I'm Phan af, but Phil does try to avoid looking at Dan, it's not something tumblr has made up. This video is cute and I liked it a lot, but Phil is looking at Louise all the time, all his explanations are directed only (or mostly) at her. I've noticed he doesn't generally look at Dan much when they are in their usual collabs or gaming videos, but that doesn't happen when he is with other people (see Hazel, Caspar, Louise collabs). It's like the thing Phil does in photos where he puts his arm around everyone except for Dan.

I don't see this as proof of anything necessarily. I think he's just hyper-aware of how much people freak out if they so much as lay a finger on each other and doesn't want to be accused of soft homo fanservice or ''giving people the wrong idea.'' It doesn't take much with the Phandom tbh..I saw someone on the video who commented ''OMG PHIL TOUCHED DAN'S ARM'' and I wanted to break things. I have never been in a fandom with so little chill, and I was a Panic! at the Disco fan as a teenager (to this day, people refuse to let go of their ''Ryden was real'' conspiracy theories.)

I don't see this as proof of anything either! (even though I'm phan af). What I find strange is that Phil would refrain from doing such innocent things as looking at Dan or putting his arm around him in a photo (things that no one would seriously point at as proof of anything) but then there are those artificial fan service moments in some videos (you know, the ones that are often followed by Dan's office stares). It puzzles me a bit. If they actively give us a bit of fan service (which they do) and know that these moments will end up giffed and reblogged on tumblr (which they also do) why not make it more natural?

Phil strikes me as someone who is protective/private with his relationship with dan. Every touch, look and interaction is somewhat controlled an the only time we see that crack is a LAP video, or when he's drunk or energetic. He is uncomfortable with dan because dan is the only person where his natural interaction might get him in trouble. We know how touchy he was in the beginning (watch Pinof1) but now it's much more difficult to tackle the boy to the ground and not have every phandom member faint

I'm only just now catching up on this thread, what was this fiasco about? Something about nail polish and cute smiles?

On another note, this video was filled with those cute moments that I kept pausing and replaying 15 times before moving on. I don't know if it was just me being in the moment, but at the "we could accidentally tough Phil's butt at any moment" "or not on accident" "(wink)" I took a moment to just sit and be like, woah there. Looking back on it, maybe it honestly pretty joking and not a big deal.
Regardless, this may be one of my favorite ever collabs. Phil wasn't overshadowed in this one (which is good, considering it's his channel )

Omg yes every time I see Phil touch Louise's face or get super close to her (which he does a few times) I get literal shivers. He does that type of thing to people he adores, you can just tell, and you can also tell that he physically restrains himself from doing that to Dan. He even admitted his touchiness in voldy but I won't get into that
So every time he does that in a video I get all fuzzy and warm inside. Idk I find it really cute. Yeah, it's a bit childish but it's not like he does that to complete strangers, just to people that he finds special to him which is really sweet. When it comes to Louise, though, I can tell she doesn't like being invaded like that. She puts up with it pretty well though... maybe because she has a kid who does the same thing.
I'm getting a bit rambly! when am I not rambly? But in my opinion, Phil didn't avoid looking at Dan in this particular video... I think he just looked at Louise more because she was his guest, and as I explained before he obviously finds her special and nice and wants to control make sure she feels comfortable and happy at all times.
I also feel like this is true because Phil zoomed in on Dan's face quite a lot, suggesting he did find his facial expressions funny and would have laughed if he had seen them.

About the earlier discussion about youtubers having responsibility about how the fans act: agree completly with daphenaxa For the most part the fans aren't doing anything wrong, it's just that they are young and excitable. I know that when I was 14/15 I would freak out anytime a celebrity or whoever I liked would respond well to what their fans were doing, so it really is a question of time.

It's not hurting anyone. And there really is no need for Dan and Phil to "guide" their fans and ask them to stop that kind of stuff.

I was so mad this morning when I saw Louise's tweets about losing the footage. Like others said, why tweet about it and let people down?! Very annoying. But oh well... Then Phil tweeted he was uploading a video and I forgot about it lol (but please, Louise, find it!).

Phil's video = the best. I was afraid of what was to come because of Louise's NWW that was a bit weird, I'm glad my fear was wrong. It was so funny and they all looked very confortable Loved it!

This is definitely one to watch a lot more times and that's what I'm doing right now, bye!

Sometimes I wish a tv channel would do a reality tv series "The Simple Life" style where youtubers have to do normal jobs for a week. Some of them never have, and the ones that have seem to have forgotten what it's like. Come on, keeping your footage somewhere you can find it is the bare minimum of doing your job

I really loved this video, it was hilarious. Which is odd for me because I usually find people acting things out like this really awkward.

Anyways, loved the vid! It was def a trillion times better and funnier than NWW, this is the kind of thing they should go for if they plan to do more vids together in the future. The "unplanned" vids (but more like random because yt collabs must be the most planned things ever) doesn't really work out when two are too loud to make a conversation and one is too polite to interrupt. Each having a turn and a chance to respond makes the whole thing more balanced. Also appreciated the "this is so loud" and "we're all having different conversations" a lot

Phan trash and all but I sooo loved that moment when Phil touched Louise's cheek lowkey ship them and I think Dan does too a bit xD

I'll rewatch this one a lot of times, still a bit upset at louise for missing the footage for the other one, I guess that's the one they got their hands or faces all messy with glitter I think? (can't remember which body part but for sure Phil mentioned something like this). I'll be forever mourning it :')
