These gaming livestreams are just so great, so much natural banter and chemistry. They really work so well together. I hope they stick to the pattern of doing one every couple of weeks. Also the time works perfectly for me lol. I wish they streamed for longer, but I think they want to limit the time so that people will watch it later as a normal gaming video.
So guesses on Phil's next video? I thought it was interesting when Dan said that Phil will post a video on Thursday, but Phil himself wasn't sure. Do you think they filmed (or are going to film) a video together? Looking at Phil's channel, he doesn't usually go without including Dan in a video for more than 3 videos. And now it's been 3 solo videos on his channel.. I don't know if it's a conscious pattern or just a coincidence, but there might be a joint video coming on Phil's channel? (maybeee a ditl?? ..okay probably not, but we can dream)

Yeah, I watched a few of her videos before she was as popular as she is and she just seemed really ditzy. I don't understand why people like her and Shane get so many views for their conspiracy videos when there's way better theorists out there who actually do research on the topics they talk about and not just hear about it in someone else's video or do a quick Google search.twix wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:40 am idk why but i find this ridiculous and also hilarious so i'm sharing:
so, as you may remember, back in january up and coming youtuber michelle platti made a "youtuber conspiracy theories" video wherein she provided the world's least compelling phan evidence. The video didn't really gain traction until shane dawson plagiarized cited it for his own conspiracy video in march. many eyes were rolled.
a couple days ago, michelle uploaded another youtuber conspiracy video. She talks about phan again. She begins by discussing how it feels too awkward for her to approach dnp at conventions and such now.... and then she brings up another conspiracy: dan and phil are "queerbaiting" for views, because for some reason putting that in one of your videos is less embarrassing/insulting/unprofessional i guess. she says that dnp might have been inspired by one direction's larry ship despite one direction rising to prominence during the height of no-homo howell. she waffles for a bit and doesn't bring up anything typically cited as "anti-proof," e.g. customerservicedepartment.
I'm ready for a new joint video from them. It's only been a few hours from the livestream and I already feel deprived. Lmao. I'm such trash for them
I'm completely tapped out of ideas as to what their next joint video would be. A ditl would be incredible but I also doubt they'll make one anytime soon. How nice would it be though to get one after their little mini vacay with B&W? Any guesses to where they're going/what they'll be up to?

I was thinking they may go back to Edinburgh as they both seemed to enjoy the city and they didn't get to spend much time exploring the first time round. Though its probably not remote enough if they are wanting a more private, relaxing vacay. Really, I'm just hoping we get some cute instagrams.Ewok wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 1:05 am I'm ready for a new joint video from them. speaking of joint videos and ditl's...do you think they'd really go without posting a 2017 ditl?
i've been thinking about it more lately because i had a dream the other night that i somehow found myself on dan's personal facebook (his name was different...liek dan howec or something equally weird) which was private aside from a snippet of an up and coming ditl. which i remember nothing about aside from it being really strange.
basically i feel really starved for a new ditl and i wonder if they'd really go this year without doing one if they didn't have a new exciting city to film it in. do you think they wouldn't do another ditl in london because they've already got two? or do you think it's enough of a tradition that they'd find a way to fit it in?

I really hope they do one this year! I saw someone on tumblr saying they wanted an "autumn-themed" one and honestly how great would that be? or even another festive one (although I know the chances of them doing that are slim).awsugar wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 1:47 am speaking of joint videos and ditl's...do you think they'd really go without posting a 2017 ditl?

