The new video was super cute tho! I really liked it, it reminded me on somethING but I can't really tell what. But I really like it that they now played two games in a row that needs a bit of a team effort. It's really nice. Sure a bit of f r i e n d s But I think it''s alright hence everything else that have been happening lately. The video was lovely and I gotta say that when they made the heart, I was expecting Dan to make it into a joke and go with the mocking expression he usually goes with but nooooo, I think the way he read "lovely" on the screen was genuinely sweet?

aaaa this new video was so cute! i didn't mind the whole "emphasis on friendship" bc, i mean, that's what they are, best friends. it's not a bad thing. it's just the truth. we don't know 100% if they're more than that. cute video though, i love, love, love when they do co-op games! also they were just..right next to each other for practically the whole time, freakin touchin shoulders and arms omg.

alright, i'll start by saying i don't see where everyone is coming from with the whole friendship/step backward thing. as far as i know, your significant other SHOULD be your best friend and most people i know feel this way/agree with this/consider their significant other to be their best friend. them referring to each other as best friends does not come off no-homo at all to me...it's just the truth. do you think they'd make the title of the video 'the game that will destroy your relationship'?? do you think dan's going to say 'if you play this with your boyfriend...like me playing it with phil...who is my boyfriend'? i don't think anyone expects that. in fact, i think the 'or a FAMILY MEMBER' while looking right at phil was a lot more telling than them calling each other best friends. also maybe it's just me but i didn't seem to hear them say 'friend' a number of times that really stuck out.

basically, they are best friends. maybe they're comfortable acting more coupley on social media but i don't think anyone expects them to explicitly say that they are in a video. so not really sure where all of this is coming from. i thought it was a nice video and i thought the fact that the innuendos 'do me now/make that hole deeper' (just from memory, not claiming these are direct quotes' going pretty much unacknowledged aside from dan not being able to hold in a laugh/glance at the camera was nice. no 'rewind' or anything like that. it was funny and they seemed comfortable. certainly not counting this as a loss.

Also I don't remember Dan saying to ask about March in August, can anyone give any background info?

In one of his liveshows in April, he said to the audience to "ask about that one week in March" in August. He also said in his most recent liveshow that he was really stressed in March.

I wonder if he specifically meant August or if he was just saying it as a random time in the future

maybe i don't remember correctly but i thought he said something more like 'ask me about that one week in march in like 6 months' and not specifically august? maybe i'm wrong. either way, i do think it's a general time to ask about it and not a concrete fact that in exactly august he'll want to talk about it.

Not really sure why many are throwing a big issue over the "friends/best friends" thing?? Like lurker said, it's still a true statement regardless of whatever the relationship really is. They can't exactly just not say friends or even family in this case, it would cause an uproar. I don't know what else they could possibly say without (if they are together) outing themselves. It's not that big a deal nor is it a step back at all. Just because they didn't "act like a couple" and called eachother best friends for just this one video, which literally is a test of patience in any kind of relationship, doesn't dilute or confirm anything.

Now other than this, the video was actually quite fun to watch. There's always something I really love about deppy playing any type of fast pace games that makes me constantly get into the game play. Also the amount of one liners/innuendos from phil thoughout the video was really funny, but really that's just what the gaming channel has constantly and it's great.

And the whole august/that week in march, I'm still convinced it's tied to the lemonademoney account following dan, Phil and flipside that I found around that same week in march and dan followed the manager around then too so, I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I loved that video!!! Sign me up for any game that involves teamwork and the both of them at the controls. My favorite thing is watching them figure stuff out together. The little moments here and there where they quickly come to a solution to a problem. That's my shit right there.

Agree with everyone who says you can/should be best friends with your partner! Especially in a long term relationship, you might not always feel crazy and romantically in love with your other half, so a strong friendship is really important!

I loved this video! It's got me wanting to play the game which I guess is the point of a gaming channel but not usually what happens when I watch D&P!

