eh phils always been the one pushing the 'separate people platonic just friends' stuff. he just never had blunt outbursts like dan had, and people accept what he says as true more often, so its ignored. he's quietly been doing the same thing for 5 years while dan had a shorter, harsher reaction.

he started the mutual friend lie remember, and pushed the single thing a lot. he'd make statements and ignore the many, many questions, while dan would decide the questions had to be answered.

About Phil...it may (and probably will) sound a tad irrational, but am I the only one who feels a "no homo" phase from Phil recently? not only his surprisingly fast answer to the hotel room rumor, but he tends to use "I" and "me" whereas Dan uses "we" and "us". Does it make sense? Probably not.

i never(especially recently) get the "no homo" from phil really. i mean isn't it perfectly normal to use "i" and "me"? when he says "my room" or "i went to the cinema" he is technically right. i speak like that even if i had company with me. phil is not dan. if dans heart eyes are not phan proof then phils "me"and "i" are not antiphan proof or no homo either
can you imagine phil acting like dan? we would have lost it. we need someone to keep us grounded

But those little blips don't even fall into the 'no homo' realm for me, neither of them have been doing that for a satisfyingly long amount of time imo. There's a world between 'no homo' and 'the two of us are just friends and/or don't share beds' and I think it's an important distinction to acknowledge.

Hmm, I get that people (mostly?ish?) in this realm use the term kind of playfully. Also.. people (outside this phandom I guess) don't use that phrase to clarify relationships, it's specifically about correcting perceived 'gayness'. I think those homophobic undertones are straight up homophobic overtones. "I love eating bananas. No homo." lol cuz dicks, get it? I mean I don't know if there are many people out there who use it sincerely (I'm hoping it's almost entirely just an internet joke at this point), but it's pretty straightforwardly homophobic taken at face value. Am I overthinking things unnecessarily while also sucking the fun out of life? Prooooobs..

But I just don't think they're the same thing at all.

This looks like a proper security now, I'm happy about it. I still can't believe they haven't brought the metal detectors before, literally everything in my country had a metal detector, and it's weird for me to hear they made an event before without these.

I always have faith in Vidcon having their shit together, but as always I'm concerned about Summer In The City. Every year without fail, that convention always manages to be more or less of an unorganized mess. I read complaints about safety every year it seems. That said, if they're in Australia in August won't be attending SITC anyway. Can't imagine SITC being happy about that, plenty of people buy tickets only to have a shot at meeting Deppy.

Cute! I thought he'd send her some merch gift card or something but this way nicer. Imagine being in possession of such a rare Dan photograph, taken especially for you. We can only dream. That frame is tacky and ugly as sin, but it kinda adds to the charm of the whole thing.

Looks like double doors, so probably a suite of some kind, but a hotel that size has hundreds of suites of various configurations... Beyond my sleuthing skills!
