I had the same reaction when backreading through the book/tour announcements. It was painful. I've had people who feel that way try to explain it but on a basic level I still just can't grasp it warranting that much anger. But I came along much close to book release time and didn't have any negative associations with it at all.

Same, I think I read them around June and I basically just shrugged and thought "I'm probably going to buy the book, they can have my $20 I don't care that much, and the people that do can just... not... buy... it...?" I didn't get it either.
But because of all that, I've never ever seen the announcement video fake fan. I watched their explanation one in the gaming room, but the actual video, I can't do it for some reason. That thread really just freaked me out.

(Although I do agree that them going silent for 24 hours afterward was probably a bad move that didn't help matters. But they were probably freaked the hell out by the reaction too. Everybody needed a nap I think).

edit: Can I just say that Canada has a dumb system with regard to dates? M-D-Y and D-M-Y are both used here with no rhyme or reason, so I was looking for Oct 8 and not Aug 10. Honestly what kind of a system is that??? We play fast and loose with our "best before" dates sometimes, it's madness.

i would say mid 2011? (edit: i quickly checked amazingphil and i think late 2011 sounds better) when both he and dan started becoming a lot more popular?
i think he gradually changed when his audience started becoming a lot more younger because youtube started becoming a lot more mainstream
but i'm not one of those very organized people like felucca that can pin point exact events, this is just from the top of my mind and what i can remember from 2011 and i was just a casual fan back then
any phil experts out there want to prove me wrong?

is it me or does especially dan's voice seem a little higher than his normal 2012 voice?? i could totally be imagining it, but at least to my knowledge he spoke at least a little lower than that. is it similar to other times we've known him to be drinking? if it's a quirk it'd be nice to further confirm/deny possible instances of it (ie: that one liveshow with the definitely-not-spiked ribena and the 'do you know what a fucking bowl looks like' quip) maybe it's the slight slurring but it definitely reminds me of that liveshow for some reason.

I don't think zalfie are real power couples, not like phan or pewdiepie/marzia (forgive me of i don't know what they called) way. Alfie doesn't seem to be helping Zoe in anyway. Unlike phan who can basically break everything with their phangirl army wherever they go or like marzipie (I'm just gonna call them that) who are individually accomplished in their own area of expertise.
