Do we have any comments on this topic from Phil btw?
The thing with Phil, is that he doesnt actively say stuff like dan does, they just pop up when he is chatting, and thats why we dont scrutinize them as much as dans, because they blend in with the conversation. (Example: him saying that he "doesnt know the gender pronoun alberta would want to be called" or him saying "i dont have to be a girl to wear makeup" to a person saying he would make a pretty girl, also the "clothes dont have gender thing" etc. All of these are just things that pop up and people dismiss because he dismisses them too.)

Dan doesnt do this, he actively puts his opinions out there because -even if he is indeed liberal and wants to teach his fans which i am truly grateful, we need nicer people in this world-, I think that sometimes part of him is still seeking validation (maybe even praise or attention), those type of things -childhood traumas- are really hard to get away from, meanwhile phil knows that no strong direct opinion means less drama even if that means he cant vocally say a lot of stuff, the people that matter know his opinions and thats whats important -this happens when a child is listened to in their household instead of being instantly dismissed, they dont need the world to know what they think-, and so thats why we dont get to see that side of him, it doesnt mean he doesnt have a deep side, (Example: when he was talking about the universe, existence designed by computers, death, in his last live show), because i doubt living with a person as "existentialist" as dan doesnt come with deep chats at 3 am eating cereal on the stairs, because we forget that as much as phil has changed dan, dan has also changed phil, so they most likely share several opinions on this aspect, the thing is how they both decide to deal and express it.

At the end of the day i just feel dan wants to be listened and included, meanwhile phil must likely feel like he already has.

This was beautifully worded and I think you may have just hit the nail on the deppy head(s). That is how I have always seen them as well, but could not articulate it like you have.

Re:the new video. Does anyone have a VR? Have they watched it with it? If so does it make it better? I have one, but not quite sure where it is atm. I don't want to go looking for it for hours if it doesn't change the viewing quality. #lazy&unorganized

exactly! like i know what he was trying to say, i guess dan just has this way of speaking (especially in his liveshows) where he's a bit more unceremonious, and he uses jokes to try to prove a point, but i feel like when discussing a touchy subject like that he should have worded it differently. like your username, btw!

The VR video was cute, funny to see them warming up while the sound guy wires them up dropping the packs down their shirts and into their pants (well, kind of). What eagle-eyes do people have seeing Phi purse his lips in disapproval, I went back to look and couldn't see him do that. Intrigued, though. It was so weird seeing them behind the microwave screen when it showed the clip of them from pinof1.

Talking of watching things like a hawk, was very focused on Twitter so dove into the Hackney Emprie site bloody fast and booked a ticket for Dapgoose (wow, Phil  ) I've been there once before to see Aladdin, they always do a good pantomime. The woman in charge, Susie McKenna, was in the Cats video years ago so it's on my radar. Funny how they say be prepared to queue, they're a theatre, when they have a normal audience of the same number of people they seat them all without keeping everyone standing there, they seem to do this when it's a young crowd for some reason.

Weird too how Dan keeps saying on Twitter that he's filming it. Does he expect us to believe he'll me there answering questions with a vlog camera? They must have a crew like usual

I am going to the LA event. I was going to buy the darn book anyway, might as well get a signed copy and see their happy faces. Glad its on a monday, maybe there will be less children (probably not)

More importantly - see the lovely lady I have circled in red? Guess who she is!

I have no idea - its not me :( I will never not be salty about this lol. I specifically choose the daytime show because they said they would film that one. *sigh*

I am *very rarely* bothered by postings and may just be the most problematic person on this forum, but can we -please- not armchair psychoanalyse / generalise / whatever people's personalities and childhood background to such an obscene degree, especially to match it up with existing preconception?

I think it was more the lack of finding it funny when it was in such an outrageous statement; i'm not sure i've ever seen Phil find Dan making any sort of sexual innuendo about himself amusing. he tends to either dismiss it or get terse (eg "Dan." when he 'presents').
but i also think he could've just been distracted by nerves.

i'm disappointed we couldn't see their faces watching the pinof part. but maybe it's for the best, we'd probs be underwhelmed by how they weren't reacting to it; i wonder if watching it every single show has desensitized them a bit to the footage.

further pondering: do they still have the unedited footage somewhere? maybe that is 'their' pinof that they remember.

gnostic that post could be offensive if you take it as someone speaking authoritatively about something private, which i doubt any post from a fan can. it's all just speculation and theory. they put it out there, we're gonna analyse it. that's the fan/creator dynamic. (within the regular limits of saying offensive things about other human beings, obviously)

I wasnt trying to, i was just stating my thoughts, this is why i wrote "I think" on the first part, because it is my own personal opinion, if it did sound like i was trying to Freud-them up then i apologize, it was never my intention.

Well, the bus tour was the most logical thing to post from the documentary, so I expected it Making sure everyone sees it  At this point, they're just trolling us. Hey, Deppy, most of us are over it, okay? Can we bury it now?

The nerve of those two to upload that video to AP and call it their favorite part from the documentary on the day of #Phanniversary though...

Didn't need that kinda negativity in my life today. :sideeye:

Just digging up this post bc I forgot to reply to it!

You're welcome Tonberries are a frequent monster in the Final Fantasy franchise. They are notorious for being extremely hard to kill. They start off quite far away from you and get closer and closer, if you don't kill it by that time they approach you and unleash hell to your players. They are among some "iconic" creatures that appear in more than one game. But if you do kill them they leave some sweet rewards.

I'm actually surprised his tonberry is up on a wadrobe gathering dust. I'm pretty sure he's still a huge FF fan but why doesn't his precious gift from Phil fit in the ~aesthetic~ of his bedroom? Is it something he tries to keep out of sight, out of mind? I mean the MUSE poster is on the wall in the living room and you see totoro chillin' in various places but why is the tonberry designated to shelf life? I get putting random crap in those places (lord knows I do it myself), but if totoro can hang out around the house then why not the tonberry?

I come home to a lot of people rolling their eyes about busgate and nobody even bothered to post the video

Is this literally the same thing as in the doc? means I don't have to watch it again?
By this point I feel like I've never been so whatever about any topic in my life.
