I was not keen on the brown hair at first but this picture won me over I'm waiting to see if he let's the grey streak show through any time soon.

Dan is being super active reblogging weird stuff on tumblr, tweeting about the general election, both posted instagram pics, Phil posted a bunch of insta stories...

Do you think they're building to something? Distracting from something? Or just making random choices of days to deliver lots of tidbits of content that the phandom will go mad trying to figure out the meaning of?

Merch drop?Though for the sake of the fandom's sanity, I hope it would be just Phil merch. Otherwise, it could be a "classic" video for Halloween? I am keeping my expectations low.

They often post photos/stories after going on a group outing with the Lesters, but the reappearance of Dan's face and his reblogging stuff on tumblr does make me curious.

If it is building up to a merch drop I have no words.

I don't mind Phil doing another merch drop e.g. his coffee/hot chocolate maybe. Fair enough I'd say.
But yeah, Dan really needs to put some kind of video / performance etc. out there before another merch drop for him, I would say. I agree that I think Dan is building up to something though!

Cornelia just posted that she’s doing a photo shoot with Sarah so merch is definitely coming and seeing as how they’re using the professional photographer I’m going to say it’s dan’s

Idk, I think Dan considers merch design to be content. I just don’t love how we get all excited for their pretty photos and it turns out to be buttering us up for merch. I never used to doubt anything they said either until I read enough times of people thinking they were hiding something, it’s crap to lose that trust.

If it is another dan merch drop I honestly don’t know what I’d say. I know I’m literally the only one who doesn’t like the idea of dan putting out merch so frequently in the past few months. I know people have said before that there isn’t a amount of content that should come out before a merch drop but I don’t agree. I still think merch should be a extra but now that’s just his main content. I think maybe if he was more present on social media it would soften the blow. But liking things on twitter daily but not interacting with us feels crappy.

I know everyone can thrive off dan posting a photo and be happy but I have taken a back seat on “dan and phil”. I think it’s probably a really healthy thing to do after being invested in their every move and stops you from feeling left down. I’m not constantly reaching for my phone the second it goes off. I have turned off all their notifications because I know last year I would of dropped everything in a heartbeat to see a photo. Now it’s just a nice surprise seeing they did tweet or posted a photo. So if dan does have another merch drop I won’t be let down but I would roll my eyes. I welcome a phil merch drop I think there’s more he can do with his shop.

I hope this doesn’t come off as moany I’m actually really happy and in a good place. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is constantly checking their phone hoping for something. It’s so weird that I’d literally get like a ichy feeling when I didn’t have internet to check that I’d missed something. So from now on I’m just gonna take a back seat and welcome anything that comes. But for now I’m happy, I hope dan and phil are happy and I hope all of you are well.

I’m in full agreeable that it’s nagl for dan to keep releasing merch when he ignores the fan base the rest of the year.

Do they even share the same fanbase now? It seems very Phil biased as of lately.

I don't care because I'm not gonna buy anything anyway, from either of them, because I just can't ever, so I'll just turn a blind eye like always. I wanna stay blissfully ignorant in yesterday's high after their 2 selfies.

Listen, I'm always up for them having a right to release merch considering its their business and they also have employees but I'm gonna be rolling my eyes as well if it's Dan's mercy with nothing else going on. Even a live show Dan! I don't want a video but talk to us!

(I also say that because I'm expecting to not like any of his merch which keeps happening and I keep not understanding because we have the same aesthetic I'm like GIVE ME SOMETHING DAN)

I’m actually hoping it’s Dan merch. If it’s advocacy based he might even avoid a major backlash. (A bunch of shirts that say VOTE on them )

My problem would have been with Dan suddenly showing his face again before a Phil merch drop. Because if they’re going to separate their brands as fully as they have this year, it just feels sneaky for them to use Dan’s face to draw attention before a Phil merch drop.

Possibly I’m being too judgmental though. I do actually prefer Phil’s merch and it would make more sense for him to be dropping some than for Dan to be.

Making merch can be a creative outlet and no one is forced to buy it but only posting photos and tweets when he’s anticipating a merch release seems like he’s just using his fans for profit. I don’t think he is at all but it can come across that way. I don’t like any of his merch so far so I don’t really care and I can’t relate to the ppl that thank dan or Phil for merch

Usually I'm first on the defense committee around merch and business stuff, but I will 100% roll my eyes if Dan releases merch without releasing new content since the last 2 merch drops. BIG is epic, great, but one video a year should not equal 4 seasons of merch drops.

That being said, none of us are required to buy anything. I'm sure SOMETHING is happening in the background they can't talk about. But no merch without new content at this point, Danny.

If it is Dan's merch, I have to admit I'd be a bit taken aback; I thought the fact he happened to drop merch last time (September, was it?) after a period of silence and then coming back suddenly with insta posts and a tumblr queue was kind of funny ... but now it looks like it's a pattern, and I don't know how I feel about that. I've *always* wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and have always felt like they do care about their fans (even if they have an, uh, unusual way of showing it sometimes), but this does make me feel a little bit used, not gonna lie, which doesn't feel great. (This isn't about the merch drop itself without content, I'm kind of 'whatever' about that, more the fact that Dan only seems to post stuff now when he's about to try and sell us something.)

But I guess we'll have to wait and see, we don't know what it is yet. It might be a charity thing like his HTCTE stuff from last year. I mean, there's the *tiny* possibility he might drop a video in the next week and then the merch right after, but who am I kidding. *clown emoji*
