I've been a lurker for ages and will probably go back to lurking after this post, because I don't feel like I have anything interesting to say
But I have a free month of Vessel and I just watched Caspars vlog. There's about a minute conversation between Dan and Caspar = the confrontation, and then a couple of other clips featuring both Dan and Phil. Also, from what I could gather Dan and Phil were on Joe's team in the taco and drinks challenge. That's just what I got from something Joe said

Anyyyway, Dan looks ultra cute on those screenshots. I hated this jumper (sweater? I never know the right term) at first, but it's growing on me. Funny how such a gigantic person still manages to look so harmless and adorable at times all the time let's be real

He treats his fans like they are deseaced peasants during the m&g and after the show when he leaves he is THE queen of the universe screammign "deify me my little minions praise me and lick the ground i walk i have a documentary to film and i have to look nice LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME". Thats how i see it, i cant take anything that comes out of dans mouth seriously because his action says otherwise..

Have you actually met Dan or are you just going by the persona you see in videos?
I'm just curious because having met him and Phil a few times now I just wanted to come and say that I don't agree with any of the above. I don't think Dan (or Phil for that matter) treats his fans in the way you have said. I have been lucky enough to bump into them three times in non-m&g situations and each time he has been very quiet, and has let Phil begin the discussion and has joined in when he has felt comfortable. He is completely different in these types of situation than he is from what you see online and from what other people post. I wish I had actual video evidence of what he's like when you see them and don't shove a book or cry in their faces. I have probably had a much different experience to others with me being quite laid back and older. I'm not interested in a hug or a compliment from them, each time we have had general discussion about life, not D&P related stuff. He has never treated me like 'a deceased peasant', he has been very kind, in fact in NYC he thought we didn't have tickets for the show and he would have sorted something out for us. How is that treating us in a bad way? From what I've seen D&P are very kind to their fans (the example of the 2 girls who missed their meet and greet who they took backstage later springs to my mind) and they are probably two of the nicest youtubers to their fans.

I do however think it is a shame that he feels the need to be kinda OTT in m&g situations. I have seen the videos of him shouting and being very outgoing, but he isn't always like that. I think he tries to live up to the person we all expect him to be, like how he is in videos. I don't think we get to see the real Dan very often, especially not when he's on stage or doing a video. The Dan I've met can be very quiet and shy to begin with, he's just human like the rest of us. Let's not forget, we only see a small snapshot of their lives, we can't judge him just from an online persona.

I was worried throughout this whole video (because he's so stern towards the other YTers) and then at the end came the cuteness and awww. He wants them to wear matching shirts... Don't we all I do wonder why he's so nice to them though, do they even know him? (I'm a bit out of the loop on this)

Agree, it also applies to every celebrity basically. I always found extreme positive or negative attitudes towards any kind of a celeb to be a bit unwarranted, once you really think about it. You can like/dislike a famous person and what they present themselves as but, at the end of the day, hate (especially) is rather pointless. (If they haven't really fucked up, that is.) And there are always more obnoxious people - like Alfie But it's true that sometimes you just can't help it.

OT: Onison's attitude towards them has always creeped me out, idk.

I think you guys really encapsulated what makes phil attractive. The guy is gorgeous but he is also funny, sweet, caring, (secretly a little shit), and he really seems to listen. I think if I married dan we would divorce in a day because I am loud and opinionated with my friends and I rant for hours. I'm guess dan is the same since phil faked deafness I just feel like I get along with guys like phil who are confident but not bombastic. He lets others shine with no jelousy or spite and is loved and respected by many. He just is a a really good guy and I think dan realizes it which is why he's stayed with him for so long

no i havent met them. I go with what i see in videos from meetings. I cant listen to dans "NICE HAIR, SHIRT" "LET ME TAKE A SELFIE WITH MY FREAKISHLY LONG ARMS". Its loud and obnoxious and he sounds so fake and insincere to me. I think after that many m&G videos i watched during the UK tour i now can hear dan saying "80$ CHECK, 80$ MOVE AWAY FROM ME, 80$ CHECK"
also it always remind me of the way he talks down to his audience during liveshows and continues with that little speech in the end about how he appreciate everyone and they are his snowflakes(or whatever embarrassing thing he says)
I am not gonna sugar-coat everything i see him do. Whatever (questionable or not) he does people will find an excuse for him. Ok, i get it, people trying to be sympathetic but all i read most of the time are desperate excuses to make him look better. Maybe he is just a rude, obnoxious, pretentious person even behind his persona idk??

everytime i talk about dan, it all comes down to this i think: I CANT GET OVER HIS FAKENESS as soon as he opens his mouth i am like "dude, whats wrong with you, stop trying so hard and cut the crap."
