It is very strange, especially considering it's already on the channel in full version from - as you said - two years ago. They basically just clipped out part and reuploaded it.

he looks so young here, wow. also you just prompted me to look up the video on his channel - it's an outtake from 'fandoms' which is one of my favourites from that era and now i'm slightly nostalgic. not specifically for 2012 danisnotonfire but more for that time in my life when i was binge-watching all dan and phil's content for the first time. online fan culture was such a huge and important part of my life back then so dan's videos about it, like 'how to speak internet' and 'i will go down with this ship' really resonated with me. seeing them again is like looking through a window into the psyche of my past self.

My guess is they want to get some views/audience interest as it's coming up to the Edinburgh TV festival at the end of the month I believe, and yeah, they're exploiting the views they'll get from the peaked interest in D&P from the coming out vids.

In regards to TV coverage, I'm a Brit living abroad currently so can't say for certain but I couldn't imagine their stories being picked up on TV - I did do a little google for their names on Daily Mail and The Sun (aka celeb gossip scum), nothing on their coming out, thank goodness.

Tbh tho I fucking love it. I love seeing people be passionate about things they care about, and seeing Dan with stuff like this and Young Minds just has my entire heart. Dan is definitely far from consise, but it just makes me so damn happy to see him out there being passionate and getting his message out. It's very nice.

I was just saying to my aunt the other night. I'm glad they came out and they get to live their lives authentically now, but I'mma get real honest.

I always have thought they were gay (and probably together). I was of the mind though that if they didn't want to come out or share their personal lives that they didn't have to. Their career isn't built on their sexuality or relationship, so really, what right do I have to know? I've always been more of a Dan girl, but with his abscense and the DAPG hiatus, I was able to really come to appreciate Phil. He spent the first five months of this year putting out really cute and enjoyable content, all the way up until Dan came out.

Then he just stopped. Like, I'm having a hard time trying to understand why. I get that he didn't want to take away Dan's spotlight, but if they want their career to not be about their sexuality and stuff, shouldn't he just keeping posting?

At this point, I'm just like, "OKay, you're gay, now give me more cute videos of shit you bought or dumb things you tried to do."

I totally agree! What I’ve been doing to get my fix is to watch their old content from the same date through the years. Like today I’ve watched and . It’s not new, but it’s a way to see them.

I think part of the "problem" is that July was a bit unusual in that they spent most of it travelling/away. Phil's last video was June 30th, and they left for the US a week later. They were there for the next 2 weeks, then a week(ish) after they got home they left again for the Isle of Man, where they still are now (or I guess they could be home, who knows, but if so it was probably today they got back). Phil mentioned in his last member's message he's working on a vid at the moment but it's taking a while because Reasons... but I don't think, without all the travel, it'd have been 5-6 weeks between his videos.

I'm feeling that kinda way about joint content, though again I understand the delay ... but now the travel's all out of the way and some time has passed since both their coming out vids, I think it's high time they sit down and have that conversation Phil mentioned at vidcon.

I don’t think it’s harsh. I think you’re being honest and I like that.

Like madzilla said, with all the traveling they’ve been doing, the gap is understandable. I kinda believe that they might feel the vidcon content (panel, interview, reacts, etc.) can sustain us enough before they’re ready to film their own videos. I can’t wait to see what they (most probably Phil) would bring us. Hopefully it’s soon. I’m hungry.

in the absence of content, i’ve been reading back over the idb thread on June 13 and getting a big smile out of it. i loved it in real time, but it still gives me the strangest mixture of contact-high-anxiety-warm-fuzzies...mostly i just feel really grateful to be living in this timeline and really, really proud of how lovely, funny, smart, and decent the two guys i stan are.

Well now that they both made coming out videos, what’s going to be the new theory of what video they’re uploading when they are being cryptic about it?

I’ve seen a few theories floating around:

Mukbang: I doubt it, doesn’t take much editing
Wish haul or something similar: was waiting on shipping
House tour: I’ve seen theories where they’ve moved together and where they’ve moved separately
End of dan and Phil videos/content: could take more editing than normal

Knowing phil and his channel- it is probably something lighthearted and simple but he likes to be mysterious these days
