Also was watching the BBC Culture doc from 2013 and in it Dan says he does YouTube as his full-time job. But later there is a clip of deppy doing the radio show. I'd say money wise, which is what they were referring to, the radio was the better part of his income at that point. They only moved to London and got the apartment they did betting on getting the radio 1 gig. Idk if having a 2 hr show once a week is a full-time job or salary tho. Idk, maybe it was just edited out and dan did mention getting radio 1 income.

The galaxy shirt is different material - the Japan shirts are just long sleeve cotton t-shirts. The galaxy one is more of a sweatshirt, with an inside fleecy lining that is very soft. It's not too thick, but still fairly warm because of the material, warmer than a t-shirt for sure. It doesn't have their logo (except on the inside tag).
I have the VidCon sweatshirt, and judging by your description (sweatshirt with soft fleece inside) it sounds like it's the same material so this probably applies to the galaxy shirt as well. I've found it to be extremely comfortable and well-made. Agree with sparkle that their merch is high-quality. (To be honest it's probably good that I'm too afraid to admit to my friends I watch Dan and Phil because otherwise I'd just wear it constantly.)
I'm not particularly afraid of admitting I watch them, but wearing recognizable merch? Nope.
Thanks for the info everyone! I'm probably going to order that sweater tonight. (I just talked about it to my mom because I'm 100% always worried about money. Her literal words: "please buy it. You never buy clothes. Just do it." She's right, I guess. I only have like 4 sweaters, that I've accumulated over several years )

3 videos from deppy in the span of 4 days (that's what it's been, right?) definitely seems too optimistic. my bet is they'll post it tomorrow in lieu of dan's ls.
I really hope that we get a regular Dan ls today instead of anything else! Please, Dan, please? Oops I accidentally typed dad instead of dan! Maybe I subconsciously would rather have a dream daddy vid!
I don't want to jinx it but I feel like it's probable that Dan will do a liveshow tonight as he cancelled last week's, and I don't think it's likely that he'd cancel two weeks in a row.
Now I'm fully prepared for him to cancel just to spite me haha

I really hope there will be live show today, I honestly can live without new dream daddy video. I really want to like that game, but visual novels are just not my kind of games at all. :/ I love the fact that they are doing a playthrough, just wish it was a game that's more fun to watch.

Here's hoping we get a liveshow!
Funny that the first thing I think when waking up before work now on Tuesdays is "I hope that rat doesn't cancel on us again."
Why do I always feel so starved for content?! Give me moreeee.

thanks for the tumblr promo haha
I remember (or maybe I just made this up, I'm not totally sure) that sometime this past year either dip or dot mentioned that they might start doing something for BBC again? Selfishly I want them to do the radio show again ofc

[Offtopic]I've just checked Dan's socialblade and saw that he deleted/unlisted a video today. I'm not particularly familiar with all of his content, so maybe someone could tell which video it was? [/Offtopic]

Was that the one where he filmed two girls and tried to make them kiss? Yes less of that pls. If you're lurking Dan, now PLEASE delete Stalker Prank Call, I beg you.

I can still find it via google search, is that supposed to happen?
But oh lord, the cringe. He must have changed the thumbnail sometime because it's no longer the "hot lesbian action" he claimed it was, which makes this slightly better but doesn't really make up for the contents of the video.
To be honest, I'm surprised it wasn't unlisted sooner, but better late than never.

'rape'
in those older videos he wasn't the only one though. I'm glad that trend died

I'm glad he unlisted that, it's one of the video of him that I watched once and always left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. I know he was younger and the humour trend was what it was but..thank you Dan for owning up to it I guess!
I've lost all concept of time so I didn't even realize it was Tuesday until someone told me. I would really love a liveshow, Dan can't really cancel another one with the internet excuse and I'm curious to see if he livestreams from his usual spot. Come on Dan, it's your turn to kill the moving theory soon!
I'd like a Dream Daddy video, mostly because I really wanna see who they choose and I still am curious about the game itself since I can't buy it

Wow, that video made me pretty uncomfortable at points. His jokes with the girls... ehhh. No thank you. Also throwing around the R word. Eek. That makes me feel gross. I'm glad Dan now recognizes that sort of humor can be pretty damaging/offensive to people.
Watching him unlist videos because he realizes how rude and just downright unfunny jokes like that are... good character progression. Growth is good. Why were jokes of that nature so prevalent at the time? Bleh.
I guess I can't fully fault him for being immature (or perhaps not fully understanding or knowing better.) Mistakes are meant to be learnt from and it seems he clearly has. Makes me wonder though. Has he ever addressed this stuff? Like proper? (Aside from updating description to poke fun at himself for being problematic)
Inapropros jokes aside, fetus Dan is still precious to me. The way Dan says "hullllllo" to anything cute makes me smile. Hull-oooo. Aw.

