I love to imagine Dan has been teaching Phil small tricks on the piano over the years and I love the joking kinda mock-y way how Dan is showing him off. Also that intense stare man his eyes are so damn blue?
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

I wouldn't know personally, but I assume if you have an iPhone you have an app called "voice memos" and on Android you have one probably called about the same. Hit record, position the mic facing upwards sticking out the top of your bag or something. Once done, should be able to upload to dropbox, or whatsapp to somebody, or save to google drive or icloud. I mean, I guess that's how you'd do it if anyone was going to. It's so wrong though, omg.

you can probably download apps that can record audio while your phone is off. put it in your pocket with the mic facing upward, it should work.
I'm sure a modern Android phone can voice record on sleep mode! mine can at least.

also lmao aaww that video
"can you believe phil invented the piano"
"yeah i did"

i say stuff like that about my pets, it's cute and adoring.

I mean for someone who has definitely, totally not been doing it (lmao) human is exactly right. Dan and Phil are using pretty good mics and the iphone picks up a lot, I haven't had a single recording that wasn't perfectly clear and I'm assuming most people have just set their phones down somewhere. Maybe inside a pocket wouldn't be the best option but as long as the mic isn't being muffled by something directly against it then it shouldn't require anything extra besides just making sure it's on when the show starts.

I got pretty good audio and my phone was in the front pocket of my handbag.

I wonder if he’d have been as likely to ig a shot of the backstage tv if it hadn’t been a Philips? That’s cute, anyway, watching us watching them.

I didn't even realise the name of the telly, and how it could actually be the start of the sentence.

Oh, memories of trips to Scotland with the luggage piled up beside me on the back seat of the car. Dan looks so like his younger self in the thumbnail, amazing. If there are six seats how much is stored on the row behind them that they still have to carry more on their laps? Hopefully not just too many shoes ;)

Dan has a minimum of three legs and four feet in that video. Are they squished in with their crew?

Yeah, looks like there are more seats facing them, no extra shoes or a row behind them, then, very much squashed, such glam.

Based on this still definitely looks like someone in a skirt and then someone else wearing white shoes, with a red suitcase between them.

So seeing as they have 2 days off now and are crammed in the car after the show where are they off to? Late night drive to edinburgh? Seems pointless to drive through the night when they have all day off Thursday and Friday and it’s not that far, about 2 hours. unless they decided just to go after the show so they can get a lie in in Edinburgh and not waste a day travelling!

Now they have 2 days off they better upload something. I’m getting bored of waiting.

Show notes are posted! And they were honestly in a really great mood for this one. The bantz were top notch, they did reuse a couple generic things but their commentary throughout had me cracking up - and occasionally raising my eyebrow. A couple of my favorite parts (some are in the show notes, some not).
Their intro banter:

P: We went for a little wander around Newcastle today.
D: Okay I feel like you need to start that more dramatically. We went outside today!
P: We did.
D: We went for a walk. Through Wilkinsons. [audience talking over something]
P: It was a great day out. We learnt some things about Newcastle, like it's so hilly!
D: Why did no one tell us there were hills here? It's a two minute walk to the shopping center - two minutes yeah, I was like [gasping]. I sweated. I didn't ask to do exercise and that was a surprise but hey I exercised and I survived and we're here today.
P: We are here today.
D: It's a miracle. We could be dead.
P: But you know what they'd say here, they'd say - [geordie accent] get over it, pet. Alright, I'm sorry! Ooh, risky joke.
D: Lets not analyze that too much.
D: I feel like after that a ray of hope has penetrated the dank cave of my soul, Phil- a single shaft of light-
P: Shaft.
D: Okay, right, I literally wasn't even. WHATEVER.
P: I can feel the negative energy. [makes some kind of hand gesture the audience reacts to]
D: I don't think the negative energy wants you to touch it like that.

(a few minutes later)

Joint Dan and Phil question: how will they die?

- demonetization
D: What every youtuber cries about in bed at night.
P: It's your mouth on the gaming channel! That's why we get demonetized.
D: Okay I feel like it's you, Mr. Feel the Negative Energy, who is gonna say something, yeah exactly. You know L'Oreal doesn't want to put an advert next to that creepy hand.
P: Alright, alright.
Context: Dan has to explain why bad fanfiction can actually be good.

