Okay gaming video. Can understand why they waited to put it up and left it unedited for a while. Just a filer gaming video really.
They are really bad at it! Wish they did more where they both controlled but I think Dan was getting bored with it tbh.

The best bit was the ribena #Spon! Mad me laugh.

I will be upset if they do undertale week instead of spooky week. Undertale would have been a great series if they did it more often (and cared about it more)

off to catch up with 4 ls and discussions that I have missed while I have been on holiday

Tbh, it was pretty boring, but then when my sister played it and I watched her playing I found it boring too so maybe it's just the game itself that's boring and it couldn't be saved by the bants. On rewatch, it was better.

There were things I found interesting however. Thoughts on the vid under the cut:
The floating head camo joke was cheeky though it's a tired joke.
Dan in pajamas! I wish Phil showed his too and they could have a pajama day online.
Was there really a dog outside? How the hell did it's noise reach the office? Isn't the office on the 3rd floor? Even if there was a dog they couldn't see it unless it was floating.
Casual drinking of ribena made it seem like a casual hangout with a friend.
I want a snake with a fringe!
Sluggypops (Dan: Like an onomatopoeia; Me: I don't think you know what that word means. ). The synchronized "woah" was cute.
Dan banging the table again makes my ear hurts.
Dan: That was a flop, with a ph.
Dan: What's with people being good at this game? Phil: It's like they played it before or something.
As someone who is terrified of snakes, I'm so glad I'm not Phil's mom. echoing Dan when he said: She found it funny? What is wrong with Mrs. Lester?!?
Phil backing out of the vid because he got so surprised made me laugh.
The "where is the sassy rainbow?" song was cute.
Dan: It's called Little America, there's nothing little about you bruh.
Phil's little giggle when Dan bit his own fingers sounded so sincere and fond.
Phil's eyelashes in his eyes. That's so uncomfortable.
Dan: Oh my shitting shit on my face.
Dan's face when they died.
Phil's giggles make me giggle too.
Fave moment:
Dan: Stop looking at them with those eyes. With those s----- *stops abruptly*
Phil: Snakey eyes (trying to save Dan's slip up there aren't you?).

P: What are you doing?

Deppy, kings of doing shit everyone else on YouTube already did 5 decades ago. This time it's Slither.io which I thought/kinda hoped they had forgotten about. But ok, new video so my bitch ass shouldn't complain.

- Not even a minute in and what I said just now got dragged lmao oops. Fine Deppy, I'll calm down.
- DOG
- Casually sipping Ribena while filming again.
- 'You're at an impressive length' and other sentences I didn't think I would ever hear from Dan's mouth.
- Flop with a ph. Floph. That's like the entirety of IDB. We're all Living Flophs.
- Phil really wanted to swear right there lol.
- 'What is wrong with Mrs. Lester?' Dan, don't make an enemy out of your mother in law.
- I could go all about Dan choosing the rainbow snake. I could.
- 'I APPRECIATE THEM BUT IDC' me about tatinof/tabinof/dapgo i guess
- The bit with them talking about what the comments were gonna be like was amusing, kinda felt like peaking into a real life conversation. Best part of the video tbh.
- Nooooooooo, this really doesn't need a DvsP revisit...

It was ok. It's a really boring game in general, so I don't really blame D&P for this being a bit of a boring video.

Call me cynical but I'm struggling to believe that they'd post a lot more in October than usual lol. I kinda took this to mean "the film and documentary is coming in October and also maybe spooky week" and not so much as "please do continue to enjoy the video spree because we're going to post even more next month!"

The video was alright. The game wasn't very interesting but D&P were entertaining. Also maybe I'm making something out of nothing, but 9:00 struck me as interesting. Dan says "No stop zooming! I can't control it" and it seemed very natural (and whiny) to me. He didn't say it with his normal DINOF "Phil you flop/loser/dumb-ass/etc." tone of voice, it was refreshing
blueapple_x wrote:I interpreted that tweet to mean "you think we're posting a lot of videos now? Just wait until October hits" (as in they will be posting a lot in October lol). Most likely in reference to spooky week where they'll post consecutive videos throughout one week.
I was thinking this too.

Thought it was v. funny. And could actually understand what was going on, whereas with some of the other gaming videos (e.g. the last one) I lose track a bit.

Dan should just go around in his pyjamas tbh because he looks great in both the camo top and the Australian one he wore last ls

Their reactions when they lost at the end were hilarious, and the 'what is wrong with Mrs Lester' story made me laugh too. Phil doing the snake arms at the end was so cute

Synchronized drinking, Dan's saying Phil's eyes are sexy, seeing them work as a team playing together

I agree it wasn't amazing, but it made me laugh which is all I ask for. Grade B.

