this was my exact reaction to reading this conversation. if anything, i'm frowning on deppy for referencing such an outdated meme (speaking as a total basic bitch who loves starbucks and lives in leggings)
also that picture was the first thing i woke up to this morning and
phil needs to wear his glasses more, damn and his hair looks like it's regressing back to 2010/11 hair, if so... ps dan's hand is so big i want him to sweep me up and put me on his shoulder like the gingerbread man at the end of shrek 2
am i really at the top of the page with this disgusting trash post

There is literally just me complaining about men making fun of girls and daphenaxa saying she finds the expression 'basic white girl' kinda offensive. There's no fuss, no need to roll your eyes so hard.

i mean i think they go to starbucks often enough for it to be pretty obvious that they're making fun of the stereotype, not perpetuating it. like at least 80% of people who make that joke do.
and christ, 'basic' as a big offence?

Good, thank you all for explaining. I guess the meme didn't caught my attention when it was popular, I wonder why. Oh right, I'm not from a Western country.

^ ironic it's kind of ironic that your title at the moment happens to be "pumpin spice pumpkin cookie", since the whole pumpin spice thing is actually part of the basic white girl meme. (which yeah, it was always pretty stupid, coming from guys - but then again I saw so many basic white girls OWNING IT in protest and that was kind of awesome)
...I've got nothing else to add. Deppy's sipping lattes so I mean what is there to say.

@eevee: I have thoughts on your comment on them not wanting to meet so many people. I follow Dodie on twitter and she often tweets about spontaneously meeting people and how she loves it and how she's trying to meet even more etc and the difference to deppy is staggering, so i understand how D+P's approach can seem antisocial and ungrateful to people.
On the other hand different people are different and not everyone likes making awkward smalltalk with overexcited tweens/teens. If i was in their position, meeting more than a few people on an outing that was suposed to be fun and relaxing would really ruin my day.
Also, when i see pictures or videos of Dodie's meet ups, i shudder, because it always looks very chaotic/unsafe and often somehow like a fire hazard. Like at playlist where she and all the meet up people were looking for a place to do a small concert and ended up blocking a staircase. If i was her i would panic in that situation (I only use her as an example btw, i'm sure there are others who operate similarly.) and the phandom is much more hysterical than Dodie's fans.
And i truly believe that the amount of people that would show up if they made very clear where they are would be quite big. I always remember the crowds that show up when youtubers announce that they are gonna be at the airport at a certain time, it's crazy. And then there's Alfie, doesn't he sometimes tweet his location and ends up getting swarmed?
I don't know, i just very much understand why they try to avoid fans "in the wild".
Regarding the free tickets, i agree with phamnotof, it's not reasonable to expect fairness in business. It's a simple matter of supply and demand. If i buy stocks at market entry and then the price drops because the demand is lower than expected, i won't get a refund either.
I understand why people who paid full price for their tickets would be bitter though

I have no idea what does Starbucks's pumpkin spice latte taste like, I need to step up my game I guess. Maybe I'll just bake the cookies, though. That's a good reason to rewatch D&P's video.

I guess what that Nicole something girl said last year really offended Dan, so he is still on his Phil defense squad mode.

Yeah, I just feel like...there are youtubers who do spontaneous free meetups, and those youtubers really have my respect, like Matthew Lush may be a skeevy person but at least he does spontaneous meetups for his fans on the regular. I don't know, I see how D&P could be just too famous for that, but my respect for youtubers who do it anyway is through the roof. I think those youtubers really understand that the fans are everything they have/are. I don't think it's possibl for D&P to forget about us though because this tour is seriously so great, and the ticket prices really aren't bad, and the tour locations are great, and the sheer amount of M&Gs theyve done is through the roof. AND they did cons. So I shouldn't be moaning but I'm glad you get where I'm coming from.
I've just been to Playlist a few times and I've witnessed D&P kinda running from fans and it breaks my heart tbh, those fans couldn't get into their M&G and just want to say hi quickly, what's the big deal

Does anyone have the VidCon panel(s ?) info they were supposed to be in handy? I can't seem to find it anywhere & I have this ugly nagging feeling that the first video one was supposed to be at the same time the added Dolby show is.

When Phil had his european adventure, he had some meetups with fans:
at 2:25.
I actually felt bad for him, because fans literally put him against the wall (but who i am kidding i'd be there too). D&P are quite famous, byt they also know how hard it can be to do a free meetup. :3
But the Berlin one was quite nice.

I made an account just so I can post about this and get your opinions, so...hello btw!
Has no one noticed Phil's recent like on Twitter?? I cannot screenshot or link sorry I'm on my phone and not sure how to use this website yet too properly but I will quote it:
It's from a girl called Eileen Greenman (?? Not sure who) and it says:
2 years ago today I moved to Los Angeles and it was the best decision I've ever made. Trust yourself and make the risk.
What do you guys think of this??

Both Dan and Phil follow her on Twitter. I've never heard the name, but she seems to be someone in the community who works with Ingrid Nilsen (and maybe other YouTubers) as some kind of management, judging from her LinkedIn.

Yes absolutely!! This was Playlist 13. (at least i'm 99% sure) There was the hotel lobby that was kinda two floors, the second floor was above a restaurant and then the first floor was next to the restaurant. So you could see into the restaurant from the first floor and stuff. So me and a few of my friends saw D&P walk into the restaurant. No one stopped them. We sat down in the lobby and decided to wait for them to come out in hopes of meeting them. 3 or so more girls saw us chilling and asked us what we were doing, and we said that D&P were in the restaurant and we were hoping to meet them after their dinner. They were like cool and sat down with us. No one was screaming, no one was peering into the restaurant to see them or take pics, we were all just chilling out and having a nice time socializing. Well D&P must've seen us because before we know it we witness them dash out of a side door and no one got to stop them. That was really disappointing since we were all being so respectful of their space and waiting patiently for them, and in total there were only like 7-10 girls waiting, so it wouldn't have taken long to meet us.
Another night my friend and I were walking outside the hotel and we saw D&P speed walking with I think Cat (???) and we tried to stop them and they wouldn't stop. It was just me and 1 friend. We kinda ran after them and they stopped when they realized that we really wanted to meet them lol. We told them that people were waiting for them the other night and were really disappointed and they kinda just didn't say anything and signed our passes and then wouldn't take a picture with us because they were in a rush. They honestly weren't as nice as they are at M&Gs that night.
