Have you ever met a person with really long toes?

My first college roommate literally did the same thing. If there was any possible way she could reach it with her feet, she was going to pick it up with her toes. And then put it back so she could call me into the room and tell me to watch how she could do it.

I grab stuff with my toes too sometimes, of off the floor because it's convenient, or close/open drawers and doors.
But lifting your foot on a counter that is within arm's reach is another story, kind of exaggerated far-fetched.

I open doors with my feet just for the heck of it. I started doing it when I was carrying things and didn't want to put them down but now I just do it even if my hands are free just because. I don't think it's too far fetched.

I liked the video a lot. But Phil could talk about any old thing and I'd like it, I just like the way he tells stories. I'm just sad his pecan pie got burnt after he ordered it online and was so excited for it. Aw.

Dan uses them to talk things out (with himself. while we watch), whereas Phil is just having a casual chat with us like we're Janis at the shop. He doesn't see it as an outlet for his thoughts and/or frustrations, which is a big 'duh' but the constant complaint/(?) that Dan gets talked about and analyzed more just comes down to that. The internet to Phil is a group of Janises, always there for a casual chat while he picks up some milk. The internet to Dan is a friend and an enemy (maybe a cannibal) that won't leave him alone because he won't leave us alone because we all care too much about what the other thinks.

Also I turn on lights with my feet when my elbow could do a perfectly good job so I support Phil in his 'feet-as-hands' efforts.

I think their stories can be put together to have it make sense in this case. Phil said they noticed the gas smell got worse in 2017 so that's why they had the gas man over (they called him over). Dan said when he was reading the meter they were informed of the leak. That's how I understood it.

I love the difference in how they talk about each other. I always say Dan speaks "couple speak" most of the time. (Just a term I and people I associate with use, not necessarily have to be used by couples. Friends and relatives use it too.) As in he speaks like he has someone else in his life (bff, bf, roommate, actor he hired to follow him around whatever you choose to believe...) Where Phil still mainly speaks as a single entity. I find it interesting/ amusing the difference. I used to think it was like a forced separatist way of speaking (i.e. phil's form of no-homo), but it seems like his natural way of expressing himself. It makes me wonder if it throws his irl friends for a loop. When he says a generic statement do they too wonder if Dan was also with him at *random social event/movie/other form of entertainment* or do they just assume that they were both there (sorry this is a mess, multitasking).

I love this analysis of how they view us/the internet/their viewers. I never really thought of it that way but I like to think of us as a bunch of Janises. I agree that may be how Dan views us as well. A kind of love-hate relationship. (A good outlet to vent to, but also a source of irritation. He doesn't want us going nowhere)

I liked the ls more than the actual video? The gift haul at the beginning was cute, the rest of the video was a bit eh. I liked the re-enactment parts, but I always like when he (they, actually) throw more of that stuff in videos as opposed to just telling a story straight on into the camera. Also I'm living for Phil in his backwards cap but for the love of God can he unbutton his top button he looks like he's getting choked by his shirts every time he wears them like that

I loved both the ls and the video, really missed Phil and seeing them looking forward to this year makes me really happy. I sometimes need to remind myself how incredibly taxing doing a worldwide tour alongside everything else must have been for them and that they deserve the utmost love and support.

Doesn't the Uk have mandatory gas installation safety inspections like the rest of europe?

My landlord sends someone around every year to check my gas appliances and for leaks etc. That is another reason I think it's odd it's taken 4 years to discover.

what about gas detectors, aren't those mandatory everywhere there is a gas installation to automatically shut down gas if there is a leak?

I have a carbon monixide detector installed by my landlord, so by law they should have one too I think. If not they should invest in one.

Carbon Monoxide is a byproduct of combustion - it's not part of piped "natural" gas (as it's called in the US,) thus undetectable by a CO detector. That doesn't mean it is not detrimental to your health, particularly when reaching explosive concentrations The hazard is in the displacement of O2, but breathing trace quantities in areas that have adequate air exchange is not considered harmful.

Really enjoyed the video—he can turn a few bits of randomness and otherwise mundane anecdotes, into a fun little narrative. Firstly, he looked great—might just be Phil's best haircut IMO—and his personality was still very much AmazingPhil, but maybe with a touch less of the trying-too-hard-to-be-inoffensive-yet-zany that sometimes comes across a bit off-putting... in all the whole production just seemed crisp: the pacing, the lighting, cutaways, editing, etc.

I wonder who "Santa" is that gave him the jumper and rainbow unicorn? He named everyone else, Dan, parents, brother... who else is close enough to gift those very Phil (yet very flamboyant gifts)—maybe Bryony & Wirrow, or Cornelia, or a secret santa he does with other friends? If not though, who else? Hot off the heels of #cardgate, I'd love to imagine Dan's parents also get him something—I mean, nothing would say "I approve of your non-traditional domestic situation and choice of life partner" as much as a rainbow freakin' unicorn (which, might as well be the brand mascot of LGBT+ pride).
