Also him keeping things individual ('me, I') vs. Dan's liberal use of 'we' is nothing recent at all. I'd actually say he's loosened up recently in that regard more than anything. Although I do think it's funny he stepped right in once the locked out jokes started on twitter. Same kind of vibes with the stupid bus tweets and having two beds shown clearly (sooo clearly, yes those are Dan's things clearly on Dan's bed, we get it) in his $5 video, which is fair enough- loosening up only up to a point for now..

But those little blips don't even fall into the 'no homo' realm for me, neither of them have been doing that for a satisfyingly long amount of time imo. There's a world between 'no homo' and 'the two of us are just friends and/or don't share beds' and I think it's an important distinction to acknowledge.

I mostly see those as the same thing. I don't mean that implying straightness is the same as denying phan. What I mean is that the 'no homo' phrase is used in regard to a friend when a person feels the need to assert that they are not in a relationship. Like, I know that 'no homo' kind of has homophobic undertones, but whenever I use it in regard to current D+P i mean that they are putting a 'disclaimer: we are not in a relationship'. I guess its kind of complicated.

Hmm, I get that people (mostly?ish?) in this realm use the term kind of playfully. But 'no-homoing' to me just brings to mind 'fyi i like vagina/not into dicks colliding/general cringey boob talk from both of them'. So it always feels to me like that term tries to discredit their growth over the years, trying to hold them to a version of themselves they've moved on from. If that makes sense.

Also.. people (outside this phandom I guess) don't use that phrase to clarify relationships, it's specifically about correcting perceived 'gayness'. I think those homophobic undertones are straight up homophobic overtones. "I love eating bananas. No homo." lol cuz dicks, get it? I mean I don't know if there are many people out there who use it sincerely (I'm hoping it's almost entirely just an internet joke at this point), but it's pretty straightforwardly homophobic taken at face value. Every year without fail, that convention always manages to be more or less of an unorganized mess. I read complaints about safety every year it seems. That said, if they're in Australia in August won't be attending SITC anyway. Can't imagine SITC being happy about that, plenty of people buy tickets only to have a shot at meeting Deppy.

If they are coming to Australia in August I hope they announce it soon. Because I'll need to make up my mind on whether I want to go or not. Plus the later they leave it the less likely it is I'll be able to get accommodation and plane/train tickets.

Looks like double doors, so probably a suite of some kind, but a hotel that size has hundreds of suites of various configurations... Beyond my sleuthing skills!
