The video was really fun, it's nice to see a game that Phil takes charge in, and the bants were great. I do wanna rewatch because there was so much said and they both seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I liked the video a lot. The gameplay wasn't all that interesting but I loved their banter and Phil seemed a lot less on brand. And wow, Dan let Phil play even after Phil asked him if he wanted to take turns, what kind of alternate universe do we live in now?

Phil wins today for me, if you couldn't tell by the rest of this post.

gonna be unpopular here and say I'm not sure about the video. Sonic is one of my all time favourite games and watching them being soooooo frigging bad at it just makes me want to him them over the head with the switch controllers. I'm surprised dan has never played it before seeing as there was a sonic compilation game that came out on the ps2 which included all of the old school games. I love the gaming channel and their bants were spot on but wow I find them frustrating when they're playing a game I'm really into
(Am here for the innuendos though, especially dans "im mounting the dong").

That was such a satisfying video, I loved it! Phil controlling it, Dan acknowledging Phil being better, Phil making some racy comments/references, Dan talking about Phil getting blue balls, the flashback to 2010 gaming... I'm gonna love doing timestamps for this one later.

(Though Emma, I totally get how watching them badly play a game that you like can be frustrating. I still can't get into their Minecraft video for that reason.)

Holy shit, I actually laughed out loud at some parts of this video.
This felt more unfiltered and rushed, and Dan was breaking the 4th wall a few times, and looked a bit tired and done with it, which made for a really funny video overall.

I'm having to rewatch it because I felt like I missed a lot, but I thoroughly enjoyed how relaxed and natural it felt. It seemed less about the game, maybe because Dan wasn't really playing, more of them just casually hanging out and I'm here for that tbh.

I think everything I have to say has already been said, but those innuendos were great and I love seeing Phil playing a game that he's good at! Pretty fun video overall, though I think my attention was somewhat elsewhere so I'll have to rewatch

I didn't even catch that the first time around. I need to rewatch this video like five more times.

Holy shit. I loved that. It was so natural. And Phil was in charge of like... everything. Even the conversation. And they played a game that threw me back to the good old days.

I just..... I don't think there's anything I even remotely disliked. Definitely a new fave.

Such a good video! I loved Phil being in charge of the gameplay and just that he seemed so hyped to play the game. A+ bants and innuendo from both. Definitely a game I could see them livestream in the future as the levels are pretty quick to complete. Also wondering how Dan got into Sonic roleplaying when he didn't seem to know much about the story of the game or seemed to have played the game all that much.

I loved that video. It was so good!!! I much prefer fast pased videos, because I tend to get bored during slower ones. I love it when Phil takes control of the game play. I also like how it seemed less persona heavy. Time is also ticking for another DITL and I really really really want one.

I think this is a pre vacation recorded video and it feels like it was the last one recorded after a long stretch of playing games/recording. They just felt more natural and more into the game than usual (especially Phil) and I think that made the whole thing really enjoyable.

oh my god i am living for them playing my favorite video game franchise ever yes pls. phil in charge? hell yea man. phil was not taking any of dan's shit today haha. they just both seemed so..enthusiastic and more.. relaxed if that makes sense. they didn't seem over the top..persona-y (i dislike using that but idk what else to use sorry) but.. dang i am living for more dip and dot playing my favorite game franchise. Ah that video was so good! I definitely think Phil's comment towards the end saying "maybe we should adopt that as our pet" as if they're seriously having talks about getting a pet is significant.

The last few days have been a blessing for Phil pics. Amen.

The gaming video made me laugh out loud more times than I have in a while for their videos. I'm very much getting that "third-wheel" feel more than ever before, and I don't think they've ever put out a video as fun as this one.

Things I loved:
1. Phil acknowledging his age.

2. Phil taking the lead and their resulting dynamic. For one, Dan was so chill and sweet in this video, both praising Phil and allowing him to natter on and comment without interrupting him. It's kind of nice for once to be in a situation where it's either even game-play or mostly/entirely Phil, as the gaming channel is nearly entirely dominated by Dan's play. I understand that this is probably what they are most comfortable with, so that's what makes the change in this recent video all the better.

