Ain't that the truth!! well, for me anyway #phanconfirmed is at the top of my bucket list (yes, I need to get a life)

What an awesome idea the sign at the show was! I believe with all my heart they immediately got the pinof reference, and were truly touched. And then their simple tweet made everyone else feel the feels too. So much

I really wish they were doing little tiny 2-4 minute "travel updates" as they go from state to state. C'mon guys, please throw us middle-aged nose perverts a bone.

I kind of expected them to be quiet the first week... Phil's video was a total surprise the other night, I bet they reckon everyone's PL vlogs will be going up and they'll be caught in more than they noticed being filmed (wrong so far!) and that we'll all be poring over those for snippets (dead right, but ffs boys!!)

Still squee-ing over Clearwater. And looking forward to Atlanta(?) later. :) did not expect to be this invested in a tour I'm not going to be able to take part in. FML.

Irrelevant post but i just wanted to second this. I feel so many things when thinking about their last tour date and how amazing that show will be. Performing at the dolby theatre which is incredible in itself, factoring in the (possible) general euphoria of it being the last show of the US tour and also the fact that it's completely sold out. (also factoring in (guessing) that all their american yt friends will be attending that show too). incredible. i am obv way too excited about that show

I want to know what they're doing in Atlanta. Them not saying where they are/what they're doing as they do it makes sense but I hope we get some delayed tweets or instagram photos once in a while. The problem with the tour so far to me is that they're not really giving us anything we didn't already know (basically, what city they're currently in) and it is such a weird disconnected feeling.

And it's normal to feel disconnected from an actual celebrity, but with youtube celebrities having the pretense that you're tapped into their lives is part of the whole game. I can see how tweeting about the actual shows themselves every night might isolate fans who can't go and are upset, but the whole USA road trip is part of the Dan and Phil Adventure right now. I wanna feel like I'm at least somewhat along for the ride.

Yeah I want to feel part of the adventure too. I'm bored at work guys, bring me with you on your roadtrip. Ffs.

Adrian Bliss just uploaded a trailer to the second season of his Youtube vlogger parody series - where he and his totes platonic (but not actually) roommate will be going on a roadtrip in the US. STOKED for it of course. I hope they use the opportunity to parody Dan and Phil a bit, because if there's anyone I trust to do that it's Bliss. Anyway what I was going to say before I veered off topic is that that one trailer already made me feel more part of Adrian's and Greg's roadtrip - that hasn't even happened yet - than I feel part of Deppy's roadtrip so far. I hope they step up their game a bit after the first couple of weeks are over and they've settled into a routine (oh, how I'd love non-routine content from them!)

(If you haven't watched Adrian Bliss you can use this content drought to marathon his Vlogvember parody series -here's the playlist.) (And here's a video where he mentions Dan and Phil.)

Phil uploaded a video not even 5 days ago, and we got a gaming channel video like a week ago, so I don’t think you can really call this a content drought to be honest.
I mean I miss the live shows as well, they certainly added something, and I would like one soon, but I don’t think this is too bad. Although more content is always welcome.

I know it but certanly don't hold such a grip on their fans thanks to a regular uploading schedule on yt but manly with their interactions on other forms of media and among them there are the ls

Also I speak for me but I was expecting more content with them during PL, we still only have few snaps and photos from cat (where are the vlogs  ), a vine and two super short appereances in vlogs.Nothing more, from what I know the only yt that tweeted about them was jenna.

I have a question but feel free to ignore it but I have some doubts regarding the apperance of other youtubers in their dolby performance, like yes it makes sense but at the same time.

I think what makes this feel like a drought is the fact that we know they are out doing things, and we're denied access to what feels like something that is probably fun and interesting. It's very easy for days to go by and no one to get antsy when we have a comfortable image of them just sitting in their flat playing video games. (Even if the reality of their lives is probably a lot more hectic than that, it's still a mental status quo for the majority, I think.)

If we had videos or steadier (less bot-like) tweets, we'd still feel entertained and occupied. As it is, we're all just sitting in anticipation of whatever will come next. That feels like a drought even if it hasn't technically been that long.

I know it hasn't actually been that long but without liveshows it immediately feels like so much less content I guess The lack of Playlist vlogs was a shame cause we usually see more of them then, and we have no idea how much they've prerecorded but I'm not expecting many dinof or ap videos during the tour as they're so busy
I'm just bored and missing my weekly liveshow fix don't mind me

I think the reason some people believe that is that in the UK it was the last show where they invited all the youtubers. It would be consistent
Tbh i can't imagine them not inviting other vloggers at all. None of their US youtube "friends" has seen it yet and i'd think at least Cat, maybe Tyler, Joey, Jenna or Thomas Sanders or other people i can't remember right now would want to watch?
And Vidcon is the event that is attended by the most youtubers, so if they want them all to come together (like in the UK) it makes sense.