Loved the video! I was actually kind of shocked that he exposed Phil's rage like that... wish it could have come out to play for real.

I also was kind of shocked that they were both spotted in FL again (and in that cat monstrosity, no less). They look great. And happy. And great. I don't even feel the need to read phanfic anymore. Okay, so that's a lie, but ykwim.

Judging by the glimpse of that thigh and is general complexion it looks like tan!dan is making a slight appearance!!

Haven't watched the video yet, but I would expect nothing else other than the label "friendship" at this point, and regardless it's the truth. Moments like Dan saying "You don't have to go across the room" when Phil moved an inch away from him compared to Dan not getting in shot because he didn't want to get too close to Phil is what is telling to me.

I love that Dan really emphasized both the 'best friend' and 'family' part when he was talking about that. I don't find it odd or discouraging at all that they refer to each other as (best) friends so much in this video. Do we really expect them to say anything else? They've made it very clear that while they might be more open to sharing cutesy couple-y stuff with us, it'll only ever be unsaid, no matter how blatant it is. I also think that to them, the best friend part of their relationship is just as important--if not more so--than the romantic part.

I do find it interesting that Dan definitely knew we'd read into the 'family' comment, but went ahead and shared what amounted to a mini family photo album before uploading this video anyway.

I really didn't like that shirt when I saw it on Dan's insta, but when he's posed like that, it actually looks quite nice! I guess it was the weird boxy tent-like hang when he had his arms out that made it look weird to me. Also, is that a nice tan I spy through the holes on those jeans?

The video, overall, was pretty fun. I love their more co-op stuff, especially when Phil actually plays instead of watching and commentating. Like people kept saying, I would've like to see actual rage!Phil as well, but I understand why he didn't want to show it. I think during the filming of this video he probably did get genuinely annoyed/angry for a bit, because there were a few jump cuts that looked a bit more abrupt than usual and where the game reset after something particularly frustrating. I think I like the bomb one better, but this was enjoyable. They sure are spoiling us with the upload schedule, I hope they keep it up.

I love the idea of Phil being angry hahaha probably because we always see him in his super friendly persona, and how cute was Dan teasing him. I don't mind the friend and best friends thing, I mean, even if they are acting more coupley if they're not 100% ready to come out yet they're not going to say "i love playing this with my so/boyfriend/husband are they? About the friend thing- it's not a big deal at all. The family statements are more important.
Dan was the first to refer to the two of them as family- several months ago, in a liveshow when he was talking about gifts you give to family. Then we had Phil refer to dan as family in his Eurovision tweet and now we have this video. If that wasn't enough- they filmed these videos after moving into their 3rd flat together. Since then we've had Dan tell us they are going to adopt a dog
together, after they get a forever home and we've also had Singapore and the Lester family vacation. They aren't backsliding. They are pushing forward and getting bolder/more comfortable every time they share something like this with us.

I'm happy with where they are and I don't need any big statements. Words are nice but they don't really mean as much when every action tells us what we need to know.

That was a cute vid and did I hear a bit of northern!Phil at 3:39 ?

I love how they kept moving closer and closer together as the puzzles got more difficult. (Phil was the one practically sitting on top of Dan this time, usually it's the other way around how cute)

I found their dynamic during the last challenge (around the 10 minute mark) especially interesting. Phil was mainly the one trying to solve the puzzle with encouraging!Dan was mostly following what Phil says, and after about a minute and a half Dan finally says something and solves the puzzle. this vid reminded me of an Undertail vid (I can't remember which one) where there was a sliding puzzle game. Phil tried it first but it took him a really long time until he finally told Dan to do it. We talked about this last time re: their dynamic during MarioKart, and I just find this really interesting. I'm a bit too tired to read farther into it, maybe later

Also wow, not complaining but how long are they going to be in florida?? Any longer that's going to end up being their forever home

also on the friend comments are ok train!!! just because you're dating someone doesn't mean you're suddenly not best friends -- and even if it did, there is nothing they could say in it's place that would make sense without outing themselves. i'm just grateful that they're comfortable showing us so much that's unspoken anymore.

