It's interesting how Dan's on-camera voice is pretty much still the same as in DAPG. I don't think it occurred to me that Phil has had two full years to get used to being a more relaxed version of himself in videos whereas Dan's been more.. in stasis with how he interacts with a camera? I think it stood out to me especially in instagram stories since Phil for the most part does not use the exuberant youtube-video voice when he does stories.

alittledizzy, I also have thought that Dan still very much has a persona on camera, much more than Phil, and that might be like you say because he's been off camera a lot and is still figuring his presence and level of comfort out or it might just be that he is guarded in different ways than Phil and that comes across too.

Edited to add: i should clarify that I don't think this is an authentic/inauthentic thing, more just that he seems more filtered and less relaxed to me as compared to Phil; and that also just might be a by-product of seeing Dan less too. it's also not any less entertaining, or anything, but there is an intangible difference of presentation to me there which is interesting.

100%. I had an overwhelming dose of nostalgia over those insta stories, very liveshow Dan vibes. I also noticed it a bit in the stereo chat. There were a couple of moments where it felt like he got a bit too performative and the contrast with Phil was really jarring.

to be fair I think by messages he's referring to some of the comments/replies, but let's be real he really just wanted to say 'cock' on camera I don't care if Dan's just posting more bc of the impending book promo, I'm absolutely living.

also, this is so off-topic, but I just want to say I really appreciate how compassionate Dan & Phil are with their audience, and how responsible they are with how they present themselves. I've been realizing more and more how empathetic they try to be compared to so many other influencers... I've never had to wonder if they're good people--even when they fuck up they actually seem to, like, listen and grow which is so rare on the internet these days.

I *loved* that all these years later both of them actually seem to believe the man was simply stating a fact

Can't laugh it off if you know for a fact that that's exactly how you recognize the delivery man.
