I'm assuming the double-streaming effort is to try and recoup some of that. Considering some of the top fans on younow are paying in the area of $1000 (possibly up to $1400) a month each, and they're now monetizing on youtube as well, I anticipate there won't be that many skipped livestream weeks in the upcoming year.
(I've also seen some people say there are more ads on videos now, too. Would that be their doing or youtubes?)
Well they would only really need to make earning that amount the status quo for every year if they had made life changes that dramatically increased their cost of living and it was now more expensive for them to maintain their lifestyles.
And honestly unless they have bought a secret house (or two) I personally can't really imagine that going back to what they made before is going to hit them hard. Despite Dan's expensive taste in clothing and the fact they probably pay a ridiculous amount of rent for that flat in London I would probably still put my own money on the fact that pre TABINOF and TATINOF D&P were already making considerably more then the level they spend at.
That being said they are hardly in a secure line of work and youtubers can fall out of favour mighty fast so I'd understand if they want to make as much money as possible while they are still relevant so that's not to say they won't be trying to find ways to make as much out of this as possible for as long as the iron is hot.
However I imagine TATINOF/TABINOG/DAPGO are more like money towards the nest egg(s) for them and they can more then afford to make less than they made at the height of these ventures.
Also I might be making this up but I'm sure some youtuber may have mentioned recently that ad money is at an all time low so an increase in adverts may just be that they are paying less than they used to? Plus unlike a lot of youtubers D&Ps fanbase is loyal enough that they probably know they can pile on the adverts and a good percentage of their fans will not abandon watching where I imagine for some creators that is a major concern and reason to keep ads at a reasonable level.
