I'm here to say that I've had enough of furries, and they should really start doing something for the scalies.

And now excuse me but I'll go back to my neverending argument of whether tentacle porn can be considered part of the furry community or not. :scram:

EDIT: jesus i'm so sorry that this is top of the page, I truly am
Will probably never be over the BONCAS and the beauty of Phil Lester.

it's us. we're the community. they play "what would idb say?" and overanalyze the mundane day they had.
Then we could overanalyze their overanalysis! Shit that would actually be fun.

I'm guessing Sims video, and the "certain community" are people who ship Devan. Dan's mentioned a few times in Sims videos that people are really rooting for Devan to get together. It startled me a bit. I could ship a rock with a twig, but the Sims just seem too hollow.

D: That helps.
P: That helps a lot. If you were a room full of scary journalists or something like that, I'd probably be shaking before I go on because I'd say the wrong thing or I'd be awkward. So I do get actually quite nervous before speaking in different situations-
D: What do you do in a situation like that? Where it's not like friends and family cheering you on, but people who are like [deep voice] hello.

I feel like that's a bit of a specific anxiety that Phil has never clarified so well before; that he's much calmer speaking to their fans than he is speaking to journalists or professionals. He seems to be very quickly eased by feeling like whoever he is talking to is rooting for him, even though surely he knows our inclination for over-analyzing and extracting meaning from every single word. I almost feel like Dan would be the opposite; not that he'd liked being grilled by journalists but we all know how Dan reacts when he's talking to us and he feels like we're reading too much into things he doesn't want us to read into.

It makes me notice again how much more quick Phil is deviate from common answers during II, and how Dan without fail every single night falls back on basically the same jokes. I get the impression Dan is the one that doesn't feel too comfortable ad-libbing.
i don't feel that what i have to say spoils the content of the show in any way so no spoiler but: i find that super interesting that dan seems the most uncomfortable with ad libbing. in gaming videos (and any video they do together that's not scripted, really) dan is definitely the most talkative and (no one attack me please) carries the videos with his bants, imo. and it's something i think about a lot. i think about how dan is able to have funny on-the-spot commentary while playing a game and how i don't think that's something that i could ever do. i only ever think of the funny comeback when it's too late to say it. so, on youtube at least, i think dan seems to ad lib quite well. interesting to see that they switch roles like that in front of an audience.
While I don't agree he single handedly carries videos, I know what you mean, but there's a difference between filming a video with someone you're extremely comfortable with and knowing you have complete control on what is being showed to your audience thanks to the editing, and doing all of it online. Even during liveshows, Dan is the most nervous, he overthinks his words and tries way too hard to make a point clear that he often ends up saying opposite things in the span of the same conversation. I love him, I love how open he tries to be, but I've said countless times how sometimes his liveshows honestly makes my anxiety skyrocket, he fidgets so much and has so much anxious energy that - for someone like me, with anxiety and who relates too much to him on a lot of things - ends up making me fidgety as well.
I definitely think you guys nailed the issue for Dan, he seems to worry about misspeaking or overexplaining but feels better when he's got the safety net of knowing what he's saying will be edited. I feel like he's got that twofold issue of wanting to connect with us (probably more than Phil does) but knowing that the more he connects the more he has a reason to genuinely fear that backlash (which Phil doesn't so much).
dancy wrote: Thu May 24, 2018 7:10 pmUnrelated but I was rewatching D&P's Insta Stories since they haven't posted much today and the ones with their bath bombs reminded me of the fact that I'm still kinda interested in a candle haul from Dan and since I don't think it's likely at this point that he'll make a video, it'd be nice if he did it on Instagram instead.
I see your candle haul and raise you: ig stories from inside a Bath and Body Works while on tour in the US, in the style of their previous Lush ones. Their mission: find the candles that are the essence of Dan and Phil.

jumping in to say +1 to what everyone said, but also adding in my own two cents as well.

