I would just say "I got it online", and if they ask about the specific store just say the store name. If you say amazingphilshop.com and they don't know who that is, it will probably just sound like a quirky online store or brand. If they do know, they know to much about youtubers to be trash talking them anyway. When people has asked me about my II denim jacket I've just said that I got it at a show by a couple of online comedians and they've been satisfied by that. You don't have to be specific if you don't want to. I find that most people who ask that don't really care were it's from, they just want to be nice and give you a complimentLtrllySusan wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 8:31 am Does anyone else have this weird problem with merch that you would technically like to wear it and support the creators, but you're worried that others ask you where you got the clothes?
I've had bad experiences at my old job with people trash talking YouTubers and streamers. I don't always feel confident enough to be like "Actually...!".

Stock update: In addition to both pairs of socks being sold out, the fox sweatshirt is sold out for all sizes but extra small and small.
Coincidence that he looked breathtakingly beautiful in the photo modelling it? I think not.

I flew out of the Vancouver airport earlier this summer, and did the same thing of going to a baseball game to kill time before my flight left. The stadium is only like ten minutes from the airport. Although they did make it to at least the seventh inning, which is better than I did. But that would make sense if left late at night, because Phil said they were going to be missing a full day in their life show and time change plus date line means no Thursday for them!

Sorry to bring back the liveshow talk, and especially if it's been mentioned and I didn't see it. I'm trying to understand what Dan meant by saying/talk singing (around 11 mins in, when they're talking about Phil dm'ing their LA friends) "Phil scaring everybody".
Is this confirmation of Phil's infamous dm's being a real thing? is Dan playing into the Phil's dm's-inside joke once again being -too- aware of the phandom's internal convos? am I reading too much into it?

I could definitely see Phil wanting to be on a game show again just because I think that's something he's super interested in and given how we know his whole history of trying to be on game shows, it would feel like a pretty legitimate thing he wanted and not just a weird kind of pr thing to boost his reach. (And now my futile wish of the day: Phil on Countdown. Or... Dan and Phil on Eight Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown.)Ablissa wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 7:36 am This is off topic, but I just saw that Joe Sugg is going to be on Strictly Come Dancing and it made me think... I hope with all my heart that they NEVER do it, but it would be hilarious.

Dropping this here because I am so astounded and proud, omg
I was wondering that too! I think he’s referring to Phil using the phrase “sliding into your DMs” as that apparently implies something sexual.phanfckingtastic wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 11:08 am Sorry to bring back the liveshow talk, and especially if it's been mentioned and I didn't see it. The overwhelming reaction to Phil’s tweet was ‘COLLAB PLS’ but a few people responded to the phrasing.

Yes, sliding into someone's dms historically has a sexual meaning. Given that it's not even remotely a possibility with d&p, I took it literally, like he was scaring people bc his dms are notoriously to "scold" ytbers, at least as a phandom legend.watsonian wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 2:17 pmI was wondering that too! It would kind of make sense that Dan's joke was that people thinking they were receiving a sexual advance by Phil would be scared -in an sarcastic way-, although once they open the dm they know it's not about that... not that funny
Too complicated, lmao I guess we'll never know. Dan says all kinds of shit all the time, hard to keep track or contextualise.

I’d love to see Dan do Strictly, though he’d probably refuse, and Phil would be adorable, but he had trouble keeping his arms coordinated in Tatinof so perhaps not. I haven’t thought about any others, but Countdown or 8 out of 10 Cats are more low-key so they seem more possible.

This all reminds me of something I may or may not be making up. Didn’t Dan once say something in a LS about turning down a game and/or reality show?
I also personally sometimes get the feeling Phil’s ~gotten where he wanted to go~ without having gone the game show route. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for him doing one, but I do wonder if he’s gotten offers at this point that he’s rejected.

