Here's the pic they were trying to recreate. alittledizzy yea it might have been because it was too quick and they didn't have time to plan or whatever but I don't get why something so small is overthought when they do and say worse, more implicit things on a daily basis? They need to have a talk and get on the same page on what they're willing and not willing to do.

SO. Someone found these reviews on Trip Advisor and im a little convinced it's dan and/or phil (granted I still can't figure out why they're this stupid but i digress)

Firstly, it seems as though the first review was for a very nice bar in thailand where this man got engaged

After looking, the tour ended and they had an afterparty in aus on Aug 25 where phil presumably took the picture he posted on Aug 27 saying 'goodbye aus'

Now, looking at flights, they easily could have flew to Thailand land on Aug26, took the less than three hour flight to hong kong on the 27th and we never would have known the difference.

Edit: now looking, considering time differences they even could have left the morning of the 28th. Phil tweeting that on the 27th in (UK time 1:30 PM) making us think they were just then leaving aus, we wouldn't have expected them in hong kong till the morning/afternoon of the 28th, and its less that 3 hours from hong kong so they 100% could have pulled it off.

The other three reviews were all posted on the same day (aug 29), presumably to make it harder to find and cover up some of this random shit idk, but the point stands that I'm finding it hard to believe someone who 1. lives in london (according to the profile), 2. has family who 'lives near reading' (the second review) and 3. happened to be in the same city at the same restaurant in hong kong is anyone but the nerds.

But hey, that's just my conspiracy theory, I really wouldn't put it past them to fly to Thailand under the radar and get engaged.

Yeah, I also want to know how the review got onto phan-twitter. If it's fake I can see how it would be easy to make the fake phil account and then post it on your phan-account, but why are we seeing it now, 4 months later? Idk, it obviously seems fishy, but there's also a little bit of hope in there

That Reading hotel review says "stayed January 2016".
I'm gonna be even more and say that they could have visited Reading / Dan's family 6th-10th of January. Of course it was well camouflaged, as Phil posted the baby vid react video on the 7th and Dan collected memes for his video on the 8th. During that time Phil also tweeted about seeing a play and being on a bus. (play in Reading? when do they use bus in London?) (the review also says that that person visited with family but don't interrupt me now, i'm on my demon phannie mode ) (also I don't know if they ever visited that zoo?)

But imo it's either them or just a coincidence, if the engagement thing was from the same bar I would 100% believe it's just a troll, but it's from Bangkok so ?? yeah they visited it, they have money and they wanted to see as much Asia as possible when they were in the right side of the planet.

i know the phandom is well-versed in editing posts online haha but to be fair, in this case, the reviews are all real. you can see them for yourself on the trip advisor profile of that user. the only edited part of this is that the engaged review was from hong kong, because it was in bangkok instead. i'm playing devil's advocate here because while it would be a dumb thing for deppy to do, there's just enough reasonable doubt that a phandom troll could have pulled this off or would have even tried.

Oh I have no doubt that it's potentially a troll, or edited certain parts to make it look shady. I'm just reminding that screenshots are unfortunately very misleading nowadays. Which is sad because it reduces the implied validity of a screenshot. If your very receipt is easily modified to twist the truth then what do you have left to back it up?

You've clearly never taken a look at 2008/2009 Phil's twitter. Oh buddy, the guy has atrocious spelling.

(This is not a statement on the validity or lack thereof re: trip reviews, just me dragging young Phil when I can.)

This is very funny, i've never laugh so much this early in the morning. My theory is the troll phandom person doesn't research well where the sky bar is and accidentally post the review on the Bangkok one Which one of you demon did this?

Ignoring the TripAdvisor review troll discussion for a bit, I'm gonna go back to Dan being or not being narcissistic for a real quick second because of you are teeny bit hypocritical about this tbh

Suffering from social anxiety doesn't mean that Dan can't perform, do public speaking, be loud etc. You're all right about that, I have experience with that myself (major social anxiety but don't have too much trouble with public speaking as long as I've rehearsed my stuff and got consistently high grades for it throughout school). But you can't completely turn around and then say that Dan's behavior can't be narcissism because he suffers from social anxiety. Those things can very much go hand in hand, socially anxious people can even have narcissistic personality disorder (which I don't think Dan has, just proving a point here) and in my opinion there are ways in which the two are quite similar; when you want to be really simple about it without any nuance you could say that both are an obsession with what people think of you. There's more differences of course, but I think that similarity is really important to keep in mind sometimes.

Having narcissist traits doesn't need to mean you're a terrible self absorbed person who doesn't care about others but only about themselves. I think YouTubers are all a bit narcissistic... you have to be at least a little bit of a narcissist do it I think. Looking at your face and listen to your voice for hours while editing and then putting it out there... I don't know if Dan's anti social behavior has anything to do with a narcissistic personality, but I wouldn't rule it out so quickly as is done here. If Dan not liking social situations equals social anxiety why can't him loving attention equal narcissism? Because people think of the latter as something negative?

I agree with this as well. I think when people were replying they were replying to the portion accusing dan of being narcisstic because he doesn't want to interact with people. That, in my perception of dan, is more of a social anxiety coping mechanism then him thinking I himself above others. Do I think dan is atleast somewhat narcisstic? Yea I do. He tend to think of himself highly sometimes, especially in terms of music taste, fashion, being socially aware etc, and really enjoys and embraces the attention he gets. I saw this more when seeing them live, while Phil would step a little back in the screaming and applause, Dan would step forward and encourage it. That being said, he's grown a lot and I feel like he's honestly become less obsessed with validation from peers and fans and has become comfortable in his current behavior.

I did see some narcisstic qualities when he defensively confronted his ls fans about asking about his documentary. I think he thought that everyone had placed as much importance in it as he had. These qualities aren't exactly bad IMO, because, as you said, all youtubers have some sort of narcissism. I just don't think that what hinders his sociability
