I am lying on the metaphorical ground weeping at how happy that selfie makes me.

Dan took pity and gave us an actual present!
Who knew that a global pandemic is all it would take for us to finally get a Christmas Couple Selfie
Love these pics! And thought they should be on this page too Merry xmas everyone

With the combination of the twerking santa nose filter from last year I have come to the conclusion that one of Phil's emerging festive traditions is to post a story with the most cursed christmas filter he can find. And scar us every year.

I'm very late and the day is essentially over, but my gosh, I really loved waking up to that selfie this morning. So cute to think that they were probably having a little Zoom Christmas when that was taken.
I love that them posting that selfie and highlighting that they're together this Christmas came so easily and that they just.... did that. First thing this morning. Gave my heart feels.
Either way, I hope everyone has had a lovely holiday and/or day off. Sending you all love, IDB!
Just a quick catch up of other opinions I have had recently. The content has been super lovely lately. I've been really enjoying Phil's videos and chats with friends.
I did notice that there wasn't many people listening live compared to watching it back. I've been watching them on YouTube when I can. I also like seeing faces too. But it did shock me that it was about less than 3,000 people per chat.
Now, the main reason for my comment. I loaded up Twitter and there was an article from Dan in the Guardian talking about young people and mental health. This seems to be part of his Young Minds work.
Quite an interesting read. I particularly liked the reflections on the NHS and the general lack of support for young people in the UK.
Edit: removed the link as I saw after posting that it has kindly been provided by LadyLackless

I think some of it has to do with the app being terrible. I've downloaded and updated it several times and it just kicks me out all the time. I'd love to listen live but it's impossible. Plus the phandom being smaller than when liveshows last were a thing, they're not on schedule so you can plan for it etc.
The article was really nice! I miss hearing him rant about things he's passionate about. Also, was that a dig at his brother with the expensive retreat comment?

It's nice to read an interview with Dan in the mainstream press (though it certainly could have used some copyediting--to at least spell his name right in all instances).
Can anyone work out where his photo might have been taken?

I think the article was a really good indicator of where Dan is at right now and it makes me feel very happy and proud of him. I think everyone is going to have a different point where advice like that actually works (or some may never) but it does just make me feel happy for him as a person that he's been able to find that and that it seems to have improved his quality of life so much.
The replies under The Guardian's tweet of the article are absolutely horrible. Don't wade through that unless you feel like fighting.

Dan article is nice, nothing groundbreaking or surprising from him imo, just nice to hear what he's been thinking about. The article seemed a little weird like had quotation marks missing in a few places and stuff? But whatever.
Today on: Deppy appearing in dreams, I had a dream last night that Phil made a video that was like fun, short, extremely low budget (i.e. just using things from around the house) sketch reenactments of favourite and famous movies and it was like a game for viewers to guess/figure out the movie. It was mostly Phil but Dan's hand had a few side roles, then walked through shot for one and everyone was like asdkljfa;sdjf. Phil did some funny terrible acting with thrown together, half-assed outfits and it was great.
I feel like this would honestly be a fun video since they are both such movie nerds and it's just an excuse to be goofy. idk how my dream brain comes up with this shit.

I haven't read the tweets under the article but, by the quote they went for as a header, I can imagine. I often wonder how these things come across to people who aren't familiar with him since we obviously read these things from a very different perspective than the people who stumble across him in a mainstream media interview. I tried reading this article from that point of view but I don't think it was the best one to attempt that with, it seemed really disjointed and all over the place? I imagine that's much more to do with the interviewer than with Dan.
I woke up on boxing day to the Christmas selfies and it was like Christmas 2.0 for me! Yeah, it sucks that their first Christmas day together was potentially the result of a pandemic (who knows, it may have already been the plan!) but I don't exactly think either of them would have been mourning spending Christmas together. My phan heart was full of Christmas and uncle deppy and will not-so-secretly be holding out for a Dan Phil and Phriends as the ultimate happy conclusion to the dumpster fire of a year that was 2020.

Just got slapped in the face with the knowledge that we still have one more stereo coming.
Even if it's not Dan, I'm excited. That little content hiatus between Christmas and the first couple weeks of January has always been a thing with Dan and Phil so knowing there's at least one more thing coming is really exciting and different.
I also put up the full Phil and Martyn live from Stereo on youtube the other day if anyone wants another listen without having to use the app:

Okay things are quiet... so lets start my favorite game: new year predictions.
Throw out some predictions for Dan and Phil in 2021 and I'm gonna put them all together in a google doc that we can revisit throughout the year to see who nailed it and how they surprise us. It can literally be anything. Guesses about new projects, titles for Phil videos, places they might visit when they can, tweets you think they might make, things they might do in their personal life, etc.

was it common knowledge that dnp's murder house flip show was made in america, but as a full series about different houses, rather than focusing on one home? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10916076/
this is irrelevant but it has been bothering me, and i only found the original video the other day, so i needed to share it. in a sims video that i rewatched from 2015 (#15 at 6:17) phil tells the rich kids with minis story, but says that he couldn't be friends with them after their sister bit him. in his hometown video (also at 6:17 - spooky), he says that he couldn't be friends with them because they pressured him to smoke (and says that the two sons were the only children - meaning there was no sister). he told this smoking story in his "smoking fail" video from 2012, but referred to five boys from his street who would only let him join their gang if he smoked. so, what i'm trying to say is: what is the truth? is it all true and he just merged stories together?

With Dan being announced as the last guest, I hope Phil can continue his leading Youtube titles, but this time it will actually be about them. Like, just picture how well the series of Our Worst Dating Experiences, The Story of How We Met, A New Member of the Family, and Our Engagement Story would flow together.
Kidding, but also not kidding. Phil, hit me up, I've already come up with 10 different titles for you.

So excited for the stereo with Dan! Between this and the outfit video, this is more joint content than we have had in an age. I wonder if something’s up lol.
I’m glad Phil got to chat with people who aren’t Dan, as it’s nice to see him interacting with others. Doesn’t mean I’m not super excited to hear him talk to Dan lol.

Yes! But ‘Our Engagement Story’ would be a long discussion about their relationship over the years with youtube engagement and their growing-then-shrinking audience.
(ngl, I’d watch the hell out of that.)
I can’t quite believe it, I mean obviously I’d hoped but I just got so used to disappointment... aaaahhhhhh!!!!

My bets on the title being: Saying goodbye to Dan. I’m kicking him out and keeping the fish
But really I’ve got so much anxiety. I didn’t think we’d get this and now we have I don’t want it. Take it back it’s too much pressure. I will unfollow amazingphil if there is no talk of “personal adventures”.

TItle's gonna be "Moving Out" and we're all gonna fucking panic except it's just gonna be a Stereo where they discuss buying a home.
AND I'M HERE FOR IT.
Also could NOT be more excited, I am literally losing my shit!!! Who knew I would ever get quite this excited about Dan and Phil (the duo) doing something together??? Who fucking knew!!!

I'm SO thrilled!! But does this mean I finally have to cave and download the Stereo app? I reeeeally wanted to avoid doing so, but I don't want to have to wait too long to hear their conversation...

The only thing I can say is that the past couple of live joint experiences we've had in December haven't been the greatest for phandom and that makes me scared for what could happen in the year 2020 of all years
