re: dan's tweet even though i'm sure we've all moved on -

a) i guess i'm just trash, but my immediate thought was that he was indirecting phil when he mentioned people with poor limb control, i didn't even consider that he was talking about anything else lmao

b) i think dan would look great with gold hoops, it's a different look than anything he's tried before and i'm all for him trying out new looks. plus, i think it would really suit him, and gold hoops would look great paired with an all black outfit and his floofy hair tbh

Yeah, I'm also like 95% sure he was just talking about Phil. It's possible to come up with other people he might have meant, but I'm pretty sure his mind and most other people's minds went straight to 'lack of limb control = Phil.'

Aw this tweet actually gave me a little hit of nostalgia thinking of Dan making fun of Phil and his "weird people just come up to me on the street!" bit from the festive DITL!

I'm on team "not too fussed" when it comes to Dan wearing earrings. I agree he looked good with the black studs, but I'm not sure if I absolutely have to see that again. Can't really imagine a gold hoop either. On the other hand, Dan and his sense of style have surprised me more than once, so who knows.

But yeah, as for the "poor limb control" tweet - I definitely immediately thought he meant Phil. We can think of extra people to add to everything he says, but 95% of the time, it's really just Phil.

There was really no doubt in my mind that he was talking about Phil with the 'poor limb control' there, I'm surprised people's thoughts went anywhere else tbh.

I really do have a thing for guys with some simple tasteful ear piercings so I neeeed Dan to bring that back. Gold hoops are tacky tho imo. I'll allow silver.

Okay if Dan doesn't get black diamond earrings now I'm suing. That would look so good on him we need to make sure he knows about this idea.

Also I know in the advertising world 10-20k is not a lot of money but to my broke self I'm shook that they get paid that much just to play a game when they probably needed a video idea anyway. (not that i think they lack good ideas or something but just that they're going to play a game anyway cause they have to make content, so they fact that they get an extra 10k just for it to be the game they're advertising.) But i guess they are millionaires anyway, so it probably doesn't seem as big of a deal to them.

It really wasn’t an issue for me at all! I went to tatinof quite a few times in the end and honestly each time the age of people around me didn’t phase me at all. No one is looking at you they’re there for the same reason. In New York I went with 2 lovely ladies I met online and we were dancing (we were drunk) to all the songs before the show. Some people came up to us at the end and said how much they had loved watching us enjoy ourselves (we looked ridic I’m sure) which just made me realise how sweet people were. Just go and enjoy yourself, honestly no one cares about your age when you are there and you’ll enjoy the show so much you won’t even notice the audience.

That makes me feel better! Very good point that I'll probably be too focused on the show (and the fact that deppy is actually right there in front of me omg i still can't believe) to pay attention to the rest of the audience.

agreed, little silver hoops would be much preferred over gold. i like the black diamond stud idea as well.

as for the tweet, realistically he just meant phil. i only thought of small kids bc i've heard too many stories of babies pulling ppl's earrings out, but none of boyfriends pulling ppl's earrings out, at least not accidentally

wow the hoop hate is slightly depresso - i am team little gold hoops! rose gold would look lovely with his complexion and dark eyes. i like that they have historical significance to the queer community, too.

i find the idea of genuine diamond studs a little flashy and tacky, so i guess like everything aesthetic it's personal preference. the black studs looked pretty but i get that he wants something new, we've seen those before.
i want him to get back into earrings in general if he's thinking about it, i don't care what they are. i just want to support more of the personal style exploration we saw in 2017 that seemed to give him a boost.

I’m glad I’m not alone in the lil gold hoop lovers corner! Reading all the hatred towards it here made me equal parts sad and questioning my own taste in clothing. I also find diamond studs to be the ultimate tacky fuckboy accessory, so, that’s a hard pass from me personally but

I'm Team Single Small Gold Hoop, I think it would suit him well. It looks great on Connor Franta and I love his style. Diamond earrings on guys makes me think of early 2000's douchebags with spiky hair and trucker hats. Just... no thanks.

I also own a couple of things inspired by Dan. I loved the potato sack and went out and bout an oversized sand coloured jumper. It's one of my favourite jumpers ever. I also bought an oversized boatneck b/w striped jumper because he looks so great in his. He truly is an influencer.

Re: earrings
I love the black gauges on Dan but think a gold hoop would look odd on him (sorry!). I'd go for silver. But he always seems to surprise us so I expect something completely different!

Around the time of tatinof I really toyed with the idea of finding a pair of zippy high-tops like Dan's. I also wore a zippy jacket so much that it wore out, because it reminded me of Dan's black jacket with zips.

I'm always on board with Dan trying new things with his style and as someone who often wears little gold hoops I'd love to see him in some (or one). I also like the ideas of either a little black hoop or a little dangle of some sort. But whatever he chooses to do I really wish he'd just do it without making a big deal or joke out of it. Just wear that single earring and make no fuss about it, let it speak for itself bud lol. Dan's just not like that though is he? haha
