Halloween talk is interesting. Netherlands doesn't really celebrate, maybe in the bigger cities (I live rural)? I have noticed a push from commerce around the holiday though, so maybe in a few years it'll be bigger.

I enjoyed the LS. I was never into the franchise, but it actually seems pretty damn fun to play.
Wonder what they'll play tonight. I'm kinda hoping for one of the older Silent or Resident Evil games.

Dan mentioned he found a really good recipe he wanted to try, so I wonder what he picked. And it it will require actual baking

Sweet jesus the double peace sign and the lion claw Dan and Phil must absolutely love the creative freedom Hot Topic applied here. It is remarkable that they licensed out a shirt design to a third party, and that Hot Topic would "lowkey" add it to the catalogue without much promo. Hm, a brave soul with a shopping budget will no doubt go on a fact verifying mission and hopefully tweet a pic wearing that shirt.

@thewaytobehappy. yea I feel it's the same in Belgium here. And for the baking vid, Dan said they were bringing an element of competition to the video. Going by his statements about how their previous baking results were wildly successful, I'm expecting something pretty basic. Can you imagine Phil wielding fire to make a perfect crème brûlée ?

Halloween just started being celebrated here in Italy - which is hilarious because bigots will say it's the Devil's holiday and it's trying to steal the Christian souls' focus from All Saints lol though there are lots of decorations in shops and the past couple of years I've seen kids go trick or treating.

I still wish they finish spooky week on actual Halloween, the idea makes me feel slightly upset for some reason very excited to see today's game, I've been quite happy with their choices so far!

I was watching vlogs to see what a mess Hello World was and came across this person that recorded Louise and Marcus Butler's song - Dan and Phil mention at around 14 minutes in.

i'd never try to imply that halloween is an american holiday, but even my irish friends tell me that it's not celebrated there to quite the extent that it is here. halloween isn't just celebrated on halloween. there's halloweekend which is the last thursday/friday/saturday/maybe even sunday in october. and like this year it'll be celebrated on tuesday as well. but there's parties the two weekends before as well/ someone with an active enough social life could end up going to 10 or 11 halloween parties in one year because we're so obsessed with it here.

also, i knew about that hot topic shirt. saw an ask on tumblr from someone saying they had a friend who works at hot topic and saw dnp merch in the back but i forgot where i saw it. it's ugly and i'll never buy anything with them/their names on it. the silhouettes is the only thing i'd ever go for.

stakhanov: that shirt is almost certainly deppy's design.hot topic only sells merch, they don't design it. as someone who has shopped at hot topic for 10+ years, i know that pretty much any shirt i find from a band i like at hot topic i can also find on their website. this is a hot topic exclusive but all that means is that's the only place they'll sell it. the design is basically the same as the shirts they sold at some conventions this year and the back to school merch they did so the double peace sign and lion claw...that's all them.

This is interesting? Because I remember seeing a tumblr anon last week mention it and no one believed them. But I looked it up this morning and saw it there. It's no where on the main page ether. You have to look it up specifically. When I mentioned it to my friend, she told me that she went to hot topic yesterday and that all the employees were talking about it. I'm wondering if more than just a shirt are coming later this week? And the stores got the shipments in this past week? Maybe the official announcement is this week? But the fact that it's apparently been on the site for literally two months and no one really noticed till today is so strange?
But it doesn't surprise me that there's dan and Phil merch (even if it's not cute) being sold at Hot Topic. A lot of people have been demanding it for years, even googling "dan and Phil hot topic" shows an actual petition to get their merch in the store.
I'm also confused about people the shirt is "overpriced" when the shirt is $24? Their shirts on their own USA shop are $24 as well.
Not that I'd buy this shirt, it's not my style but hey it's a thing now for the people who kept badgering hot topic for it.

Hot topic is known for being notorious at stealing shit, and knowing deppy they would have said something about it, especially since American viewers (especially the younger ones) would really be all over it.

Yeah, that's the same design as the vidcon sweater that I have and other convention merch that they had. Is the actual design Dan and Phil's though or did hot topic just take the outlines and turn it into this neon thing

awsugar That explains why their faces of HT t-shirt looked so familiar to me. I don't really keep tabs on their shop, but now I remember a Phil tweet about the "London-themed" shirts they had where they also used just the contours of their faces. I guess the rebrand is dead

It is a pretty strange situation that the shirt is available only when you search for it on the site and that their is no kind of official announcement, yet they must have paid Dan an Phil handomely, or so I would imagine since Martyn and them own and run their own merchandising company... hm. I guess that they must have thought this through well and that it just makes more sense business wise to sell rights to a huge retail chain like Hot Topic in addition to selling their own shirts... Interesting, I wonder what the business logic is here.

I've seen so little from HelloWorld that surprised me. What is more surprising is the bad 'reviews' even from the creators who where invited.

I just finished the livestream and it was amazing! I really enjoyed it, it was everything that I wanted The game itself wasn't that scary but there's something for me about being chased that makes me feel SO nervous, so I was tense the whole time. But it's halloween season so I'm not complaining

The whole halloween-talk here was interesting, here in Argentina we don't celebrate it so it's nice to hear what other people from around the world do! Hopefully one day I'll be able to celebrate halloween in some way since I found it really fun!

This was good! My feelings towards The Evil Within are mixed (the beginning of the 2nd game is also it's scariest imo) but they did well. It's moments like I think it's a shame they don't do series much, as this is a pretty short game.

Good ending to spooky week gaming wise.

I don’t always handle horror well, but this game was doable (so far at least). Only got really scared once.