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not and there are just soo many comments to go thru that I just figured I'd post and hope someone else noticed what I noticed.....albeit non-important, just curious. I apologize for not knowing how to post pics to show
Remember "A Hungry Sleepless Night with Phil" the Kool Aid Kitchen bit - behind him was the small curved gray wall with the chrome light hanging from the ceiling and the plant, there was door behind him and that's all we could see & kinda figured that maybe there were windows to his left (unless flipped) based on the lighting, he stated in that video when he was sitting at Dan's gaming computer that he "came upstairs to get his phone charger" so that kitchen was on the floor with the snug that we never see them use in LS's anymore
Fast forward to Dan's LS the other day where he showed us the kitchen with the white wall behind him and the kitchen to his right (unless it's flipped) and there is a small wall of windows in the kitchen, he's on the gray couch that we see in the political/pizza picture so that kitchen is upstairs in the lounge with his piano nook
I guess my thoughts are on why a duplex would need 2 pretty decent sized kitchens, is that normal in the UK for a flat to have 2 kitchens/kitchenettes? I know that I've lived in a few places that were 2 floors; one had a sink and a little tiny counter space on one floor, kinda like a wet bar area and then a full sized kitchen on the main living floor but those in their videos seem to be quite big, is that usual?
I know Dan said to give up on trying to figure out the layout of this place but every sneak peek they give us rehashes my curiosity to figure this place out. I also know that this isn't really important but just wanted to know if anyone thought it was the same kitchen in both their videos, if anyone noticed this at all and I guess, if anyone really cares
I'm bored and can't sleep so forgive me and this silly post

(Prefixing by saying I don't actually even believe this theory myself but it has entered my head a few times when trying to understand the new flat's layout and your post reminded me of it)casualIDBstalker wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 5:48 am Not sure if this has been mentioned or not and there are just soo many comments to go thru that I just figured I'd post and hope someone else noticed what I noticed.....albeit non-important, just curious. (Also I think it'll be fun to discuss this on the forum)

I started thinking about this when I watched that Casper Lee interview with Joe Sugg where they said it was hard telling viewers they had moved apart.
If D&P wanted their own places they still wouldn't be able to move very far from one another because they work so closely together now the gaming channel is basically their main channel, and they might not want to freak us out by telling us they were moving to separate places because everyone would assume they weren't friends anymore.
It would explain how the flat seems to have so many rooms, and we can't work out how to connect. Most flats - especially in central London - wouldn't have two kitchens, so it'd explain this 'dual kitchen' thing and also the room coming off the moon-room that no one knew what it was.
It would explain that time they did the liveshow in the 'room that's not a room' or whatever they called it - it was a room in one of their flats that we don't officially know about. (Assuming for the sake of the theory they had decided which rooms of each flat they would show)
It'd even explain how Phil's room seems like a set: if they're in similar flats in the same block, they might each have a moon-room and it'd be too obvious for Phil to be like 'my room is also circular!' - either exposing them as being in 2 seperate places, or because the Phandom would go wild and take it as proof they were sharing a room. So he films in the spare room of his flat instead.
And the typing we can hear whenever he does a liveshow... it's not Dan, it's his SECRET ROOMMATE. (Or they just hang out in each other's flat's all the time, making moving out from one another pointless, but hey - they're rich)
This doesn't even necessarily have to be an anti-Phan theory: they've lived together since Dan was like 19/20, even if they're a couple they might feel it's time to have space for a year or so before they buy their forever home. I know long term couples who've done the same thing and then moved back in or even decided they prefer having their own space and just kept it up but stayed together.
I'm just saying... it's starting to add up...
I'm starting to feel like the phandom is collectively stuck in this "Groundhog Day" scenario with this conversation coming along every few weeks lately. I have no idea who Michelle Platti is but she sounds like she wants attention.twix wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:40 am a couple days ago, michelle uploaded another youtuber conspiracy video. I don't really have an opinion on the new theory but do go on, it seems entertaining enough.

But on a serious note, what makes you sure Phil was drinking the kool aid in a "kitchen".
The one time Phil talked about the kitchen was the window cleaner incident in his liveshow, and he referred to it as having a balcony.
And i thought people figured out that downstairs: there is Phil's room, the gaming room, the slounge (area with their old couch etc.) and the area where Dan films his videos (behind the glass wall).
And upstairs is their living space: lounge, moon room (with an en-suite bathroom), piano area where Dan does his ls, and now an open plan kitchen.

