To me it sounds like Dan is quoting someone but that doesn't make sense, does it

It actually kinda sounds like Dan has made a bitchy comment and got caught out, I don't think it's actually got anything to do with Phil now

Still I don't think it's anything too personal because as much as they didn't expected to be "betrayed" by the girl they still don't know her.

Recently antiphanproof posted about an antiphan's mum who happened to be a psychic. Supposedly she read that Dan and Phil were going to get married and have children with lovely women yadda yadda. Dan was to marry a woman named Allison and he would die in a car crash or something like that

To me it still sounded like someone said Phil had a bird nose and Dan complained about it (typical) and then was comfortin Phil at the end, but that's just me

Guys the snap is super easy to find, just add her username and she doesn't require acceptance or anything. It's about 7 in on her story atm. If you don't have snapchat its v quick to set up too.

And yeah, y'all know I live for this kind of shit but it doesn't sound affectionate to me in any way. Sounds like he was either quoting like a few of us have already said, or saying it to someone he really doesn't actually like lol, maybe when backed into a corner. Like the kind of tone you take when someone's had a really shitty hair cut and you go 'yeah.. I love your new hair'. Also seems more likely to me than him saying /anything/ about loving Phil in public. The HD pics of the panel do that for him

I'm kinda angry at the girl for recording Dan and Phil without their knowledge. What I'm assuming is that the car they got into was a shuttle just for YT/vine/musical.y/whatever creators at Vidcon, probably shuttling them between the hotel and the convention center or to a party or something, so when Dan and Phil got into the car they probably assumed that they could trust whoever was in it to not record them and respect their space, but then here she is recording them anyway. If she knows anything about Dan and Phil she should know they won't like that. I think it was disrespectful and it's feeding into Dan and Phil not associating with vloggers/other creators because they don't trust them. This girl breached their trust and is showing them that they can't trust other creators, so who can they trust with their secrets? the answer I guess is nobody.

I can't help but feel that whatever the context is it doesn't sound like anything that would apply to anyone but Phil...?
Whatever the meaning behind it I'm not looking forward to the inevitable spread on Tumblr

I think "Dan and Phil in the background of Lilly's Vlog" really captures the essence of who they are: literally in the midst of a huge party, they're alone together in their own special world with a trademark lack of personal space for any antiphans out there - not phanproof. I know, "the room was really, really loud and they were having an important conversation about work-related things #completelyplatonic"

Loved looking through all the professional photos. My phantasy is that one day they'll walk a red carpet holding hands. I'd love a wedding video, but would settle for that.

Uh yeah I agree with the people saying Dan just sounds like he's quoting or repeating what someone said (maybe a fan said it to Phil and Dan complained afterward within earshot). He's not saying it in an affectionate way, he's not declaring his love to Phil in a car full of strangers, I mean really? Also I highly doubt they have any expectation of privacy at these things, in the first snap the girl says hi to Phil (who no doubt could see the phone in her hands), I wouldn't consider her snapping a betrayal of any trust because there's no trust to begin with, they're all strangers in a car. D&P aren't stupid or naive, come on guys.

Aw karma_yeah that just made me sad, did you watch Jimmy0010's recent vid on homophobia? He said he's been with his bf for 7 years and they've never held hands in public. And he's not on D&P's level of recognition. Even without that aspect, I don't think that's something we're likely to see, not their style.

Agreed with this. Depressing. They could be as public a couple as there ever was and I don't think they'd ever hold hands in a public setting. In fact, I imagine that in an alternate universe where D&P decide to admit they're together/engaged/adopting, literally nothing in terms of their public image would change. At least they would try to ensure it didn't.

No, I haven't seen it, but that's exactly the kind of thing that breaks my heart. Consensual loving relationships between 2 adults should not stir up so much hatred. I won't go into my rant on hate speech and bigotry.

I can't figure out the context of the snapchat either. It does sound like someone said something about Phil and Dan defended him and got grief for it. Hope the IDB super Sherlocks can gather some context. (And lbr, Dan and Phil could release a copy of a marriage certificate and a video of their wedding and there will still be a few people who say "they're just friends, it's for tax purposes", etc. etc. which is fine. To each his/her/their own )