i feel like, socially, phil is the type that is more comfortable when people already know who he is and how he does things. he doesnt have to worry about disappointing first impressions because people already know him, as opposed to interacting with people who doesnt know jackshit about him personally - like the gym trainer, gas men, etc. i wonder if it stresses him thinking that people will get the wrong idea about him?

meanwhile, dan definitely has his "phil is my safety blanket" moments. but also, i feel like he is more afraid in disappointing the people that DO know him and most of the time these are the people that he genuinely cares about. thats why he overthinks and says too much. he wants us to know his true intentions but is terrible at organizing his thoughts unscripted (im the same way tbh so i dont really blame him, its tough). on the other hand, people that dont know him personally are much easier to handle because he could just put up his wall (acting friendly but keeping a distance) and call it a day.

tldr;

phil to new people: "oh no what if they hate me?"
dan to people he cares about: "oh no what if they start to hate me?"

Hey guys so I’m going to the Cardiff show tonight and I just had a quick question for the people who have already gone to the show. With the pink and purple hoodies are they available at the merch stalls at the show or were they only available at the pop up stores?!? I need to know wither I need to save my money to get one at tonight’s show or go ham at the kat Von d counter in Debenhams. If anyone know could you please let me know. Thanks :love2:

At least they weren't available at the show I went to last week, so I'm assuming they were pop-up store exclusives. Maybe they'll be sold on the website with the rest of the tour merch later this year?

Based on the instastories within the past few minutes, I'm guessing they took advantage of a second night at home. I hope they're enjoying these little stopover visits with their own bed for both relaxation but also filminggg. I feel like if they are prefilming we won't really see what they're doing til they're in the US. Dan's email post makes me wonder if he was doing an ISG?

I am surprised there's been no attempt to do any of the Rize livestreams though. Surely doing some of those must be part of the sponsorship?

In other news, the sweatshirt Dan's wearing in his and Phil's latest IG stories is an Alexander McQueen. TBH, it's very on brand, so I can only give him props.

Dan's tweet could've been about anything... hopefully the TBC dates.

But yeah I reckon they've been using this time to do some filming. I doubt they'll be able to play the Sims while they're on the road, so they might've filmed more than one video of that. And maybe some kind of series like they said they would (no clue which game they'd play though). There were 9 days between GWF and Bucket of Doom and also between Bucket of Doom and Mount Your Friends, so I wonder if that's gonna be the schedule they're gonna try to stick to for the gaming channel during the tour.

I'm hoping they'll do a live show on that app sometime soon. The IG stories are lovely but I'd really like to hear how the tour has been for them thus far.
alittledizzy wrote: Fri May 25, 2018 2:16 pm
Yikes, I hope that didn't actually happen! That reminds of how I saw a post on Instagram yesterday asking whether it'd be a good idea to have D&P kiss their cheek as a M&G pose. Of course they wouldn't be comfortable with that, use some common sense! Dan already doesn't seem too fond of hugging, let alone a kiss.

Okay. I’ve never given a single thought to designer sweatshirts and yet... I really want to see Phil in this:

I don’t think he would ever spend that much, but a girl can dream (and still be horrified at the price tag). Also this is beautiful:

Okay, I’m done.

I'm curious about Rize as well, even though I don't really like the idea of migrating to the next YouNow owned flop app. But it's odd that there hasn't been any mention yet.

Now thats all I’m gonna think about while I’m there. I don’t have any friends in the fandom so now I’m gonna be looking out for a rainbow dress. If anyone sees me come say hi aswel I’m in green docs with yellow lace, pin strip trousers with my no fun top. Oh and also I’ll have green eyebrows. It’s a look....I know. I hope anyone that seeing the show tonight has a great night. Have fun guys. <3

Yoooo! I’m gonna be in another Danosaur shirt I think and we are heading to a bar now for a couple. Meet anyone who wants to hang at the Be At One in about ten mins?
