Dan is such a tall carrot with all the Japanese women up on stage. I have no idea what was going on beyond rock paper scissors.

Umm, I'm shook by the amount of content (NEARLY JOINT) we are getting from them.

Oh god he really is so tall in comparison, ha. I was wondering if he and Phil felt like giants (even more than usual perhaps) walking around Japan and I think this and the earlier tweet answer that question lol.

Phil's encouraging whoops and laughs I'm :rainbowtears:

The sound of Phil softly giggling in the background of Dan's posts is something I didn't realise how much I needed.

Cuties.

Japhan 2.0 is really killing me. The only thing that would top the first time around for me is a joint selfie.

Anyway Phil cheering for him and giggling is so sweet, and I love that he kept glancing to where Phil was. I also kind of love seeing how his body language here differs from how he is on stage for career stuff. He's more confident than you'd assume just by his audience participation video, which of course I think comes from the way he's participating (bets on him turning to Phil and saying he's sure he can smash this because of how good he is during their games of rock paper scissors?) and the obvious fact that he volunteered to do it.

But the thing is he's clearly nervous because it's not the audience he's used to, but he's still got that confidence that just warms my heart to see that growth from him.

Did this make sense? Probably not. I'm just mushy for them and I loved that.

That.. wasn't great, but I'll take it as a "filler" video in between the cute Japan content. I kinda think he was uninspired as wel since 2 minutes were spent on the AD (get that coin phil) and another 2 on the outro (which is a masterpiece)
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

I couldn't decide if I was judging the video too harshly because the social media content we're getting is great or not, but I agree. I do think he was a bit uninspired, I think most of the things phandom sent in are funnier to phandom than Phil? Like we took the gay theme and fucking ran with it, but Phil showing seventy three pics of him on various actors chests wouldn't really be that entertaining to watch. (And same with him inserted in random movie scenes, or Norman memes, etc.)

That video at the end WAS amazing though. Like, if he needed a way to stretch it over ten minutes, I'm definitely glad he chose to show the full version of that.

I didn't get half the video, and the rest was repetitive or spon... I also thought he'd at least mention the selection, like did Dan pick them for him or was he "reacting" to things he'd chosen himself? Maybe he needed the spon because it's using so much copyrighted content, but he could have at least said /something/ before jumping into 2 minutes of ads. Overall, it felt more like scrolling through Tumblr than a vid, like, memes are fun but I feel a lot more fed by the IG stories/twitter clip than this.

Don’t read this if you don’t want it to ruin your opinion/mood if you havnt seen the video. Was lack luster in my opinion. I first thought this was such a cool idea he really could of done so much better than a 6 minute video with 2 mins of spon and a stretch out outro. Maybe he’s just been on a roll with the past few that it really stood out. I saw so many that could of done in that I thought were great, not that the ones in the video weren’t I just mean it could be long that 6 mins. Tbh I don’t know his mood that day or what could effect it so who am I to judge. Don’t think it’s one I’ll be watching a again. I’m happy if anyone enjoyed the video though

I found this video a little less funny or interesting than I thought I would, but still pleased he released another video so quickly! And I assume the spon was because he's not getting ad rev off this? Anyway, one I won't come back to but still a fine use of 10 mins for me.

I thought it was... fine; like I always just enjoy watching him, but yeah I've certainly enjoyed the last few vids more. I do find the fact he included the last edit in full to bring the vid over 10 mins by *11 seconds* incredibly funny though. I'm also enjoying imagining people on the plane walking past and looking at some of those on his screen like "...what"

Also his fanart for the game was adorable; I like how much enthusiasm he puts into his spons. He doesn't have to, after all.

I wonder if it was time-sensitive because of the spon, and that's why he had to get it out now? Because if I was him I'd probably have left it until I got home. Not that I'm not grateful we didn't have to wait that long for another vid from him! :)

I thought the video was really entertaining. I wasn’t expecting anything groundbreaking but I just enjoy watching Phil and his personality and YouTube personality were really on point for this.

I did see the suspicious filming corner and have my eyes raised at that and am also really interested in the new filming green screen. Is it different than the liveshow green screen and is it how he’s filming from now on

I'd seen most of the stuff he chose to feature, but I always like seeing his reactions. And the sheer amount of gay jokes! I can live with this. The outtakes at the very end were cute too.

EDIT: Oh, the 69 posts rank  maybe I should go quiet for a while so this stays.

I liked it, especially seeing all the video edits I’d seen on twitter make it in and his appreciation of loz’s masterpiece. Bit sad mine didn’t, but they weren’t silly I guess. He could’ve spent a bit longer, the spon was a bit long, but  I didn’t feel it was lacklustre or filler, though. What I did wonder is when he re-dyed his hair brown cos it was darker again, but showing through a fair bit.

Loved Dan’s stage moment video. What a hilarious addition to Rock Paper Scissors and he even managed to bonk himself on the head by mistake. What a big, cute, cuddly lug he is.

I enjoyed the video! To me it didn't feel too different from other vids Phil's made this year.

Somehow Phil in front of a green screen feels so much less claustrophobic than sitting in front of a wall. Is it just that he's standing? Apparently I just really hate that wall and angle.

He did say he edited on the plane, so I didn't find it too surprising that the video just stretched out to 10 minutes, and I honestly love how he stretched it out. Outtakes/bts are sometimes my favorite part of videos, and the fanvid was both amazing and amazingly Phil (ignore the pun) both in style and monitization friendly music.

Speaking of, YouTube recently sent out an email about content directed towards kids. They're basically removing all features from it, including advertising algorithms, to be in compliance with the law. I don't think it will affect Phil, as their definition of 'kids' is under 13, and they seem to be using stuff like animation and music to decide if something is child directed, but it seems concerning for animators and others.

From the bts: I think I recognize the ropes/beads to the right of the green screen from Phil's space photoshoot with the glitter. Same space maybe?

It wasn't my favourite AP vid I'll be honest, but I never like reaction videos anyway.

Appreciated the Captain Holt reference though.

I thought it was perfectly average and had some good editing... I actually like when he gets the community involved and sorta reminded me of the old Tumblr tags vids, but those were much better just with the inclusion of bants with Dan.

At the end of the day this double spon vid probably paid for the Japhan trip and for that we can all be grateful! lol

I wasn’t excited for the vid (I don’t usually love reaction vids either) so I didn’t have expectations. I thought it was okay! Prob not one I’d rewatch but not bad. It’s nice to see him be comfortable with all the gay memes!

I had the video playing on in the background while I read stuff for uni, worked great as random noise fodder but I don't think it'd necessarily be entertaining enough on its own with 100% of my focus. Can't be mad though with all the Japhan content we're getting now :love1:

I appreciated the Captain Holt reference.

That's... that's about all I got out of the video.

Meanwhile, Dan's audience participation in Japan video? Q u a l i t y c o n t e n t. :rainbowsparkle:

I liked the video! It was pretty much what I expected and I got a few good laughs. And Dan's little video was so cute, he's the most adorable giant.

We're being so blessed with content right now :rainbowtears:

Exactly what I thought after I watched it. IMO the editing is a bit sloppier than usual and he could have scripted it better. Maybe assigning categories (memes, snuggles, asses, horrors, etc.) or something. I guess I was expecting something more like the year-end dan memes.

I was entertained alright and his enthusiasm was cute as always, but I couldn’t help thinking it’s a bit of a missed opportunity. Oh but I love his fan art for the spon game lol it’s so random and that’s why it’s lovely. :)
