I completely agree with this. Especially since Dan already gets anxious when he gets more views than usual. I hope that it will all go well for them and everyone likes the stuff on YOuTube Red.

okay youtube red talk, 1st that trailer was meh, like it doesn't show anything of the real deal, and people that don't know anything about it will not be compelled to buy it, I think.
2nd I want it, next week I have 5 midterms in a week, I'm going to have an anxiety attack at the end of that (and I'm not an anxious person), then i have my last midterm on the 5, of course. . I watched the video with my friend and we both think that because of the way Dan talked about this in the last few weeks, this was the start of a shitstorm, not the shitstorm.
Any ideas about what could be next?
With the video itself, it was a lotttt better than the American tour video. I found it kind of cute and all of the sudden I missed TATINOF so much! I have no idea why. The show itself has so much cringey parts, but what made it amazing was the vibe, them, and I don't know how to explain it, but the way they put it together just made it so good.
At the PINOF reference, I couldn't help but squeal.
I'm so excited for the 5th!

Agree, such an underwhelming teaser. The only thing it did is announce the date (and who doesn't know the prologue by now?).

I knew it was going to be promo. Just like last time, it was at seven. I bet they're at the office now too.

I'm always imagining them uploading from home, but you must be right. It's funny to imagine them in the office, a year later, exactly like in the making of book video maybe a little bit more dead inside.

I'm in Europe but I wouldn't travel to see the show live, so I'm happy the touring is over (for now).

The YTR trailer of clips from all the new shows showed a bit, but still not enough for even an overview.

I thought the same thing, it doesn't explain anything for casual viewers or even people who've never seen them before which makes me think that they know the vast majority of people who are going to watch it will be the phandom and they aren't expecting much from outside their existing fan base, although tbf I have no idea how popular superwoman and pewdiepies projects were so I don't know what the expectations are numbers wise anyway,a couple of million hits from the phandom will make everyone happy I'd imagine? I'm actually more interested in the documentary than tatinof itself for some reason I don't know why

The teaser was nice especially the PINOF1 quote. (They really are using most of the Phan classics in a normal way.)I think most of you expected so much. Dan said that it's a teaser. Of course it will not be coming out video or whatever. I think he was just really anxious how the films will be received coz last year people were unhappy when they announced the book and tour. They've been working hard for those films so it will really crush them especially if their own fans will be displeased.

Although, I really, really like to see TATINOF, I am more excited to see the documentary. How many phan moments did they allow in the film? Will they show how they conceptualized the show? Did they argue a lot during this process? I want to know how you think!

I will flip out if I can't buy those two films because I got a lot of the ads to buy MatPat's and Finebros' YoutubeRed videos before. Youtube, don't fail me now that I am finally interested.

honestly, would anyone NOT a fan really enjoy watching the show? i can see how it'd be enjoyable for someone who was dragged along because of the vibe from the crowd, but to watch it in the quiet comfort of your own home? most other YT red things i've seen trailers for seem to be standalone projects but TATINOF is so deeply intertwined with their existing content you do need the background knowledge to get into it. i see curious people watching the first 5-10 mins, not getting it and clicking away.

Regarding that this is the start of a shitstorm, rather than the cause...that makes a lot more sense with Dan's behaviour, I agree. I wonder if they will be releasing more "teasers" from here on out? This video had an awful lot of editing and planning behind it so I am instantly suspicious deppy and good editing don't overlap on the phan diagram, guys. Everyone else put it a lot more eloquently on that issue though.

Also, we discussed that if they put both the show and documentary on one channel then that would obviously mean money or publicity wasn't an issue for them and a larger indication of either #phan or at least an intricate connection between money they share. The fact that they are splitting the projects on both channels and therefore splitting the publicity means that I can give the ironic #PHANDIVORCE I've always dreamed of saying? At least that mystery is over with

I'm a little disappointed that they don't seem to be doing a Europe tour. They'll forget about Ireland anyway. Phil visited in 2009 and then never returned... but then again for a lot more countries in Europe and the completely dismissed Asia phandom whom will probably never cross with deppy IRL I can see the annoyance. The of the rest of the tour is the most insulting for those eager for TATINOF and probably won't ever see it live (I'm just beating a dead horse right now and making myself emotional when I was previously indifferent, wow)

I laughed when Phil put his laptop in the microwave, it was so unexpected. Also loved the tardis style zapping of it into the world of Dan and Phil. The opening was funny too, with Phil on his laptop and Dan playing video games. Very domestic. Also the pinof line


I expected it to be the teaser trailer. I'm really happy that the trailer didn't really give much away so nothing is spoiled for me. I couldn't go to see tatinof live because I had exams, and also it meant going alone to sit in a room full of screaming thirteen year olds looking all out of place. [offtopic]I was just on Jenna's channel and noticed her views didn't look 'that high' (a relative concept) compared to her sub count. She's averaging less than Dan despite having more than twice the subscribers.

Then also had a look at other YTers who have more subs than him and Tyler, Lily, Zoella etc all seem to pull in on average less views per video (Dan averages around 3m unless its a special one). That's despite him uploading pretty infrequently.

So any of his own comments about being irrelevant can go in the bin. And if he's worried about the reception of these docs he shouldn't be: even from their core audience alone they do very well, and everyone's already familiar with the bour shit at this point.
