I can understand how to him this teaser release is like the tipping point of something big and stressful that will consume his life for the next month.

I completely agree with this. Especially since Dan already gets anxious when he gets more views than usual. I hope that it will all go well for them and everyone likes the stuff on YOuTube Red.

Any more speculation on why they might be coming to America soon? I originally thought it was something to do with this, but now that we know it's coming out so soon I'm not as sure.
Does anyone remember a few weeks ago in one of Dan's liveshows someone asked if there would be book signings for dapgo and Dan said something along the lines of "maybe not signings but some other event"...?
I feel like that might be the "shitstorm" he's referencing...not the ytr specials.

okay youtube red talk, 1st that trailer was meh, like it doesn't show anything of the real deal, and people that don't know anything about it will not be compelled to buy it, I think.
2nd I want it, next week I have 5 midterms in a week, I'm going to have an anxiety attack at the end of that (and I'm not an anxious person), then i have my last midterm on the 5, of course. So gonna finish that, return home, give deppy my money and watch it with my best friend that has say yes to that

. I watched the video with my friend and we both think that because of the way Dan talked about this in the last few weeks, this was the start of a shitstorm, not the shitstorm.
Any ideas about what could be next?
With the video itself, it was a lotttt better than the American tour video. I found it kind of cute and all of the sudden I missed TATINOF so much! I have no idea why. The show itself has so much cringey parts, but what made it amazing was the vibe, them, and I don't know how to explain it, but the way they put it together just made it so good.
At the PINOF reference, I couldn't help but squeal.
I'm so excited for the 5th!

the buildup of Phil having the idea with the laptop, them-in-a-nutshell dialogue, all the effects and sounds, the first line spoken in their first video together, the closeup of Phil's beauteous blues and the final slam of the title.
I was in heaven. Even got my mum to watch it when the TV went to an ad break since it's short and she looked fairly horrified as he did the daft thing, overall she wasn't all that whelmed.
I was expecting a short teaser showing very little and then longer trailers in a week or two. Now Phil's said to watch out for the documentary trailer next week, maybe this is it, but I wouldn't think this is enough for a casual viewer to know what they'll be paying for. The YTR trailer of clips from all the new shows showed a bit, but still not enough for even an overview.

I'm excited to see the documentary! I've seen bits and pieces of the tour, but I'll be nice to see it in its entirety.

I thought the same thing, it doesn't explain anything for casual viewers or even people who've never seen them before which makes me think that they know the vast majority of people who are going to watch it will be the phandom and they aren't expecting much from outside their existing fan base, although tbf I have no idea how popular superwoman and pewdiepies projects were so I don't know what the expectations are numbers wise anyway,a couple of million hits from the phandom will make everyone happy I'd imagine? I'm actually more interested in the documentary than tatinof itself for some reason I don't know why

The teaser was nice especially the PINOF1 quote. (They really are using most of the Phan classics in a normal way.)I think most of you expected so much. Dan said that it's a teaser. They've been working hard for those films so it will really crush them especially if their own fans will be displeased.

this fucked me up good i'm hyped i'm so hyped its bringing back the feeling of the microwave countdown and i can't wait to fondly watch the documentary.
honestly, would anyone NOT a fan really enjoy watching the show? i can see how it'd be enjoyable for someone who was dragged along because of the vibe from the crowd, but to watch it in the quiet comfort of your own home? most other YT red things i've seen trailers for seem to be standalone projects but TATINOF is so deeply intertwined with their existing content you do need the background knowledge to get into it. i see curious people watching the first 5-10 mins, not getting it and clicking away.

Regarding that this is the start of a shitstorm, rather than the cause...that makes a lot more sense with Dan's behaviour, I agree. I wonder if they will be releasing more "teasers" from here on out? At least that mystery is over with
I'm a little disappointed that they don't seem to be doing a Europe tour. They'll forget about Ireland anyway. Phil visited in 2009 and then never returned... but then again for a lot more countries in Europe and the completely dismissed Asia phandom whom will probably never cross with deppy IRL I can see the annoyance. The of the rest of the tour is the most insulting for those eager for TATINOF and probably won't ever see it live (I'm just beating a dead horse right now and making myself emotional when I was previously indifferent, wow)

I. am. excited.
I laughed when Phil put his laptop in the microwave, it was so unexpected. Also loved the tardis style zapping of it into the world of Dan and Phil. The opening was funny too, with Phil on his laptop and Dan playing video games. Very domestic. Also the pinof line
I expected it to be the teaser trailer. I'm really happy that the trailer didn't really give much away so nothing is spoiled for me. I couldn't go to see tatinof live because I had exams, and also it meant going alone to sit in a room full of screaming thirteen year olds looking all out of place. I am so excited to finally be able to see it
I didn't even notice the laptop stickers were blurred out when I watched it

[offtopic]I was just on Jenna's channel and noticed her views didn't look 'that high' (a relative concept) compared to her sub count. She's averaging less than Dan despite having more than twice the subscribers.
Then also had a look at other YTers who have more subs than him and Tyler, Lily, Zoella etc all seem to pull in on average less views per video (Dan averages around 3m unless its a special one). That's despite him uploading pretty infrequently.
So any of his own comments about being irrelevant can go in the bin. And if he's worried about the reception of these docs he shouldn't be: even from their core audience alone they do very well, and everyone's already familiar with the bour shit at this point. If this whole promo stage is really the 'storm' he was talking about then... BOI *roast hand*[/offtopic]

Totally underwhelmed. After Dan's shitstorm comments and so many people saying they got anxious vibes in the ls I was half expecting something new. The only new info we got was the date (so soon). Is the shitstorm people deducing that TATINOF Europe won't be happening and being mad about that?
