because Tour and Crusty Sponge, but yeah, the most interesting bits to me where the phan-proofy ones, which isn't ideal. Speaking of which, that mark on his neck is so not a nervousness reddening. Now, I'm not saying it's from a collar, either, but he looked rather perky in that bed. Ehm.
