I always get the 'my security blanket' feeling when I see them like this (that is how I call it in for myself ) It seems like they are almost not able to "function" (can't think of better word at 3am) without the other one being around (=hovering extremely near) especially in social situations. I'm not saying they can't but they are definitely more relaxed the closer the other one is.

I don't know why, but I just love that they have an age gap of five years. Just something about it makes me extremely happy. I guess it's because I just imagine little twelve-year-old Dan being all emo and stuff and Phil partying it up, not knowing what's to come. It's amazing.

Hi guys! Thanks for messaging me Oqua, I was feeling so much withdrawl and I missed all of you terribly.
I liked the new gaming video (I used to play that game when I was like 12 lol) and I'm excited for the live show tomorrow!
I was also recently watching a playlist of some unlisted videos on Phil's second channel, and in one of them he has the same music from the vday video playing in the background. In TABINOF he apparently said that he unlisted that video for other reasons, but it certainly brought back SO many feelings when I heard that music. In another one, he was wearing the same shirt, but he removed that one because it was for a contest thing or something.

I have nothing to say really, I've only just caught up on the thread after finding it only today - just in time to save my sanity, I never realised how much my daily fix of D&P chat kept me sane(ish). Wanted to say THANKS to everyone involved in getting this up and running, I for one will be hanging around even though GG is back up

At the moment I'm making my way through their old radio shows (r.i.p.) and loving it - they got good quickly, it's so cute. Plus I forgot how interesting the early 2013 era is. Very much a tipping point in their careers and in how they communicate with their audience, I'd say, and the radio show must have done a lot for them in that regard.

I remember from watching Dan's liveshows that the start of 2013 was still very tense and confrontative at moments, and especially when the topic moved to sexuality. But then around May he just suddenly stopped that and got a lot more chill for some reason. He stopped mentionig sexuality completely - still doesn't to this day, three years later - and started talking/joking randomly about finding guys attractive, all at the same time in the month of May.

Now, I just got to May 2013 in my radio show watching and I was jokingly thinking to myself "time for the first male attraction mention on radio, perhaps!?" And, umm...

No but really, I wonder what suddenly made him comfortable saying things like that, when it was practically unthinkable just a month or two before without him adding #nohomo disclaimers everywhere.

(early 2013 examples) I think probably the #nohomo is just very out of character for him, because he didn't do it before 2012/2013 and he hasn't done it since either. It was an anomaly. Perhaps it's something as undramatic as him finally coming to terms with his suddenly so much bigger audience a bit, and starting to feel more free to express himself again in front of his fans? (And with the Voldy drama at a safer distance.) Perhaps the radio show lent him the confidence to not give as many fucks anymore. Or perhaps he really did finish dealing with something in his private life (a coming out? general self acceptance? graduating a beginner's class in zen meditation?) and it meant he could be more relaxed.

No matter why it happened it's nice to see, almost a relief, because early 2013 is... well... confused.

He does end his DML video from late April(!) 2013 basically saying he used to hate his life but is now finally feeling like it's starting to go his way... So yeah, interesting period, first half of 2013.

Phil actually let his 10 year anniversary just quietly slip by, eh? Lame. Perhaps he's saving it April Fools - "Oh dear! I've been on Youtube 10 years! About time I quit and deleted my channel!"

I tried watching that video and I thought something was wrong with the sound on my computer lol I refreshed the page twice and messed around with all the sound stuff on my computer....and then I watched it for 30 seconds and realized that they just hadn't turned the mic on. Great.