I like the gaming livestreams a lot, as people have been pointing out they just feel natural and cute. It’s also a reminder that these guys are funny on the spot. I think both of them have great humor and good sense of timing. So it’s nice to see that this is true without edit. I’m not too sure about making a series out of the cooking game, though. I would love another, unlaggy, Mario Cart. I felt like I was missing out on actually getting to see Phil play.
I find it fascinating how similar, in away, the streamings (well, mostly the last one) are to a regular gaming vid. I assume they might pause more often, to catch their breaths or to discuss how to move forward, but imagine this is what a lot of their raw material looks like before editing and it makes if feel like a bts in a way.

I’m sure this is part of it, “rewarding” subscribers. And maybe they want to “reward” people who are more likely to care. A lot of people will be very happy if their comment is featured in a video and they can only pick a handful of comments. By only picking subscribers they might filter out the people who wouldn’t care. I don’t know if this makes sense. I feel like they are mentioning the the comments more lately (compared to recent years, they used to interact a lot), but I might be wrong. Maybe they want to interact more/strengthen the community (and make people aware that they actually read them).awsugar wrote: Thu Sep 07, 2017 9:46 pmthe way they talked about it, it seemed to me like a way to get people to subscribe as they'll only be choosing comments from subscribers. i know they're not exactly starved for subscribers (or views, for that matter) but it's interesting. they're quite close to hitting 3 million on dapg, i wonder if that has anything to do with it.drearyquery wrote: Thu Sep 07, 2017 9:41 pmI found it interesting that they're gonna do shoutouts for livestream comments. You're right - there's nothing to suggest he's drinking Kool-Aid in a kitchen! Damnit, you've found a flaw in my totally plausible 2 flats theory. I'll have to go back to the drawing board...malday wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 10:49 amit all makes sense now!

I'm 73 years late to the party due to unexpectedly working later than usual, but that was so great omg. Both seemed to be in a really upbeat mood, the game lent itself well to live streaming and the quality was great (thank god for no lag this time). Especially enjoyed Dan's "love you Kath" and also his soft hushed whiny tones before clicking the ad button. Also Phil has never uttered a truer statement than when he said tomato soup is the worst soup. It really is.
I've been thinking this as well. I feel like it's always been a tradition borne out of convenience, with the exception of the festive ditl. Manchester was probably meant to be a one-off, then London came about due to popular demand and as a reward for voting for them to win the Sony Golden Headphones award, and Japan and Australia were convenient as they were travelling during them. I wonder if, due to wanting to keep their current location more private than the last London flat, they're hesitant to do a ditl that centres around it in any way. I can't personally see them doing one whilst on holiday with Bryony and Wirrow, so unless they travel again at some point this year maybe they won't do one? I hope they do, as I love their ditls (festive ditl is god tier Dan and Phil content tbh), but hope is fading fast and my crops are dying

