100% this.
Part of the reason why Youtubers are such a huge thing is that musicians, actors, etc. "traditional" celebrities, are seen as untouchable God figures. YT'er's are "everyday people" that the normal public can relate to as a friend or just "a guy or girl like you or me". ESPECIALLY vloggers, DITLers, and storytime'rs.
To embark on such a notable huge thing in their life and career, something that is very strongly tied to their fanbase and something they've been promoting for months, and not share a single thing about it other than a random "i fell off stage" tweet, really comes across as alienating yourself from your fanbase.
I for one am under no impression that I am friends with Dan and Phil. Yes they are closer to us than most ‘traditional’ celebrities, but when someone has millions of subscribers you have to be realistic. Besides all the people crying when they meet Dan and Phil should show us that they are moving more towards the traditional kind of celebrities. That really can't be helped with having so many fans. Long gone are those days, and since I came to the youtube scene late, I have never felt like any youtubers were like my friend.

Good for them for enjoying a nice milkshake, with the way those boys have been losing weight they can easily afford to.

I didn't say that we are actually friends with them, nor should they have to single out every one of their fans as "buddies". I said "the normal public can relate to as a friend", as in you identify with them because watching them feels like watching a friend, not a huge untouchable celebrity.
I'm not expecting personalized hour long meet and greets with every fan, just more insight into their daily life while in the midst of a huge thing in their lives. Videos, man. Give us videos. Set up your camera to do a Younow stream while you run a meet and greet. Do a bus tour. Take a picture of yourself in a truck stop. SOMETHING.

Was just coming on to post this. Flip is owned by Richard Blais from Top Chef. The menu looks so good! At least they're eating well.

I wasn't judging, honest! (Only a little, from a stagey point of view, cause milk/dairy is pretty much the "banned" list for clogging up your vocal chords...)

Also: lactose. Philllllllllll..... Private bathroom on the bus or not, don't upset your stomach!!

I disagree with the fact that they owe us anything. Their job is to post videos, and they have done that, quite recently as well. They still tweet every now and then and honestly you can’t expect anything more than that. It would be nice I agree, but I don't expect that of them.
Guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

I couldn't agree more. These two put their talent to use and create something that fans love to partake of; a video; a live show; radio show. Then the fan purchases that product in some way. We buy books, or show tickets, or merchandise. It’s a symbiotic business transaction. But I don’t think that D & P “owe” us details from their journey because of that. They really aren’t afforded any days off because some phan’s camera is always on the lookout for them. So I can’t fault them for wanting to stay off the grid in whatever small increments of time that are afforded them on the tour. I’m really hoping the get some quality time together on the road, because I’m a little worried that this tour is a little overly- ambitious for two people who aren’t used to adhering to strict schedules, let alone living on the road in a strange country ( and countries don’t get much strange than ours, here in the States). I just hope they get enough pleasurable moments to off-set the painful aspects of the tour. So while I would love to see some roadtrip content, for their sake & sanity, I think they’re better off keeping some things on the DL.

Lol! So every time someone needs to take a dump they always have to get off the bus to do it in public places instead? Or do they just tell people to refrain from pooping on the bus but it's not banned?

Idk why I'm curious about this.

all I'll be able to think about now is Dan or Phil having to ask for gas station stops for #2 reasons

Gross answer:
It's a hard ban on #2's on the bus toilet because the septic tank can't handle it and will clog and back up the system, which means the option is either gas stations and rest stops, or the other option which is used often by gross band dudes on long stretches: "Hot bagging", which is to close the back lounge door, go in a plastic bag, then toss the bag out the back lounge window.
I cannot imagine these proper British boys will partake in the 2nd option.

"Hey it's Dan and Phil, i like your vi…"

Well, it's certainly nicer than option2 from cora's post (which I read as "hot banging" at first)

This is a cute/funny pic from the meetup: Is crunchyroll a sponsor for tatinof? Has anyone seen a list of sponsors yet?

It very well could be, which would explain the sponsored videos. Or maybe they just used the money from those sponsored videos to help finance the tour. I don't have a freaking clue, clearly.

if they just used the spon videos money to pay for the tour, there'd be no need to credit them as sponsors of the tour - it'd be just dan and phil using their money to cover it, it'd be kinda like listing YT as a sponsor. so yeah, assuming they're sponning the tour itself. but i do feel like we can expect that monster game thingy (i'm so educated) soon enough on the gaming channel, too, as these contracts would probably go hand in hand

also: that jealous!dan pic is golden, pretty sure it was staged to look like that, but if not, then wow, hilarity, and dan has zero chill

Thanks for the info. I guess that means that those two are their only sponsors, since I can't spot anything else.
Like someone else above already said they have already put up content from the Monster Legends company, Dragon City and World chef are from them. Those ad videos suddenly make a whole lot more sense. I say good on those boys for how they are handling this whole tour.

And yes the jealous!dan face is great, not matter if it was staged or not.

People, can the meet and greet pictures please go to the designated tour thread, that is kind of what it is there for after all. At least that is how I understood it.