I might agree but the fact that Phil was signing Dan up for game shows that Phil wasn't even available for himself makes me think that Phil really just finds game shows themselves appealing. I do think that his dream now might fall more along the line of 'host' than 'contestant' but I still think that if the right opportunity came along he'd go for it.rizzo wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 3:10 pmI physically ache with how much I want this, now. From the November 8 2016 liveshow:
33:51: I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here last year asked him to be on it “super trashy” “2-3 more relevant years” basically said he’s not desperate enough to go on reality tv, haha

If we're discussing gameshows/reality tv we'd like to see deppy on, I'd love if phil was on big brother uk(i would prfer us because audience voting is annoying but that's obvs less likely) phil is the type of nice that could get far, especially because he doesn't really come off as a physical threat and he'd be good at the puzzle comps and he could win, I don't know whether he'd survive for 3 months in a house without dan but hey if they both got in? and pretended they didn't know each other? sorry this is delving into bullet fic territory now, but yeah, i could totally see phil host a game show. Maybe something like what crabsticz did for Youtube Comedy Week a few years ago?
YES! I'd love to see Dan and Phil go on a gameshow. (I can't picture either of them doing a reality show these days).
Perhaps the real "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" would be fitting - for charity of course
Young Minds?
"The Million Pound Drop" would also be fun (does that still exist?! I don't watch TV), watching Phil hold piles of money and panic as money falls through trap doors...just imagine the gifs.
Though longer term I'd really love to see Phil create a game show or something of his own like it - it fits him perfectly. With his interest in board games, game shows, daytime and trashy tv apparently lol, and having already created his own app and board game. There's definitely a gap for something new and fresh, and, as we know from their talk at the Edinburgh TV Festival, TV is very much looking for ways to engage a younger audience just now. Though I wonder if Phil would go the traditional TV route...something online or app based perhaps is more current (he was really into HQ Trivia for a while).
Someone snap him up.....! Or actually no, Phil do your own thing, build your empire with full control

I would love to see them on the Crystal Maze with Richard Ayoade but as they (allegedly) don’t have any other friends I don’t know who would form the other 4 members of the team?

Didn't Dan mention in a recent liveshow that Phil dreams of being a game show host? Or am I dreaming? It would really suit him and I can totally see him doing that in a few years when Youtube eventually dies.

Listen, I would read the hell out of that fic. Unfortunately, I don't think either of them would go for it (this vyou clip is pretty telling of that, even if it's old), but Phil did audition for Big Brother in January 2009 and didn't get it. But I do agree with everyone about seeing him host something. I'd be so down for that.fieldoflovers wrote: Thu Aug 16, 2018 6:07 pm If we're discussing gameshows/reality tv we'd like to see deppy on, I'd love if phil was on big brother uk(i would prfer us because audience voting is annoying but that's obvs less likely) phil is the type of nice that could get far, especially because he doesn't really come off as a physical threat and he'd be good at the puzzle comps and he could win, I don't know whether he'd survive for 3 months in a house without dan but hey if they both got in? and pretended they didn't know each other? sorry this is delving into bullet fic territory now, but yeah, i could totally see phil host a game show. I'm about to go out for the night but I hope I come home to a new gaming video where Dan is wearing the try new things shirt. If he isn't, I'm sueing given the context of that quote and if you disagree you're wrong, thanks for coming to my Ted talk uwu
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.
Official Moving Hill Mayor
I don't know if that's a thing in England, but in Italy, there is a reality show called Pechino Express, where celebrities play in couples and travel around a foreign country just by hitchhiking. They also need to ask the locals for hospitality in order to sleep and go through some challenges.
I'm sorry if it's not very clear I'm the worst at explaining stuff, but anyway I would love to see them on something similar because it would show a lot of their vulnerability, a more real side of them I think.
It's also a game where the couples' bond needs to be strong and people tend to argue a lot
so I guess it would be very interesting to see the dynamics between Dan and Phil.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that at the end of the episode the winning couple gives money to a charity of their choice that operates in the country they are in so that's cool, too

^ It is a cute fic, but you’re right about the fan art, come on artists, Dan even gave a perfect visual reference!
I just came here to say that in Lauren’s most recent Instagram story she’s got a Lion plushie that’s been guarding her home while she was away
Oh and Sarah has some how made all her tour stories memories so you can watch them all in a row and see all the merch team adventures, pretty cool!
I’m eager for that Sims viddy!