we're all so invested and always in detective mode, it's easy to forget how much they actually give us now. it's so many steps in the right direction, even if it was a step back, it would be so minute in the scheme of things. sometimes we just gotta enjoy the good.

but moving on, i loved the video!! i thought the game looked super fun and i would love to play it myself. the cooperation level reminds me of multiplayer portal. it's a really adorable game, to top it off. it was fluffy and fun for me to watch. i really hope they play more. maybe we'll make it to rage!phil.

I think you've all said what I wanted to say re: friendship. They are best friends no matter what and regardless of whatever progress we might see on social media and in liveshows, I really don't expect them to present themselves as anything more on their gaming channel, except through innuendo and subtle teasing. They've got a great dynamic and lots of people enjoy watching it, not just phans.

I had read several of the posts about too much friendship talk before watching, but I didn't get any kind of no-homo vibe from the video. It was cute, not as touchy feely as the last one, but that's okay!

And I'm glad Dan didn't push Phil into playing more, Phil was very firm with his "no". It's probably nothing but at the end Dan says "It's just very testing for the kindness and communication skills that you have with the person you play with". "Especially me," says Phil. Phil is Dan's person.

The other part of me wants them to come home so we can hear about said vacation, see more of the duplex and get a decent length Sims video. I hope they are having a great time. That was a cute video! I really enjoy their dynamic- they truly are so supportive of each other and understanding of strengths and weaknesses. They are also getting so much more comfortable sharing this with the viewer on a more personal level- we are getting anecdotes that don't exist purely to support the past branding!

What I took from that is that Dan had to convince Phil to play this game on the channel and it makes me wonder how the game choosing process normally goes- I get the sense it is often Phil who comes up with the play schedule? With Dan occasionally bringing in "finds" like My Horse Prince

I also kinda glossed over the friends mentions as it seemed to fit with the discussions at that point. I think people are maybe just a little on guard against the resurgence of a no-homo era.

As far as the red eyes, that to me looks more like a guy who isnt' quite sure how to apply foundation. I look like that if I don't blend in my eyelids or wear eyeshadow because my skin tone is generally pinker than my foundation

Adding my voice to the chorus of people who don't see anything off or backward about them referring to each other as friend/best friend - that's what they publicly refer to each other as so what else do people expect them to say? Until/unless they make an explicit statement about their relationship, they'll keep using those terms.

If anything, I actually thought that whole bit at 6:10ish where Dan made a point of distinguishing himself and Phil from a casual friendship, instead insinuating that they're closer to "best friends or family members" was more telling, as he conveniently left out 'partner' as a type of relationship in which it is appropriate to tease one another/be impolite in a jokey competitive way. I felt that he was making a pretty clear statement there regarding what he and Phil are to each other and the type of relationship they have, without having to explicitly say they're together.

In summary, I really enjoyed this video! I've been loving Dan's attitude toward Phil in gaming videos lately - while he does tease him and act exasperated, it doesn't come off as dismissive like it sometimes used to and instead just seems really fond. The mentions of 'friend/friendship' didn't bother me at all for the same reasons everyone else has said already, and if anything I felt they made a point to emphasise just how close and comfortable they are with one another.

(also, I love Dan's baggy cat t-shirt and think that it's genuinely a great look on him paired with the ripped jeans. this florida holiday is the cutest thing ever, i'd thought they might have left now given dan location tagging his instagram earlier but maybe not given that people saw them out and about earlier. hope they're having a great time regardless! 2017 is such a delight so far, it's nice to see them so happy )

People are saying that all the "best friends" and "friendship" is a step back but I very much disagree! My mum very often refers to my dad as her best friend. Whenever they get into an argument or anything, they always end on "are we friends again?" They always say thingsike this. Your significant other can also be your best friend!