I'll be honest: the surprise of yet another video from them so soon was more delightful than the video itself. That being said, I always enjoy their excitability with the games, even meh ones like this. Moments:

- Not!fashionforward Dan
- "Calm down...fuck!"
- Their profiles when they look at the dog
- #notaspon
- JackSepticEye envy. I confess, I put on his let's plays every now and then in the background when I'm doing other things. I like him too,
- The way Dan was holding his head when he was saying everyone will tell them to delete their channel
- Phil: Shhhhhh--; Dan: Oh my shitting shit on my face!

And, of course:

By the way, the "what's wrong with Mrs. Lester" part got me thinking. Do we know how they refer to each other's parents other than Mr./Mrs. Lester/Howell and Phil/Dan's mom/dad? Cause in our culture, we call our friend's parents something like Aunt/Uncle. I'm not that familiar with British culture, so I don't know if there's a counterpart. Just a random thought that's been plaguing my mind for the last few minutes. :?

I was just talking about this to Ickle and kuen. I was under the impression that once you're married or in a long-term stable realtionship, you call your in-laws or SO's parents by "mom" and "dad." Ickle claims that that's not a thing in British culture at all, but I'm pretty sure that's a thing in American culture...I'm interested in what others think about this, but it occured to me as well, he probably wouldn't call her Mrs. Lester to her face, probably at least by her first name.

I'm going to go ahead and allude to the swear word fanservice. What I mean is I don't think it was that organic, I think they wouldn't have left it in the video if it had been a real slip up. He may have stopped deliberately...?

*takes cover and prepares to be attacked*

What I mean is I think Dan was probably just going to say something non-phan about Phil's eyes but realised it could be interpreted as a phan comment, so he stopped. But then they decided to put it in the video anyway.

But I still think them putting something that obviously phan-related in the video is positive because to me it shows they don't mind people watching it interpreting them as a couple

I know I call close friends parents by their first name. It would feel strange to say Ms. Hall instead of Lupe. Dan tends to self edit while he speaks though, so its possible he was just being formal. (Im not British though, just a filthy Californian with no manners)

Lol Same, kind of (re: what I bolded). And that's why if they're talking about the film+doc and spooky week, that sounds like a lot to me. It's just not spaced out. But that would be at least 7 videos next month.

But anyway, the tweet Dan was responding to was basically saying "why so many videos in one week?"....so that's why I think his response was more specific to one week in Oct where they'll be uploading multiple videos in that time frame (undertale week and/or spooky week) rather than the whole month of Oct. Just my interpretation/prediction. I'm hoping they do an undertale and a spooky week though!

choosing the rainbow snake shouldn't mean anything but he had to know the implications it would cause by him choosing it. since he knows how people would interpret it, he was choosing it thinking "i don't care if you make those assumptions" or "i want you to make those assumptions." (sorry, i'm defiantly overthinking this ).

I found this video funny and cute :D I'm not expecting uber reactions like from Undertale or whatever so I appreciated it for what it was.

As for names we usually call them like Mrs/Mr [first name] if we are familiar with them. The Mr/Mrs is still a respect thing but using the first name sounds more close and less formal. But it really depends on the people, tbh. I had a friend whose parents I referred to with surnames, and others with whom I ditched the mr/mrs completely.

Now I'm off to gif, excuse me

yeah as for rainbow snake he would definitely know what people would think (although honestly it's cute af on its own) but he was probably being cheeky about it imo

as far as i know from personal experience i don't know anyone who refers to their partners parents as their own in the sense of calling them 'mum and dad' over 'my mother in law / father in law' ofc everyone is different but as far as my own uneducated speculation goes i would assume he just refers to phils parents by their first names to their face

I wouldn't be surprised if he normally calls her by her first name and just didn't want to say it in the video. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Phil has ever said her first name in a video/online??

My 2 cents
1. I thought he was going to say sneaky eyes, because they were sneaky. It was definitely an se/si sound though. sexy, sinful, silly? Could be he just reads too much fic and it has infiltrated his vocabulary ;)

2. It was going to be a snake based pun and he stopped himself because he can't be heard making a pun. Its disgraceful.

I don't think it's typical for children/young people in the UK to address adults they meet outside of a school setting formally. I know where I'm from (further north then Phil) everyone addressed their friends parents by their first names and it wasn't considered rude it was just what you were told to call them. I remember watching American TV shows when I was young and they'd have like the rebel kid call the main kids parents by their first names and they'd look utterly horrified at the audacity and I'd be wondering why that would upset them.
I don't know if it's different in other areas but as far as I'm aware with most people it's not the done thing so Dan probably just calls them the first names when talking to them.
And yeah I'm with Ickle on the mom and dad thing that's not a thing typically done in the UK. I actually have a friend whose in-laws asked her to refer to them as mom and dad and I remember it being a big thing for a while because of how odd she found it. It's not unheard of but it's definitely not standard here.