I thought Dan stating that Phil will upload a main channel vid on Thursday but not mentioning himself uploading at all within the next week was really interesting. I have no guesses for what it could be about, but obviously I'd love it to include Dan. Could just be that they'd discussed beforehand their upload schedule for while they were away, knowing they needed to upload vids on Tuesday and Thursday to make up for the lack of live shows. Maybe Dan just knew he wasn't actually going to be able to get a video ready to upload, so they decided gaming vid Tuesday and Phil vid Thursday maybe? Whom knows tbh.rainydays wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 12:47 am So guesses on Phil's next video? First of all welcome! Second, that's not a silly post, I've been thinking about this as well and it hasn't really been brought up. I think it's entirely plausible that their duplex has two kitchens/kitchenettes. The dark grey wall does seem to be downstairs (though I suppose it could be the other wall of the kitchen we got a peak of in Dan's ls, but the ceilings don't seem high enough for the upstairs). Yes, it could just be part of the slounge and Phil could have gotten water from the bathroom and a vase from a coffee table (jk he said it was in their cabinets with the regular glasses) and have brought it and the sugar canister down ahead of time.casualIDBstalker wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 5:48 am Not sure if this has been mentioned or not and there are just soo many comments to go thru that I just figured I'd post and hope someone else noticed what I noticed.....albeit non-important, just curious. What is interesting to me, is the terminology they used in their first ls in the duplex. They were working out on what to call the area they were in (downstairs lounge with the old sofa crease) and they used "snug", "slounge", "tv snug" and "lazy hangout zone" after first referring to it as a living room (they also said they would be filming their videos in there, but we've only seen it in 'A Hungry Sleepless Night With Phil' and really only that one corner and possibly the dark grey wall area. I feel a bit cheated. I want to see the other side with the pixel mirror. They made a point that all their familiar stuff was down there and acknowledged that that is what we were attached to). Anywho I know I've brought it up before months ago, but snugs do tend to be next to, or part of kitchens.
I think their duplex could possibly be workable as two separate living spaces for two (or three or even four) people *if* the moon room/master bedroom is upstairs. I know Dan implied that it was downstairs in his moon room ls, but I'm not entirely convinced (mainly because of the flooring). So conceivably a person or couple could live upstairs with their master suite, open light filled lounge, kitchen with balcony and little piano/office nook and one or two other people (friends, kids, mother-law) could live downstairs with at least two bedrooms (AP and DAPGs), (shared) bathroom, slounge, glass office area, maybe kitchn(ette) and who knows what else.
I'm not saying that's how they live (it seems they mainly live upstairs and film downstairs, but obviously there is some cross-over: they have been doing their liveshows upstairs and they probably hang out in the slounge a bit. I'm sure they had ideas of how they would use the rooms when they first moved in, like Dan saying he would do his LS from his glass closet video background, but those changed as they actually lived there), I'm just saying the duplex could be marketed that way. I don't buy into them living separately at all, even if it is just a floor apart.
All of this is heavy speculation based on what little we've seen. But if they did have a second kitchen(ette) downstairs, would they actually keep it stocked? Like beyond some snacks and drinks? Would it have glasses in the cabinets and silverware and a sugar canister? I find it slightly more likely that all of that was brought from upstairs. We don't see any cabinets, countertops or tables in that video, we just assumed it might be a kitchen because he was making Kool-Aid standing up somewhere.

I would love for Phil's next video, or perhaps Dan's upcoming university video to feature the slounge/more of the downstairs (sketches please Dan, sketches!) And I agree it's about time for an AP video featuring special guest star Daniel Howell. Good of him to volunteer Phil for Thursday, (I agree he probably realized after his ls that his video wouldn't be ready, unless he really is posting it this weekend, which still leaves Tues and Thurs needing to be filled) now help him out Danny Boy! (Sorry about all the parentheses.)

Something I quickly wanna mention to contribute to the 2 places discussion - in the recent joint LS Phil referred to the bathroom as "my bathroom". Not "our", but specifically his. Sure, it's a lot more common to have two bathrooms, but I thought it would fit in.
I am on mobile so I can't link it, but feel free to analyse away.

Theory: Janice is super territorial. Didn't want Phil to have any of his old stuff, demanded Phil have an entirely fresh start.
Those Stephen King books and Buffy dvds on the shelf above Dan's computer? Bad influence on a toddler. Phil's plants - what if the baby tried to chew the leaves? And don't even mention the cacti. Phil's shoes that were in the moon room? Don't want the baby to accidentally strangle itself with the shoelaces. The mirror from Phil's old bedroom propped in the moon room? Might fall and crush the baby! Phil's backpack behind Dan in the last liveshow Dan did was full of extra non-baby-safe things he stores there. Joint owned board games on the shelf? Well, it's not like Phil has time for whimsy like that with a kid approaching toddlerhood. Phil's centipede pic matching the floor in the moon room? Janice didn't want him to release it anywhere near their flat so she made him take it to Dan's to let it go.