D: You know when you've got like a bad habit and you want to give something up and you just need something to convince you that it's terrible, well there is a subject for every kind of fanfiction - so you want to be a vegan but you just can't give up that dairy, then you go to wattpad and you say 'what's this milk fic about...'
P: That was too much for everyone.
D: Did I cross a line?
P: You crossed all the lines.
D: Okay. I'm sorry.
P: The lines are gone.
D: That should have just been what we did for the not milk challenge...
P: Oh my god.
D: I meant reading it, okay.
D: Lets just have a casual conversation.
P: Lets do it. I probably shouldn't have said that while I was adjusting my pants. So.
D: You shouldn't have done anything while anything.

(This could be said outside of the spoiler, but I don't wanna torture anti-spoiler peeps.)

You know. You read/watch shit like this and you begin to wonder what it must have been like to be Dan, watching Phil film for AP, to see him make a career off of not saying a single dirty thing (give or take the occasional "innocent" hiccup), meanwhile he's FILTHY irl. It must also be doubly weird to start to have to learn how to appropriately respond to this tomfoolery in front of an audience. SMH, Phil. SMDH.

Also, given the "shaft" comment. I can only conclude that Phil regularly reads a variety smut. Don't @ me.

It’s so slow right now i figured I will bring up something interesting I found while scrolling through some fan pages. Sorry if its old news :?
So basically you can see in Phil’s insta explore pages vid that Dan has a picture recommended to him from @danielhowellcloset (which is a lovely page!) which leads me to believe he had looked at the account before or at least an account or picture similar. (the post under the cut if anyones interested!)
This is interesting to me because I am pondering a couple of things.
Lots of comments under every picture are just complaining about the crazy price of the clothes. (for a good reason, he’s got a very expensive taste, to say the least) I wonder if he reads stuff like that about himself.
I also wonder how much they lurk. This gave a little evidence that at least Dan lurks a little, but i wonder how much they actually see. Personally I know if I had a following I would constantly be lurking, but perhaps maybe since its been so long they don’t even care anymore.
Is there any other evidence suggesting they lurk? It’s fasinating to me because they are so quiet about it compared to most other influencers. Especially Phil. We really don’t know anything about him

Honestly If Dan were lurking on fan pages I wouldn't put it past him that it would be one that's all about his clothes  But also i noticed that they tag him in pretty much every picture they post so that could have something to do with it showing up on his recommended? Tbh I'm sure they look at fan stuff sometimes, but like you said its likely after so many years they might not very often. Plus that can't be good for your mental health, and Dan has been actively trying to make improvements in that area in recent times -- so I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to avoid it.

PS after creeping on that instagram account I really noticed how good Dan's outfit looks on him today. Even if it his partially his own merch  (he really wasn't kidding that its all he was gunna wear on tour):
"He's the guy with his flesh on show. What a hoe.
That's. Our. Dan."

^ Dear god he looks SO ridiculously good. I must be a minority who always really enjoys Dan’s fashion choices, he’s got such a great eye for interesting pieces and I don’t mind the price tags for some of them either. I have some expensive bits that I deemed worth it. Those shoes are lush, if I didn’t have gross broken feet that hurt in nearly all shoes except crocs I would want those myself.

I bet they’re enjoying Edinburgh, I remember them saying they loved it and besides London it was their favourite city.

Looking for that forever home, eh? (Not that I really think they'd move there, Brighton or Manchester maybe. Or US with their new visas.)

Also what made me laugh, I recently saw a visa application for Russia and they ask you what your 'secret names' are. I wonder if Dan will list Dani Snot On Fire.

Seeing him in that tour tshirt has kinda cemented my decision to buy it over the other top with the hexagon on. It looks so good on him, he just looks great in everything.

Edinburgh is lovely, I felt so at home as soon as I got there for the day last year. I'd been to Scotland before, but not there. Had the best cab driver too, it seems a friendly place.

Soo cute. Soo beautiful. Howwww? The quiff, glasses and that grey Calvin shirt (thanks for finally showing the bottom) is a killer combination. I’m slain. I would give that man everything. Also so glad they are spending their extra days in Edinburgh.
