Loved the video, it might actually be one of my favorites on his channel. I've been less invested in D&P recently but all of the vids we got this week were so great, keep it up guys.

- I'm kinda dissapointed in Phil for not choosing Hello Internet and the PINOFs wtf is my life. His choices were really good too though.

I kinda wish the quizzes had been a bit more knowledge based, like the silly ones were kinda funny (tho what the hell was the PSL one?) but it would've been more interesting if Phil's actual knowledge about himself, his videos and other achievements over the years was tested. Do good quizzes like this even exist or just the silly low quality ones? Anyway it was a cute video, entertaining with some rewatch value. Nothing really amzing but that's fine, it was better than the normal vloggy filler. I also enjoyed it when Phil gave answers that went against the AmazingPhil persona. I hope we'll see more of him going against AP in the futute

I'm sorry, I know you hear enough thirsting out of me over Dan, but GOT DAMN Phil in those jump cuts with pushed back messy hair and glasses and a bit of stubble. Fuck. Me. Up. Relaxed home!deppy is my fave deppy and I don't know how they get anything done being around each other looking like that all the time.

I liked this vid quite a lot actually - was expecting it to be filler when I saw it pop up. It verged on it, but it was entertaining and the acknowledgement of fans' perceptions over the AP brand (and correcting it in many cases) was quite new and honest for that channel which gave it more of an edge. As some have said, this plays into Phil Lester vs AmazingPhil and I'd love to see more of that.

You know me by now - I live for the phan shit, and their own channels used to produce very little of that (even if they were featured together) so didn't always produce my favourite content. But this and the last dinof have managed to be seriously cute even without the other in.

This is my (kinda) comeback post and I'm here to say how mad I am. Fuck Phil Lester and his quiz video, tbh. That thing made me want to do all the quizzes of the video and more (it's a problem ok) and I discovered I'm 0% Phil Lester, can you believe this??????? Me? 0%? Outrageous!

And about the video: on a first watch I thought it was a bit cringy and I was very apprehensive about what was going to be read and didn't enjoy it as much. But on the second watch, on the other hand, I loved it! i cringed in advance when i saw the video title but phil proved me wrong, it was a nice video, didn't have me in tears like dan's last video but it was cute, very carefully 'phan neutral' too imo (in the sense that he had plenty of opportunities to no-phano and didn't take any of them)

I liked Phil's approach to these quizzes, he just answered with a positive light-hearted attitude and without dragging the questions (or makers). And he didn't shy away from the most ones, even though he must have expected those about Dan and Phil to be like that. I, for some reason, enjoyed seeing old gifs/pictures on the screen beside the video frame and the fact that Phil saw them when doing the quiz (fond mems/sort of like tumblr feed).
6.43 - I bet Phil got the caramel macchiato reference, hence a slight twitch in his face.
6.49 - that smile at being called "Youtube's very own pumpkin delight" (and not making an "ugh" face).
9.17 - (face expression) apparently Phil doesn't think he sees the world "in a beautifully optimistic way" (lol we now know he's hypochondriac).

Video thoughts:
I feel the same as fakelights it took me a couple of rewatches to like it. At first it was weird because it was persona but at the same time him making fun of persona. I think unlike Dan who is embarrassed of his old branding Phil seems to really like his persona. Its difficult for him to insult it but instead he regards it with fondness. Maybe it's why his change is much slower and harder to see, it's because he does not want to ever get rid of it completely because it's a part of him in some way. But there is also clear breaks now an then when we see Phil and how he regards his past, in this video I saw it as phil lester acknowledging his branding and showing he likes being known as someone who sweet and quirky. Hopefully now we can see a break away from that and look at this "Phil" as the past tense making way to another AP.

The quizzes were cringey AF but it was nice of him to do them without insulting the creators because if I was doing the quizzes I would cringe my ass off. Lion and llamas... My eyes are bleeding.

Of course because I love Phil I want to see more from him. Yea a quiz on a bed is lovely but not really creative or inspiring. It's a good filler but I expect more quality content in the future.

I had hoped for something more controversial but ok. :') But yeah Phil is very secretive about his taste in music, especially compared to Dan whose music taste I honestly know too much about.

I have a theory, based partly on how many interests and tasted they share (including in music back when Phil shared his tastes), and partly on why we no longer hear about it, that Phil is also into a lot of the music Dan's into these days. So stuff like:

- Kendrick Lamar
- MIA
- Frank Ocean
- The Weeknd
- misc other rappers and producers (somehow don't see Kanye in this list though )

And I think we don't hear about it because that would be very very off-brand for him. Don't try to sell me you only listen to sound tracks you little fucker, I see you. I. SEE. YOU.

I've been thinking about the ear thing and I came to a very sad conclusion: Phil didn't recognise Dan's ear. The part that was shown was actually Dan's forehead.

Look closely at 7:50 and then to Dan's forehead on the left side at 7:53.

I 100% believe this is true. It fits with how they work as a team. They seem to like setting each other up like that. Think Dan vs. Phils, and the impossible quiz. I think they get a little bit of a kick out of getting surprised, and surprising each other with things like that. Makes better content too. It makes me wonder if there were any quizzes that he didn't include in the video. I could see a troll Dan playing with him. "How Phan are you?" or something... Ngl, was kind of hoping for him to call Dan in to take one of the quizzes at the end to see how he did. A tiny bit disappointed about that. But I liked it nonetheless.


I missed the 7:58 "what am I looking at...?"moment first time around. Thanks Dizzy for that one. Now that is all I can think of too. I love that he left that in. I mean what else could that be in reference to? His own pubes? If so, where is that picture Philip? Do you have nudes out there floating around? Naughty. Either way, how could it not be about that area of either of them? And knowing Dan's ear in close up form? Uhuh. Just bros. My ass... I mean what?

Based on various things both D&P have said over the years, I don't think Phil is that into music. Like Dan saying he just listens to music for sounds, not words. (Same.) Phil saying himself that he never knows the words to songs and just makes them up. And his description of some of Dan's music as "too angry sounding".

My impression is that he's very casual about music and just likes whatever he likes without (over)analyzing it. He may not want to talk about it because he's not that passionate about it and/or doesn't feel like he's knowledgeable enough about it to offer opinions / recommendations / rants. Especially when he's around professional music critic Dan all the time.

I too enjoyed how he seemed to break into Phil Lester rather than AmazingPhil. It's especially nice to see him do it, as we don't usually get to see his non persona side.

That is the most enjoyable Phil video I've watched in a while. I don't really have much to add but I love all the little comments he made throughout the video. It also seemed a little bit less persona-ry? I don't know. I've always had a massive problem with the persona Phil puts forward in the videos when he's on his own and all the persona elements were still here in this video but it seemed more sincere. I just really enjoyed it.

I don't wanna get too analysis-y on Dan's family/home life but I thought it was interesting