To me it looked like he made the kool-aid in downstairs lounge, so my vote is on he brought the stuff downstairs before filming. But I too definitely did pay attention to Phil mentioning his bathroom. I think he probably for real uses his own bedroom and his bathroom is the one nearest to it.
I loved Dan's liveshow, not a fan of him playing with those damn filters but other than that, it was cute.
I love both types of live shows, but I do kind of miss his younow liveshows where he is able to focus more on the topics and goes on long rambles about them. But I also want to see these mobile liveshows that are more light. Just give me all kinds of content pls.
The gaming live stream was so much fun! Rewatching it now and it's interesting how it looks like a normal edited video. I wish they'd stream gaming every week, but every couple of weeks is good too.

LtrllySusan, I definitely think there are at least two bathrooms in that apartment and that one of them is very close to the gaming room (he was gone for less than a minute to check on his contact lens). I picture the gaming room and AP room as being near each other, with a bathroom in between them (the one we saw in the sleepless night video), all in a little corridor off of the slounge (but of course I could be very wrong).
Regardless of where Phil sleeps at night, the AP room is "his bedroom" and thus the bathroom adjacent to it (or at least on the same floor) would be "his bathroom". The moon room/master bedroom seems to have an ensuite, so that would be a second bathroom, and maybe there is a half bath for guests upstairs (especially if the master is downstairs), but maybe not.
However, just thinking about the language of "my bathroom", or "my bedroom" I don't see why the singular possessive, used casually in a conversation has to rule out joint possession. I could easily use "my", "our" and "the" interchangeably for any of the rooms in the house that I share with my family (with the exception of my son's bedroom and my husband's office) without it implying that room is mine and mine alone.
Factor in the very real possibility that they are in a closeted relationship and are used to saying "my" instead of "our" (yes I know they probably mostly said "our" or "the" when referring to the bathroom in the old apartment, but that's because we knew there was only one) and I see absolutely no reason why any of this would indicate separate places.

I agree with with what you're saying regarding the use of my/mine etc. He could also quite easily be in Dan's bathroom for whatever reason (it's looks better on camera, less messy idk), but still calling it his for the sake of the video.autumnhearth wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 3:11 pm LtrllySusan, I definitely think there are at least two bathrooms in that apartment and that one of them is very close to the gaming room (he was gone for less than a minute to check on his contact lens). Around 3:43 i A Hungry sleepless night it looks the wall next the door is curved, like the bathroom is on the concave side of a curved wall.

Don't forget the lava lamp, what if it hypnotize the baby and it turns into a serial killer? Janice wouldn't want that.
But really, they've said the apartment is confusing and I believe it, because I think it was implied that there's another floor ABOVE the kitchen and lounge with the computer nook? I thought that's where the moon room is, because in the joint ls Phil said that he keeps forgetting to bring the cleaning wipes "upstairs"

Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

Oh shit this got dark real fast; what if Phil's got a whole Mrs Rochester situation going on with Janice..liola wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 3:27 pmalittledizzy wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 3:01 pm Theory: Janice is super territorial. Really though I'd like this theory to keep developing until they've got not 2 flats, not even 3, but the entire building. Dan and Phil: Cowboy Landlords, coming soon.
Thanks and have a great day! Oil me

They're clearly forward thinkers. They'll snare in youtubers like Dean and Dodie and Hazel for the merch business while they're relevant, and then become their landlords once youtube inevitably crashes and the dreams of multimillion dollar homes fade away.fancybum wrote: Fri Sep 08, 2017 3:36 pmReally though I'd like this theory to keep developing until they've got not 2 flats, not even 3, but the entire building.
