Phil was a complete mess the first section of the vid. Dunno what was going on there, but it was funny to watch.

Loved the DINI vid as much as the first one (despite the whole thing being flipped - was it filmed on iSight again?) - was it really only in April? Wow. That thumbnail tho. Bloody hell.

just wanted to quickly un-lurk to say something really off-topic:[offtopic]i was very busy, so i just recently finished catching up. i know the inuksuk may have offendet some of you, but i really don't get why. i m german, so my culture is constantly made fun of. like, turn any non-german tv show on, and when germany ever gets mentioned, it gets ridiculed. like, think of how a german accent is portrayed on tv. and the saddest part is that many foreigners seem to think german actually sounds this horrible. or the oktoberfest, the dirndl, the lederhose- all things that are somehow made fun of by other cultures, without even knowing that there's a deeper meaning behind it, that it actually bears cultural significance to us germans. but this is just how things are, and know one actually gives a sh*t. get over yourself, it was just a joke. and remember: if the humor is missing, then it is about ideology, not truth.[/offtopic]

That was fun, the thumbnail alone made me though Dan's thumbnail was creepy af with the eyes and blush-squiggles making his face look grey.

Loved him being so keen to run off and get the comb to do Phil's hair. Sweet boy. At first the centre parting seemed to suit Phil, but then it looked flat and the smart shirt too left him looking good for an evil smarmy something, but not great otherwise. That black jacket, though especially with the white tshirt. I keep being reminded of James Dean. The blue tshirt kinda suited him and the Iwatobi jackets are great on both of them. Bit of a shame they didn't leave them unzipped and put on their swimming trunks, their soft tummies are cute.

Phil's just cheeky getting Dan the weird costumes, but it makes for a fun time. Fricking meat cleaver, though, I can see Dan's point that if it slipped out of Phil's hand, they'd have a worse problem than the time (blindfolded makeup challenge) Phil was using it to scrape lipstick off the carpet.

Bless Phil being so into dressing up as all the characters, though, it's so cute. I liked the froofy women's scarf and the layered wig. Just blue and purple might suit him.

Dan's video was nice, he looked good even reversed, it was all soft and lowkey. I was surprised he mentioned Black Butler since he'd said he didn't like it much. I've seen some of that, Blue Exorcist, Ouran and little else that they've recommended, I've found anime hard to get into so far, but some do sound good.

Yessss I got the sense that was genuine! The way Phil asked and Dan's "..yes.." seemed like maybe Phil told him he'd be dressing as something else and did sneakily keep it a surprise. Dan's "where have you been kee--ping that??" sounded like he almost stopped himself in the middle of the sentence (whoops too surprised, unlike the morph suit which was not actual surprise) but kept going anyway. These dorks.

I am german too but this just sounds like a competition for who has it worse. Like, you can't really compare people making fun of some things like the lederhose with that. What you could compare it though, would be if someone went to the holocaust monumentum without knowing what it is and saying it looks like a graveyard and it's creepy af. (Which wouldn't offend me that at all because I know it is because of how it looks and not what it represents, but people still have the right to be, even if I wouldn't)
And the thing is that dirndl, oktoberfest etc. aren't really "the german culture"? Like, a lot of parts in germany except the south (where these things actually come from) make fun of them too and don't really care for them either I never even been to one oktoberfest in my life and I don't feel like missing out of the german culture.

Phil's anime cosplay video : fuck yeah. this is the content I'm here for, funny, jokey, made me laugh out loud a good few times. Dan in that morph suit was horrifying but also so funny all at the same time. Him trying to put the contact lenses in was probably my favourite bit, don't judge us all who wear glasses Daniel, I can't for the life of me get lenses in. Good 10/10 video for me plus the gifs are gonna be cute af.

Dans anime recommendation video: I've not watched it yet. Rl getting in the way but not gonna rush as anime isn't my thing at all.

All in all, when life is busy it's nice to have lots to catch up on. Looking forwards to a night off and dans live show if he does one.

My thoughts during that cosplay video: are they actually kidding us? If they continue this gross escalation of touching each other they'll be picking each others noses next time. And then I realized.

It was fun to watch but IMO not as good as the last one, if you are an anime nerd and here for the recs (like me) because he mentioned some shows again for their new seasons or talked about anime they didn't even like that much.(why)
But I understand in the first video he still had a lot more material to talk about like all the classics.
But honestly Dan I'm judging you hard for saying Chihayafuru was only "kind of ok".

nobody asked but here are my thoughts on what DnP (and everyone else) should watch based on his categories because that's what went through my head while watching his video:

- sports anime: Hikaru no Go. Most dramatic and at the same time calm and beautiful coming-of-age story with wrapped in a sports anime/manga ever. And the characters!! spoiler: will make you cry.
- epic adventure: he's right, HunterxHunter. I can't wait to hear their thoughts if they make it to the end.
- more "mature and cool": Kill La Kill. Kind of crazy, hilarious, ridiculing fanservice in anime, lots of plot twists, fast pace, surprisingly deep story, amazing animation.
- calm, pleasant slice of life: Barakamon. This anime cleansed my soul and watered my crops and made me feel glad to be alive on this beautiful planet.

Haaa yeah I do the exact same thing! It usually takes me about an hour to get through a new video of theirs 'cause I pause it every 30 seconds and slam my laptop shut... (it took me over 3 hours to watch tatinof) I think I probably just need time to process what's happening and how to react to it. Every.. 20 seconds... But I really enjoyed the video!

Welcome, imaginarymind! It takes me lots of time to watch their new videos as well, but for different reasons. It's not the second-hand embarrassment, which you two seem to experience, I just like to replay my favourite moments 5-6 times before I continue watching the rest of the video. So a 10 minute video from either one of them can actually take me 20-25 minutes the first time round. This has actually become one of my initial methods of checking if the video was really good and enjoyable for me. The longer it took me to watch the first time the more I probably like it (duh!) Their latest baking video took me about 50 minutes to watch and I loved every. freaking. second.

Anime #spons were good as well, enjoyed reading all of yous' timestamps and such
