Actually now that I think about it, that is a really good question. What do you all think those two talk all day long?

I can't even begin to imagine what they're talking about but I assume they can tell each other everything, both random shit and important stuff. And actually when I think about their normal days in the apartment I'm picturing a lot of very domestic natural silence and them sitting in the same room or in neighbouring rooms each going about his own business and only making a random comment here and there but just enough to still maintain some contact all the time if that makes sense. In my head they're so close that they don't have to talk to each other all the time and silence doesn't seem wierd at all, y'know?

We know, actually, about one time that Dan explained the sound barrier to Phil. It was also in a (gaming?) video they did together, so this makes me wonder how many times it comes up in normal conversation versus being inspired by things going on in videos.

yes it was at a gaming video indeed, i cannot remember which one now but i'm guessing they only talked about it that one time and now in this video but dan sorta rounded it up or misremembered or sth and said they talked about it three times (or maybe not we will never know ) i find it funny tho that phil wants to keep referring to dan being loud and just uses the wrong scientific phenomenon and says "i don't know science things" and then dan goes:"okay just remove sound barrier from your vocabulary, okay" i would expect an even snazzier, more precise term from dan, where's your "lexicon"?! but maybe that'd be up phil the english linguistics major's alley

- Dan licking his lips and saying "pals" before the one
- Dan's facial expressions during the "ferry" one
- Louise's facial expression when she was intensely shouting out the "sherry" variations
- Phil singing the Super Mario Egyptian level music to his snake
- Dan doing a candle-lighting mime for the "fire brigade" one... Phil and his candles...

By the way, I've watched again the video and...doesn't it seem like Phil actively avoids to look at Dan's face? I've noticed it in most of their videos together (except from PINOF?), but in this particular video it's very noticeable: he looks at Louise almost all the time, but at Dan? only with the arm touching thing?

Yeah that's the same mental picture I have of them. I think they got over the words/eye contact limit, like they don't even need words or to look at each other to understand what the other is thinking/ doing most of the time and I find it so heart warming and nice to have this type of connection with someone. I also can imagine that some days Phil is more bubbly than usual and just rants about his plants or random things and Dan just listens to him and sometimes gives little responses to keep Phil talking while giving one of his famous heart eyes look (this just made me remember that conversation between from one of their gaming videos in which Phil said that he didn't saw Dan for 10 hours so he wanted to quickly tell him what he wanted)

YAAAASS, comfortable silence is my shit like that's how you know when a friend or significant other is worth keeping around lol.

But seriously, I do picture them doing this as well. It just suits them, neither likes being alone but they do appreciate space. So they kinda go through life together, not necessarily always engaging with each other and definitely not being all up in each other's business, just being there together and being comfortable with each other.

I'm Phan af, but Phil does try to avoid looking at Dan, it's not something tumblr has made up. This video is cute and I liked it a lot, but Phil is looking at Louise all the time, all his explanations are directed only (or mostly) at her. I've noticed he doesn't generally look at Dan much when they are in their usual collabs or gaming videos, but that doesn't happen when he is with other people (see Hazel, Caspar, Louise collabs). It's like the thing Phil does in photos where he puts his arm around everyone except for Dan.

Oh, and I forgot to add that Dan got his osmosis explanation wrong (osmosis has nothing to do with cells fusing, but with water circulating in or out of membranes). That was my 'trust me, I'm a biologist' contribution to the thread.

I was so happy Phil left in the whole knee to the boob thing and seemed chill about it, in stark contrast to his somewhat negative reaction to Louise's "don't touch my stomach or my tits" comment in the NWW vid (maybe bc 'tits' sounds more crude? idk).
Also loved Dan's acknowledgement at 3:25 of how Phil always makes something sound like it's gonna be dirty but then brings it back to a more ~innocent~ meaning. Troll Phil

Also wondering if the inclusion of the Little Mermaid was deliberate? Just because the clip of Dan's smile disappearing when Phil said he had a crush on the Little Mermaid (in a collab w PJ) is often cited as a ~jealous Dan~ example and they seem to be aware of all that goes on in the phandom. Can't tell if they decided to put that in the vid as a nod to the little inside jokes in the phandom or if it truly was a coincidence

I was watching it while waiting for my train home and I swear the person next to me heard Louise screaming in my earplugs and got kind of scared. And I might have lost some hearing capacity as well.

I don't see this as proof of anything necessarily. I think he's just hyper-aware of how much people freak out if they so much as lay a finger on each other and doesn't want to be accused of soft homo fanservice or ''giving people the wrong idea.'' It doesn't take much with the Phandom tbh..I saw someone on the video who commented ''OMG PHIL TOUCHED DAN'S ARM'' and I wanted to break things. I have never been in a fandom with so little chill, and I was a Panic! at the Disco fan as a teenager (to this day, people refuse to let go of their ''Ryden was real'' conspiracy theories.)
