All I've been this evening is partially confused, partially on edge about Dan being in LA lmao. I think this can definitely only mean good things but good god Daniel please tell us why I'm so nosy!!!

Dan had dinner with Anthony tonight so it looks like it’s definitely just him in LA. Hope he gives us some kind of update to let us know how long he’ll be there

I didnt expect to wake up to life signs from Dan today but here we are! I hope we get to see a little bit of what he's up to in LA, if only a fancy coffee or the odd palm tree. At this point I'm happy for scraps.

Very curious about this LA trip, and even more so that some people apparently knew about? That second insta story seems near universal studios or am I stupid, is he getting some talks? Taking a course? Acting in something?? So much speculation, I can't really see him staying for that long in LA of all places all by himself, just doesn't seem his kind of vibe, but who knows really. V confused, v intrigued

Well, I see from the post times that this happened 10 whole minutes after I went to bed, wow, and that was way too late to be up anyway. So excited to see Daniel’s cute face this morning. I’m curious, but the joy of him posting is bigger. Talking of that, he looks that bit bigger than Anthony, as he is, and don’t you just want to squish him? Such a big lug. What a cheesy smile in his ig story, though, tbh I’m not sure Greta would fall for it, go plant a field of moss, Dan, srsly, I hear it’s good for the carbon.

I hadn’t heard any theories about Dan going to LA! But then I get all my phandom news from IDB. Please share links. I’m so curious.

The general response at the time was that it was just bored people making stuff up, but uh - well! Obviously the second one was right about Phil not going so I wonder if they were right about the amount of time too? That’s an awfully long time. But who knows. I wish anon #1 had been right instead, lol.

I also saw some posts on Twitter, similar messages being left in peoples curiouscat accounts (anonymous message site), though I don’t have links at the mo. Very weird!!

Maybe those anons were people involved in planning/booking the trip. Their fans are everywhere so I don't think it's unlikely that phandom members might have heard about this trip and couldn't keep it to themselves, lol. It's happened before, we just tend to not believe these people because too many others make stuff up for phandom attention.

I kind of love the idea of Dan just randomly being in LA and nobody knew before he got there. How sneaky was he at the airport this time? I love that for him, I hope he had a comfy flight. I can't say I'm too excited for whatever his project is at the moment but I do sure hope he's not just being active on social media again because the project will release soon. A lot has gone wrong lately but please can he at least tell us something about what he's up to before releasing it, I'm not asking for much anymore.

(Also I don't think it's weird Phil isn't there. Whatever Dan's doing, it doesn't involve Phil so why would he go? I get though that it would have been nice seeing them travel together for us but for them it's probably a lot less stressful like this.)

Anthony’s jumper is very Phil-esque, only it’s zebra striped where Phil’s is spotted While I’m curious, I don’t expect Dan to say anything until this project is about to drop. But just showing that things are happening is nice. It seems pretty clear that the Tumblr anons heard things second hand. And the second one (or whoever they heard it from) probably got late January and February confused for VidCon London. But who knows, if he’s staying there for over a month that’s even more fascinating. I also had the thought it was someone involved with booking, honestly I’m glad it was dismissed at the time. The husband commented that Dan is better looking, which got into an interesting discussion about what features society deems as “handsome”... tl;dr Dan is a tol soft boy.

Oh yes, Dan is the softest tol boy. I just rewatched his quizzes video and wow, forgot how funny it was. He rather needed a hug after it, though.

my immediate reaction this am when i saw the fan photo with dan & anthony was that it looked a little awkward in a way i couldn’t put my finger on, and after a few moments i realized: phil wasn’t there the give him his “side” of the picture! lmao

(mostly, i’m glad that dan reaches out to people he considers mentors, i think it’s probably good for his head & keeping him grounded ...even if those people are..anthony.)

*raises a glass* to ig stories of anthony’s tiny puppy & the mental picture of phil’s quiet giggles while watching them! (it’s what happened in my head even if we never get proof.)

find myself wondering if anthony would interview dan for his series. idk what category dan would fall in for that, but it's a thought.

Only way Phil is there is if the viewer in the picture was alone & wasn't an AmazingPhil viewer and everyone respected that and Phil took the picture or they didn't want anyone to know Phil was there, too. Or he was in the bathroom/getting gifts/exhausted and sleeping in the hotel. Or since Dan and Anthony are more famous than Phil in terms of followers, she posted that pic and not the one with Phil for clout or knew her friends wouldn't care about the Phil one. However, it's definitely, definitely more likely it's a solo trip for a secret project/video.

Also the fact that Phil retweeted something earlier at what would have been 3:30am in LA. I know he keeps weird hours sometimes but I think it’s more likely he’s just at home.

I don't actually think he's gonna film with Anthony, I think Dan's got a lot of personal emphasis on friends being friends and not career advancement tools (which he'd be for Anthony right now), but even if he did... I think the context is so wildly different that I'm not sure how I'd feel. Like on one hand, yeah - bad. Because Phil is who I want to see him with and it'd sting. But on the other hand, he hasn't had a decade long relationship with Anthony entangled in media presence that he's learning to prioritize above and outside of a mutual career. So filming with Anthony wouldn't have the personal weight that filming with Phil would, either.

I’ve enjoyed the videos he’s made with Anthony in the past so would not be opposed to a collab. I doubt he’s gonna make anything jointly with Phil other than voice appearances for a good long while, if ever.

Fft, man out there hiking in the fresh air, it’s funny that he does that sometimes after all the ‘exercise, nope’. Probably got a lovely view of California too.

I wouldn’t mind if he filmed something with Anthony. It would be a shame if the only thing holding him back from making stuff that he feels like making is concern about it not being with phil. (I don’t really think it is but I’m just saying hypothetically...). Of course I like watching them together but I also totally get why they wouldn’t want to film together anymore. If Dan wanted to be a famous person with an online platform again without Phil, I’m totally down for it. I’ve been enjoying solo Phil a lot. I’m sure I’d enjoy solo Dan too. If I’d been responding to that possibility last year, I think it would have made me feel bad too. But now I’m resolved to nothing from Dan at all, so anything other than merch is a huge step up in my mind.