And i agree with the common thirst for content. I think we are thirstier, because we KNOW that they are out and doing interesting things (unless they are hiding in a hotel room), but they are giving us nothing. They are on a f*cking tour, in a real actual tourbus! I'll never do something like that and i want them to share their experiences with me us.
Usually they are at home and we are used to them giving us very little information about their lifes in that situation.
And i really miss the liveshows :wahh:

EDIT: I just read alittledizzy's post and that's basically what i mean. Can it be that not all new posts show up before i post my own (i mean after you klick submit, all the new posts show up that were posted since you started tying, and then you have to klick submit again.), or am i just blind?
(Bluebox's post showed up, but not alittledizzy's, does that happen to other people as well?)

Yeah, here to complain with everybody else. On the face of it it shouldn't even be called a drought (a video what, 4 days ago?), but my god it does feel like a freaking Sahara. A liveshow would be nice, but I'm not even that demanding. I'd be content even with more instagram posts or with more interesting tweets, something to make me feel a little bit more involved. It's the adventure factor that felucca and alittledizzy mentioned; we know that there's A Huge Adventure happening over there and we're misssing out right now. So to me our grumpy reaction is actually quite well motivated.

Thanks for sharing the Adrian Bliss' video, felucca. Ridiculously excited for that, can't wait! And to me just the premise alone (going on the USA tour? c'mon!) looks like a slight dab at D&P with a promise of more to come and 'm living for that stuff because I just know that he'll nail it :D

Personally, I know I've got nothing to complain about, like I come from the land of bloody *book* fandoms, and later on TV show fandoms, and eternal thirst is like my birthright at this point.

But damnit, I got spoiled. I got used to liveshows and a few videos a week and feeling connected and tweets and random hellos and radio shows and at least feeling like I know where their heads are at. Are they happy? Warm? Sad? Excited? Like we pretty much know what they're doing these days, we even get to see them pretty regularly thanks to the m&g pics - but it's not the same. It's like raising someone on cake and then feeding them bread only so much so that they don't actively drop dead.

And yeah. I'm whiny and spoiled and entitled and I don't care, damnit, I'm just bored out of my mind and I stopped being able to entertain myself with scraps because I haven't had to for *months*. /says the person who got into the phandom like, this January. I don't know how you guys who've been at it for years do it/

wanting more than you're getting doesn't make it a drought. they're out doings - why should they film it? they don't usually do that, expecting constant updates it just what people want, not anything that should be expected. if they get somewhere 20 hours early, i don't want them to film a video, i want them to actually have time to themselves before a massive show. there's no reason to expect more when they've never been like that before, they've always spaced out content.

But Phamntof you indirectly said it yourself in your post: the nature of the youtube fandom is different than a book or a tv series one. With a book you just know that the main content, i.e. the book itself must take its time and in the meanwhile maybe you'll get some scraps of information from the author/publisher. I remember the good ol' days of waiting for a next Harry Potter book. The thirst was real, yeah, but I knew that the book isn't going to just magically write, edit and print itself in 5 days.
With D&P their primary content that they put out to the wolrd is a youtube video but a huge part of their appeal and, yes, content (hate this word right now) is also their relationship with their viewers that they maintain through their other social media. Dan mentions it himself in almost every boring radio interview: their job is to make people feel that they're these normal relatable guys who are rather fond of their viewers and are willing to give them quite a lot of information about their everyday feelings, mundane activities etc (within bounds of reason ofc, they're not reality tv stars). It's a different kind of story than a book or a tv series.

That being said I used the word "complaint" loosely. Actually I feel we're quite calm, civilized and rational right now. We're just stating the obvious fact that they're not fulfilling their internet brand/job descriptions particularly actively right now. And, at least from what I've seen, the majority of people here are careful to mention that this lack of activity, while particularly painful for us because of the highly interesting circumstances that they're in, is also rather udnerstanable seeing that they're crossing the whole of USA right now. So yeah, I don't feel that we crossed the line of being entitled little shits during this conversation yet. However I'm not so sure we won't if they don't post something interesting within the next... 3 days ;)

In it since march 2013 and tbh the horrible thing called "real life responsibilites" gets in the way of boredom ;) It helps to be busy when d&p don't deliver. And then when I've got more time on my hands I come back to them to see what they've been up to and get hooked again. It goes in about 4-month cycles.

100% this.
Part of the reason why Youtubers are such a huge thing is that musicians, actors, etc. "traditional" celebrities, are seen as untouchable God figures. YT'er's are "everyday people" that the normal public can relate to as a friend or just "a guy or girl like you or me". ESPECIALLY vloggers, DITLers, and storytime'rs.
To embark on such a notable huge thing in their life and career, something that is very strongly tied to their fanbase and something they've been promoting for months, and not share a single thing about it other than a random "i fell off stage" tweet, really comes across as alienating yourself from your fanbase.

I understand that they want to keep a lot of it underwraps for DVD purposes so they can sell it back to us, but to not do any LS, behind the scenes, even a "hey, we're in Florida getting ready for the tour, we're excited, how are you" video would be nice.
