I loved the bit of the liveshow where he was showing the footage of him recording the audio. I love those awkward (in my opinion at least) behind-the-scenes shots/unedited footage and what have you. Did he say something about possibly uploading it as a side channel video? Because

Also at the IDB mention: I'm not even that regular of a poster (side-eyes my post count in comparison to some of yours, even though I've been here since the birth) but when he said that I froze and felt my heart drop. It gave me a rush of anxiety more than anything, as if I just got caught doing something bad by a parent.

Nodding at what Amiaw said and the last lines of missemma's post, his self-deprecation, though jokey and so he doesn't seem like an arrogant wonk who takes all the praise and himself seriously, is something I find quite sad and I hope he figures out how to be true to himself without such negativity. He's young yet, it took me years and I still slip into it because whatever we practise, we get better at, the brain builds on skills that way to make it easier.

Also yes to the doctor giving him more stuff. Fgs, boy, tell the doctor you're doing ten two-man shows after a flight to Australia so you have a hope of being well enough.

Funny comment about Phil in black, he must have seen how the phandom has a minor meltdown every time that happens, we're too busy fanning ourselves to see him how Dan described him. The idb shoutout was funny especially since he did that awkward way he does when he's asked to do it. I can imagine him not loving the forum's content for reasons mentioned above and also busgate. We know we don't really mean anything by it and, tour/drought-moaning aside, have a lot of positivity, but from his point of view it's probably more

Best part was acknowledging he'd let out a load of stuff he'd kept to himself for years, that sounded like a real thing amidst all the "roasts are all just jokes don't think about it you deserve all your feelings". I wouldn't expect he's going to start confronting anything or making any big changes with how much he shares, it's been a gradual process already and I expect that's how it'll continue. Interesting way he said it, he might have meant confronting things himself rather than sharing, since he says he always represses and puts things in a box.

The end was sweet when he was worried he'd miss us next week, it's nice that he likes doing them and has that time to talk to us about whatever he wants to say, address etc.

Besides bitching about the tour, I don't think that people are harsh here at all. I would like to think that someone like Dan would like honest reactions to his videos, and all of the analyzing is just icing on the cake ( icing that I personally don't think should bother him? Sexuality/ Phan: idk I think it's always been a part of his media presence)

The best description of how it made me feel. Slightly queasy anxiety. I don't want to ever think about them reading anything I'm writing about them. Whether they do or not, I don't ever want to know that or have to directly face it.

maybe you are just a tough person then because I think a lot of the critics are pretty harsh. yeah honest and unfiltered but still harsh. that roast from tumblr that you posted today is a great example. And that is his fans that are saying that kind of stuffs lol.
As for seeking honest reactions to his videos, yeah I guess Dan wants that but there is a threshold when criticism, even if it comes from a good place, actually just turns negative for the recipient, especially with someone like Dan who is already pretty self-depreciative. Overanalyzing is the same, I am pretty sure for someone who tends to be insecure, having all your flows dissected and discussed by complete stranger mustn't be great.

I can see this forum as being both good and bad. Flattering that a community is sprouting out of your presence online. Flattering that we all care enough to spend lots of time talking about them. Flattered that they make us so happy.

But all your points are also valid. So I think the forum's existence is probably bittersweet to D&P, but I think it's safe to say they may do a little lurking now if they haven't already. Maybe.

Dear Dan, if you are reading this, know that I am a perfectly sane, normal, and logical person who absolutely does not make dolls out of human hair and who's bedroom is at least 85% not spiders.

Nobody is really cruel here, but I can imagine that it would be uncomfortable to read huge in depth analysis about every aspect of your life. Can you imagine if he read during busgate? I can see why he would think this forum is creepy as fuck because even I didn't like that. But even if we wrote only positive things I think Dan would still find this site weird, i don't blame him. It must be hard to read this kind of stuff about yourself.

However, we have just as much right to discuss Dan and Phil as tumblr and twitter do! So as long as things don't cross the line here I don't think its a problem.

I mean I see your point but I don't think that we dissect all of his flaws. I don't think that we bash who he is as a person as well- we bash his media presence. I do see how that could be hard for him to read, but I don't think he would hate us for it ( I hope that he wouldn't). The fact that he used to spend time of 4chan and Reddit makes me think he could have a threshold for harshness

i haven't been keeping up with d&p for a little while now but i actually loved dan's ryc video and the fact that i'm here is probably a sign i'm getting in to them again. i feel like most things about the video has already been said though, so i don't have much to add right now.

Comments she made about being a weirdo in the past and why the phandom hates her on Shane Dawson's podcast released yesterday: How she hesitated trying to explain who the fuck charlieskies was is kind of hilarious. I wish they had gotten a little more... in-depth? See what I did there?

I mean this is kind of what I was thinking of earlier with Dan's YT acquaintances and him more firmly putting the 'I'm into dudes' thing out into the world. Like can Emma straight up say 'Yeah we were assholes mocking his possible sexuality' now? Rather than vaguely mentioning 'twitter drama'? Because he opened the window a little bit? I mean who wants to drag up the specifics at this point, but hypothetically it's less of a taboo thing to acknowledge, right? I don't think I'm getting across what I mean, but whatever.

Makes me wonder if he actually did catch any heat for his comments about D+P in the past, and that's why he's been laying off the D+P mentions recently.

Don't get me wrong... I understand the many reasons why they left things off at "Interesting" and "Yeah. It sucks.", but ugh... Just give me a drop of tea. Is that too much to ask?

I would have greatly appreciated even something as small as 'Oh yeah, why did that other friend hate them?' and seeing what kind of answer we'd get to that. But no, talking about queefs for 15 minutes was more important. Clearly. What a waste.

Oh yeah and she confirmed being bi everybody. So maybe a little reflection on the fucked-ness of being a bi person (did she struggle with that at any point in time?) mocking another person's sexuality who at the time didn't want it out there would be worth something. He won't, Shanes got a lot more PR savvy lately, and as an example someone asked Trish if she'd collab with D&P a few weeks ago on Twitter, she replied "who?" And got attacked a lot quicker by phans than the fishies had chance to keep up with, and Shanes got shit to sell so I doubt he'd do anything to put off any potential customers audience members any time soon.

Have to love Dan and Phil- they give us a whole lot of nothing and then hit us with so much all at once. Everyone's thoughts on the ls and the dinof video have been great.

If Phil does the challenge I hope he makes it good.
