I always found the glitch hoodie to be really random too, and thought it would link to something else alongside the 'to be continued' message
There is also the possibility that it had to do with a project that was supposed to be out already but got delayed. In the world of creative production that depends on a company, funding, or outside opinions - the chances of something getting killed or delayed far far outweigh the chances of it successfully making it into the world.

PhandomGives and PhandomWatch (both projects started by IDBers!) are teaming up for a 33 hour charity livestream for Phil's birthday. Thirty three is a lot of hours so we're looking for some volunteer moderators to help us out.
It'll happen over the 25th/26th - and early into 27th in some timezones - and particularly seeking Asia/Oceania timezones. If you're interested, hit me up and I'll let you know more about what it entails!

I don't think it's going to happen, but Tyler could be the safest bet for Dan to return-collab with. Two of Dan's top-ten videos are with Tyler, and Tyler's #4 video is with Dan. This strongly suggests that loads of people (besides me) love to see them together.
I always loved to see them together. I found Dan through one of his collabs with Tyler, believe it or not. And I think they had great chemistry together, although it's been a while, who knows if that's still the case?
The way I missed his face.. a lot is an understatement. Good to see him, now I'll be back in 2-3 months for his next selfie

Maybe at the end of this thread we should split into a Dan Part 1 and a Phil Part 1? Twice the naming fun! I mean, there hasn’t been anything joint other than Phil’s instagram from the VR cafe in quite a while. I’d honestly be up for it. Let’s try honoring their wish to be professionally separate. After all they seem to be flaunting that they even are farther apart geographically than they’ve been in 9 years! And maybe a bit of reverse psychology (or superstition - knock on wood) will make some joint video content happen!

absolutely not. i can hardly keep up with one relatively quiet thread; god knows what two interconnected ones would be like. despite their distancing, they will be associated with each other for a long time to come - especially if future plans are kept vague and hidden

On one hand I would love to finally have some conversation centering around Phil's plans without the usual where is Dan/what is Dan doing to interfere like it seems to always happen, on the other conversations would probably be the same in the long run because Phil does name Dan in his liveshows and stuff from time to time, they're still personally associated and that is undeniable. Depending on their projects that could be a different thing. The phandom is still a united being (mostly)

I’d find that so sad. Not sure where some stuff would go, do we squee much over the pair of them these days? They still do some stuff together like their premieres and holidays.

I actually wonder if they’re still in California. She posted that picture at about 4am west coast time and he was active on twitter around the same time as well. They could have an early call time or they could be home

I am.. so confused. Am I the only one? If is about something dan is hoping to be produced, wouldn't it be easier for him to work with BBC? Given that he already has knowledge of people working there? Or is he going to work in something else produced by them? I don't know what to think.

CBS is owned by Viacom and they have a bunch of channels like Comedy Central but they also stream things so it could be that he was serious about comedy?

A lot of creative people in the media that I follow just are constantly pitching ideas to see what will stick. It's this constant round of rejection and then the occasional project that takes off. I wonder if that's what might be going on with this trip -- after BIG, I wouldn't be surprised if Dan had no idea what was next but was got some feelers from people in other creative fields that he might be following up on. I do wonder if this trip is separate from the project he hinted at in the fall. Regardless, I hope it wasn't too stressful a trip. Putting yourself out there creatively is a vulnerable thing.

No yes I know that, I just mean that I'm surprised he's reaching to an american owned company because that can be stressful, it could get complicated logistically and a million other things, when he's obviously in touch with BBC and has been at least until the release of II. I guess I find it easier compared to something US related but what do i know honestly. Just confused me.

Comedy Central is based in NYC, so it's hard for me to imagine going to LA for that? But maybe they do meetings in LA too for the people who go for the whole LA scene at once.
Dan did that BBC Talentworks podcast and writer's retreat thing last year, so it does seem like the BBC interest in him is current, but they still could have passed on a project, or there could be something that specifically relates to CBS or to a Hollywood target for some reason.

CBS owns a bunch of networks...one of which is the CW. who knows what dan is up to but—*whispers* please don’t get mad at me for mentioning his name in a professional context—CBS did produce the pilot episode for the CW shows Miss Benny was cast for. as far as I know “Glamorous” hasn’t been picked up...so this could be a major jump, idk, to think dan could have contacts that way. just something that made me go hm
would make me cackle if he ended up making something on the same network as riverdale.

Wait Riverdale is on the same network? That's it, he's trying to get a part on the show so that he can get Phil to pay attention to him while watching Riverdale, I've cracked the code

Naaaah. It's extremely unlikely we'd ever split the threads because it's inevitable that Dan conversation becomes Phil conversation and vice versa and both convos become Dan and Phil convo. They're both very permanently weaved in with each other personally, if not career-wise.
Plus, we're not here to be the Official Dan and Phil Forum that supports their career decisions. We're just here to provide a platform for people to discuss
whateeever they wanna discuss.

Dan’s friends that were cast on Glamorous (which fell through) are both 20 and 22 so it’s not too far fetched for them to play teenagers on a CW show but if Dan were to get cast for the next CW teen drama do you think he’d be the teacher or the father?

Thinking about Dan pitching something and this came to mind... Do you guys remember Dan talking about an idea he had for making something revolving around the 7 Deadly Sins? He would bring it up every now and then in live shows. If I recall the last time he brought it up, which I think was when they were still in the old London apartment, someone asked him if he was going to do a series on his channel about it and he said something very vague like "on my channel, or maybe somewhere with a higher production value." I've been trying to find it, but can't remember exactly which show it was from. I've always wondered if he still planned on doing something with that, because it seemed like he had put a lot of thought into it.

The hoodie: I always assumed we *might* know more at or around Phil's birthday bc of the barcode?
RE: Dan. I am confused AF. I can't tell if I like or hate it. I think I'll go write some birthday smut for someone instead of stressing LOL.

I mean someone thought Phil was Dan's father and referred to him as a boy, and far older than him have been cast as teenagers before e.g. the glee cast. Imagine if they did cast him as a mentoring-type role though... and he just put on the glasses he used to wear when being different characters in his youtube sketches

Wait, I'm confused. Do we know Dan was at CBS or are we just assuming he was because Fleur was? Because that could be a coincidence and I don't want to speculate without knowing for sure.

Omg, please not Dan cast as a father, he can’t be old enough for that yet

he is cute, but yeah, too big for a kid, also please, though some they cast eg in Riverdale are huge too. I loved that in Anne with an E, the kids were 14-16 at the start and looked it, and grew up with the show. I guess he could play a teacher, but oh, the possibilities if he was acting instead of presenting. Casting is such a fun game. I already stand by Alonzo (patchy black and white one, quiet, in his own world vainly fixing his hair) or Munkustrap the grey tabby narrator in Cats since this is fantasy land. Ooh, what roles would he be suitable for. Someone emotional and expressive

I can’t think specifically right now. He’d look good in older fashioned clothes, though. Those record-print wellies they had at the festival years ago reminded me of riding boots, they’d look good. Okay, now I’m just dressing him up, idk. A dashing love interest, he’d be lovely at that.
