No Danxreader smut, thankfully, and the bi-erasure seems to come solely from people's asks and not the mods themselves.

On a related note: does anyone actually know anyone for real that made up ''being bisexual for attention'' in their younger years? Most of the scene kids that I knew back in the day that so-called ''made up being bisexual because it was trendy'' pretty much are all still bisexual, even though one or two of my friends ended up only dating/marrying the opposite sex. I suppose it must just seem that way to the outside world when they check a girl's Facebook status and see that she is married to a man now, so of course she must be straight.

I don't know anyone that made up being bisexual, but I know people who felt free as a teenager to talk about their sexuality and then as an adult encountered hard situations or lost friends/opportunities and decided to go back into a partial closet. Choosing not to reference sexuality on social media is a huge, easy example of that. As crappy as it is, we still live in a world where it's sometimes safer to let people you don't really know make assumptions about you when you don't know how they'd react to the truth.

And the phanantiproof blog actually does have some pretty nasty bi-erasure on it, particularly if you look at the sexuality tag. That mod is practically the originator of "Dan's not bisexual, he just wants to look like those men he's admiring" bullshit theory. I respect anyone's right to believe in phan as a couple or not but I can't take the "anti-phan proof" seriously at all from anyone that I know has the bias of trying to erase a previously stated sexuality.

Everyone I knew that came out as/identified as bisexual in middle school is either still bi now or completely gay (me included). I don't think most people would come out as bi for attention or at least not for very long because there's a lot of complications that come with being bi, for example not being allowed to sleep over a friends' house anymore or even not allowed to see a friend because the parent is homophobic.

I really don't see how phanfiction is wrong if you're gonna post danxreader smut...sounds like anti-phaners are just desperate fangirls who want to think that someday they could hookup with dan...

Would he ever intentionally out some colleagues (or anyone) for either drama or out of frustration? Nooooo. I don't know if the people speculating about that are people who don't know anything about him or what. But no. I wouldn't call myself a giant fan, but I listen to his podcasts and will probably read his book at some point, and he's always reiterating that nobody should have to come out if they don't feel ready or safe etc. It's not just lip service. He's helped to raise so much for the Trevor Project (suicide prevention for LGBT+ youth). Outing people against their will does not fit with creating a more comfortable world for youth/people struggling with their sexualities. Plus I'm sure he has better things to do than sit around thinking about how annoyed he is with DnP for not being more open and deciding to try to push them through a closed door. Listen, I love a good conspiracy theory, but no. No.

I enjoy reading Danxreader (or Philxreader but those ones are harder to find) if they are well written and I'm not an antiphan...

Look I really like Tyler too, I got his book on audiobook, I went to his tour, I watched the first half of amazingrace (before I just got bored), I watched his documentary, I listen to this podcast, and all that. But I do think he likes attention. Regardless of if this was a mistake or not, I think he kinda liked the attention and the fact that it gave him a chance to make himself look good with that tweet. I don't know. I just think he likes attention and I wouldn't completely put it past him to reblog it, at least for the first time, to try to seem kinda funny and relateable. I don't mean to put him down when I say that.

I have to agree that the bi-erasure that particular blog engages in makes me really uncomfortable. Like being anti-phan or phan-agnostic is one thing, to a certain degree, I can understand that, but I wish that it didn't so often go hand in hand with a rather desperate need to prove both Dan and Phil to be straight. To me, that tactic just highlights the biases that go into these people's reasoning & often showcases a very deep lack of empathy when it comes to queer issues and realities. Now, not saying that's the case for everyone, but that blog is a very good example.

(But yeah, what I do like is that Ren is pretty opposed to hate & doesn't allow ship-hating on her blog.)

if your anti phan theory has to rely on them being straight, i think it's faulty. there are plenty of genuine things you could argue make them being in a relationship questionable, so if your main argument is 'they're straight tho!!' i can't really see it as a valid theory.
that anti proof blog is pretty full of bi erasure though, even if it's not intentional. i've actually seen them more respectful of dan being gay over bi lmao.

i never knew anyone who said they were bi and faked it. knew some people who were straight, admitted outright they were unsure/wanted to experiment and rested on straight still. not the same situation - d+p were both pretty blunt with their answers when they were open. also knew a lot of people (myself included, i suppose) who used bi as a label when knowing they had attraction to multiple genders, even if the term wasn't exactly right. kind of a 'i don't know exactly what i am, i don't really mind, but this term at least explains the fact that i am open to being attracted to more than one gender'. so, 'bisexual' in terms of the description, but not a term they'd adopt themselves.

Phanantiproof is good blog when it comes to not hate shipping unlike the stopphanproffing blog who is pretty harsh with the shippers.