3. I feel more like an "onlooker" than ever before, and I feel like I am truly watching two friends play a game together that they love. At times, it felt as if they had completely forgotten that they were recording and were just talking, back-and-forth, and as people pointed out often very quickly and nearly muttering. Some of their humour and referencing was so strange and I feel as if a lot of it were in-jokes or at times, comments that held no meaning but the other would still appreciate and were used to fill the silence. Their sexual and furry jokes made it seem all the more that they were meant to be "performing" and this is merely the usual banter they have with each other in private, Dan remarking that he wanted Tails and Sonic to make-out seemed like an in look on the kind of cringey, jokey things they otherwise would leave out. I'm starting to think they didn't actually mean to upload this video and it's for their secret collection lol. It was hard to keep up, but that's what made it seem all the more entertaining and made we rewind to listen to again.

4. Phil was just so bubbly this episode, and his speech was particularly all over the place and he seemed to go in circles and was a bit jittery. I notice that at times, Phil is his "normal" bubbly self where he seems to speak normally and at a reasonable pace, however at other times he sort of speaks very jittery, runs his words together, stammers and repeats himself. He word flubs, gesticulates wildly with his hands to find stability in the sort of run-on of meaningless related words to find coherence in the sentence and probably continues on with a quick, "anyway!". He usually doesn't do this very often, mostly just when he's particularly excited or is trying to articulate something otherwise a bit difficult, but this video felt particularly prevalent with this "kind" of Phil speech. It made me at times have to rewind and listen closely as I would miss things he'd say. This was particularly prevalent towards the end in their "end screen" where he was going off in a tangent, following a rhythm that's nearly like muscle memory, and not even realizing they were in end screen and then his little flustered moment and his joke of floundering in the little end screen box. This kind of talking in circles thing he does is interesting, he seems to do it when he has to talk a lot or is taking the lead. 5. This video just grounded me on how much of a furry Dan is. I forget, then come here and make a post just to remind everyone. Then have to deal with comments that I don't understand "irony". Lads, I'm not a furry, I don't know much about the culture, but Dan's pretty fucking explicit thus far. I've made a lot of bitter posts about this topic about whether Dan is genuine or disingenuous about it. This video has not helped my passivity.

Conclusions: Definitely needs a re-watch! Everyone should watch this! They game play was terrible but this is Dan and Phil we don't go here for walkthroughs. We come for the queerbait arguments and furry discourse.

Honestly writing commentary for this was hard because everything they said went so fast and they mumbled a lot like hold the fuck up boys I can't keep up :')

- I noticed the cat shirt in the laundry pile in Dan's university video, but didn't think he'd actually wear it again. I like it, though it's a bit snug these days. Boy became a man.
- That 2010 flashback tho. But now we know Dan probably only played Sonic at Phil's flat while waiting for the washing machine cycle to finish..
- Phil sweetie, your hair honest to God looks worse these days than it did back then. At least it wasn't so choppy.

- Tails is closer to Dan's fursona. Alrighty then.
- Dan's furry past gets exposed by himself. Phil is not bothered, true love right there.
- AGE DIFFERENCE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. Shit don't ask me why those things really do it for me cause idk I think I have issues. I just really love it when they talk about their childhoods and the minor differences in experiences that a few years apart can bring. And idk there was something sweet about it like Dan seemed a bit shy about it, maybe because it's just this nostalgia thing that really means a lot of Phil but he can't really relate and that's rare for them at this point? And then Phil also seemed a bit shy about acknowledging that he is a bit older but he also made a joke out of it at the same time and that's great? Why am I writing an essay on a 10 second exchange in this damn video?

Sorry I forgot this is a tad bit off-topic, but seeing 2010 Phil's hair vs today's video makes me wonder what style you guys prefer? I've always preferred it pushed back, but I have a soft spot for quiffs I don't usually mind the fringe much but the volume has decreased so much that I'm not so fond of it anymore, plus it's a bit choppy

I dunno maybe I care too much but my inner hair dresser hurts a bit, I cut my own hair sometimes and I'd love to get my hands on Phils :twisted: change it up a bit...

Don't think I ever noticed it before (has it always been there?) that Wirrow lists London/ Cyprus in his geo tag on his twitter bio. I know he's Greek, so I take it that's where he grew up—maybe their Mediterranean couples holiday was in Cyprus.