Oh my god, I remember that. Just thinking about it makes me cringe so bad, worst video on Dan's channel hands down. I don't think I ever finished watching that one, the second hand embarrassment was way too much.
But yeah, I also like that he's unlisting his older problematic stuff. I don't really need him to address it though. Him unlisting that stuff makes it pretty clear that he doesn't think it's funny anymore and doesn't want people to associate him with it. Talking about it now would only draw unwanted attention to these videos so just unlisting them and letting people forget they ever existed is the right thing to do I think since it's from so long ago. (If it had happened last year I'd want him to address it but I think it's okay if he just lets the cringey 2010 stuff die silently.)

A few days ago I was thinking "why doesn't he unlist that or something"? Thank God. Like someone else said, I hope he takes down Stalker Prank Call too. I never thought it was possible to cringe that hard at a video.

As someone who spent wayyyyyy too much time on the internet (especially in gaming communities) back in the days when Dan was starting his YT channel, I don't blame him for his behavior. Or I mean, we can't justify it by saying 'everyone else did it', but sadly that was the 'humor' back then. I myself have never liked it or used it, but a lot of my friends did and it was accepted all around.
I'm glad Dan owns up to it now and unlists the videos that are problematic, but I don't think any less of him for making those jokes back then. I suppose most of his friends did, and he was still a teen. He grew and he learned to know better.

yeah, for whatever reason people used to throw the R word around out of context all the time, as if it was some cute thing to say , plus I also noticed that people in DnP's online friend group/youtube community were sexualizing each other left and right at that time as well, it used to be so common :/ even Phil used to do that, although not in his videos, but mostly on twitter/db. what I find interesting though is that Dan follows people like h3h3 and filthy frank on twitter, so I take it he doesn't have that much of a problem with problematic jokes, he just doesn't want that stuff on his channel.

What was wrong with Dan's "Stalker Prank Call" vid? I remember watching it a while ago and it was kinda creepy, though I didn't get why it creeped me out. They made some problematic joke or something?

Honestly it wasn't even about humour, back then that word was thrown around as a synonym for a hug tbh, because kids are dumb (or maybe back then they were, I think people even younger than that have more sense now because of tumblr etc) and it was a slightly edgier word to use to feel cool (or not even that, it was just without even really thinking about what you were saying, it was just a word everybody used freely). Like yeah that doesn't excuse anything, it was always in poor taste obviously but nobody realized or cared until getting some perspective later on. Also known as: growing up.

I fully agree with this. It's good he's doing it and that we've all moved on from that kind of casual grossness, but I don't think it needs to be addressed beyond the unlisting. Because even if it's not justification, it is still true that basically everybody else did it at the time. The past is cringe and so are all of our younger selves to varying degrees. If we all had to apologize for every awful joke or misuse of a word (etc etc) we made/said while our brains were still developing, we'd never get anything else done. It's just about growing and being better now; better than 5 years ago and better than yesterday. And even if Dan hasn't outright said 'hey remember when I made specifically these offensive jokes? Well this one was wrong for this reason, and this one was wrong for this reason', he's made it clear he's grown up from them and I think the audience is smart enough to understand why the videos are being unlisted. As he said: 'wyt'. I don't think we need the obvious spelled out for us.
Anyway, a good tweet:
(obvs this doesn't apply to like murderers or something but in this tiny specific context it fits)

Just to expand on my first comment: I don't think by any means he is obligated to explain himself further, I was simply curious if he has talked about his reasoning behind it outside of his video descriptions. Has there been anything he's mentioned about that cringeworthy behavior?
Obviously I don't expect him to go full retrospective and analyze/apologize for anything - he was young and naive. Just thought I would clarify my curiousity before anyone gets the wrong idea that I demand reparations or anything.
