I'm super late on the Australia-reaction game, but I'm honestly so excited about Dan giving up some of his fashion/style inhibitions. Granted this could just be growth and him discovering what he wants to wear rather than some kind of shift in self-confidence, but regardless, I'm so so happy for him!
Totally agreed with
Phantasy. Ever since he debuted that black Vetements hoodie, I can't unsee Dan totally going for a Mitch Grassi vibe - except maybe a bit more delicate? (More
potato sacks collar-bone-baring sweaters please!) I love love love it. I love the ripped jeans, I love the natural hair, I love how much he takes pride in all of it, I just...
I love it.
Now, when will Phil move on from that horrendous hair?
As for merch: In all honesty, I can't say I like the new t-shirt? It seems a bit boring imho and I just don't vibe with white. At least it's just for the one event.

Girls screaming them to suck on it just feels like I'm watching them perform some pornographic act, it feels awfully like the ending scene of Requiem for a Dream. These girls are screaming in joy for them to suck on it. What the fuck is this this shit? If these were guys screaming at girls, people would feel a lot different. Sure, the action wasn't meant to be sexual, but 14 years screaming at them to "suck hard on it" particular at Dan, makes me sick. Jesus Christ, they're human beings, this is the kind of shit that makes me want to leave the phandom.
I'm conflicted here because I mostly agree. It's
so uncomfortable.
The sort of uncomfortable you get when you realize 14-year-olds' parents are paying hundreds of dollars for Dan and Phil to acknowledge them in a liveshow, but I digress. It sucks, but like... they bring it upon themselves? You can't just go tweeting shit like "choke me daddy" and expect your adoring fans not to take that as a cue and mirror it. I'm tempted to say "it is what it is", fans will behave inappropriately regardless. I'd rather this as a result of Dan and Phil behaving however they want than them catering to youth, so that 14-year-olds stop screaming "suck on it."
I'm a bit sleep-deprived at the moment, so I'm not 100% sure that makes sense or what I mean, but there it is.
