Dan & Phil Part 14: Is This Tour Over Yet?

I really really like Phil (he's my favourite out of the two of them), but the only thing I find sligthly strange/creepy about him is the way he grabs fans at m&g. It must be just me (I generaly dislike and try to avoid physical contact), but sometimes his fingers are so close to the girl's boobs that I can't help feeling a bit...

This intrigues me, actually. Maybe it's just because I like him so I'm very biased, but I thought him actually having physical contact with fans was a nice thing to do and made the selfies/meet and greets seem a lot more personal as opposed to Dan who just holds the phone and does a classic V sign. Also from all the pictures I see, he very rarely actually grabs people, but it seems like his hands are ever-so delicately placed and he's normally barely touching the person (like his hands are hovering moreso than actually grabbing.)

This isn't at all meant to invalidate your opinion, I'm just intrigued by it.

I agree. I think that just standing there together would be painfully awkward for me, I wouldn't mind a reassuring touch at all. But I do understand that it would make some people uncomfortable, and hopefully those people are vocal about it!

Thanks to everyone who shared their opinion about it. Just to clarify, I'm not saying he is creepy (it's just this particular situation (fan photos) and I don't like physical contact at all, so I guess that makes me way more sensitive in that regard).

Yeah everyone's different when it comes to physical proximity, I have no issues hugging strangers as long as it is of the same sex. However I don't have physical interaction with opposite sex (even friends) unless they are my family members and of course my partner. I'm pretty sure though respects any fan's wishes that may include no physical contact.

Absolutely! I agree both of them are polite and considerate towards the fans.

Edit: pixlexia: I like him too! I'm here 95% for phan but as I said Phil is my favourite out of the two. What I find a bit strange (maybe strange isn't the best word) is not physical contact itself (I agree it can be comforting in this situation) but the way his fingers are always just a few cm away from the girl's chest. I know it is not conscious because, as many posters said, he does this with everyone (male and female). It was just a comment, and I in no way was trying to imply anything bad about him (it's just me, that dislike physical contact and would be uncomfortable in that situation). I agree Phil looks way more natural than Dan in meet and greet situations, though.

I view Phil's shoulder grab thing in the exact opposite way as you do because I've always thought it was him showing fans "affection" while maintaining as minimal contact as possible and while keeping his hands in a safe and visible place.
When his holding a fans shoulders not only are his hands clearly in a visible spot so everyone can see exactly what body parts his touching but it also means means he is essentially keeping the fan controlled. If his holding them by the shoulders in the direction of the camera their hands can't be all over him.
And honestly in the pictures I've seen I've never thought his hands looked like they were getting close to anyone's breasts, for me his hands are always a comfortable distance from the chest area firmly at the top of the arms/shoulders.

If you're not comfortable being touched though then yes you likely wouldn't be comfortable with him putting his hands there. Although I would imagine both Dan and Phil take the cues from fans and if someone comes up and opts not to open with a hug or try to touch them in any way they are not going to be touching them either. I mean that is just an assumption though and not something I know for sure they'd pick up on.

When celebrities have held no touching M&Gs (off the top of my head I think both Avril Lavigne and Mariah Carey have and a few other celebs) they have been slated by both the fans and the media alike. I think it's safe to say most of the fans paying for the M&G want there to be some touching involved and when celebs charge what they do for them they are expected to pony up.

Dan publicly supports Sanders, thus he is a sanders girl (this term being a joke of course). He follows his two official Twitter accounts and in a LS back in August, he said the following:

Dan: Yes, he really does seem like the best candidate. Doesn't he, at the moment? From what I can say as an incredibly uneducated B R I T I S H young person when it comes to American politics.

re: Molester Lester, I have to agree with the people that are disagreeing (? that sounds weird) about him being creepy, I think he's maintaining a safe distance while still showing the fans some affection. I think Dan is trying is best but staying in his comfort zone which is why it looks unbelievably awkward.

re: the Dan interview that HAD to be scripted, at least 98% of it, I can't see Dan (or Phil, especially Phil) going into anything where they didn't know exactly what was going to happen. Especially when that fic part came up, he would've been outta there no question. Also is that Phil who's kidnapping him at the end?

The first one was a lot earlier, but I don't know when. Context is that he was jealous upon seeing that she was dating Nicholas Holt.

Yeah I seen that too. But my favorite example of such behaviour was when Markiplier jokingly said in a video he had no idea what porn was and his comments were full of tweens helpfully explaining what it was complete with "I am 12 and I know that, how come you don't know"?

I can't recall the video nor the channel, but I read a 35-comment discussion on whether Dan and Phil were virgins It's very unsettling to see there are fans that can actually believe any of them are virgins and then there is this whole different group who send them extremely inappropriate messages (such as "my vagina is shaking" that was posted a few pages ago). Knowing Bertie Gilbert (vaguely remember his old vlogs now he's taken them down tbh), he can be a funny guy, that interview with Dan was totally tongue-in-cheek.

That Pikachu-hat photo they don't get that cosy in public, if anywhere, and it doesn't have the right hairstyles. Dan's fringe starts way back and Phil's hair is longer than that, plus his head is a different shape.

Younger flirty Phil was adorable, the longer choppy hair, slightly chubby (wrong word really, he wasn't, just not skinny like now) his cheeky smile was that much cuter... I wish I'd known of him back then. His shoulder-length hair earlier on was amazing too, such a mane.
