Ngl I ran to sign up to Patreon. I saw a lot of criticism on twt, but quite frankly... I appreciate getting to support creators directly like that? I'm not a merch buyer, but this is something I happily do. I also think its funny because weren't people begging them to get a patreon for ages?

Anyway watched the patreon version of the podcast plus the studio tour and my GOD phil is unhinged. It feels like the giddiness of getting to come out fully has absolutely unleashed something in him and he is completely out of it now. Thought Dan was terrible? I kept on saying "please I need to know less" to myself.

The seperate bedrooms thing was done so elaborately and consistently by them honestly I think they had most of us convinced, except a few bedroom truthers lol. Since coming out, I had assumed they were just a slightly unusual seperate rooms couple.

I do now have some mild historical parasocial speculation
Which bedroom was the 'fake' one? Thus, of the two iconic bedsheets, which one is a lie?
Did they pretend to sleep in seperate rooms when people came to stay?

I was fully set on them being this kind of couple because I know plenty IRL including married couples that have this setup so that they have their own space/don't ruin the sleep of the other if they have an unusual sleeping routine. For me, I always thought of them as the sort of couple who didn't do much PDA, and I don't expect them to do much on camera...or else I will have a heart attack.

To answer your question: I think a lot of people were under the impression that Dan's room was the set because Phil's room had the TV and Dan one time made an anecdote that he was watching TV in bed. Also, back in the Manchester apartment days people analyzed the background of Phil's bedroom and determined that the creases in the pillows and the multiple phone chargers either side of the bed proved that they both slept in his bed.

The last week has felt like a fever dream of a fanfiction come to life. Genuinely. For about ten years, I have had random dreams like this where they came out as a couple and made all these innuendos and casually addressed things people have speculated about for years...and then I would wake up and be like lol as if that would ever happen! It's so odd that it makes all our discussion posts on this site feel so redundant.

But I really would love to see them nerd out and show us a bit of their more niche interests. I have been having fun with this open Deppy era, they have for sure dragged me back in.

Like so many others, I am back after a while. It was so nice to be able to come someplace where people understand me. I tend to lurk even when I am active but I had to make a post today because the podcast broke my brain.

I am glad to see other people are a little broken too. I was doing really well with the relationship reveal but the shared bed reveal today just f'd me up. Like others have said, I TOTALLY went with the seperate bed couple. I am not in a relationship but if I was, we would have seperate beds for many of the reasons mentioned. It is making me rethink things I had stopped specualating on and I am concerned for my mental health if they continue.

Also, I have seen some comments about them having a paywall and I have to say that after fifteen years, I think they're allowed to make some money on bonus content if they'd like.

And finally. I have to say. My favorite video (as portrayed in my icon) has become even more my favorite since the reveal!

they do seem astoundingly unobservant when it comes to people hitting on them that aren't each other. i wonder if it comes from staying quiet for so long and so they assume people maybe assume straight?

also, Kylie Kelce's podcast is only about 45 minutes without commercials and Rhett and Link kept it short during the summers. I personally appreciate a shorter podcast. I have trouble tackling New Heights sometimes because of the length.

For me it was obvious they actually were often sharing a bedroom/room since the moon room in the duplex apartment, because why would Phil need a full on bedroom set in an apartment only rented as a studio, if he actually needed a separate bedroom? Idk I always thought they were a fairly normal couple in that way (not that having separated bedrooms as a couple is weird, I guess less common in society expectations)

I loved the podcast, I wish it was longer for sure and I noticed how even after the reveal they seemed unable to say the word "couple" when talking about what they had hard launched. I guess more than a decade of censoring themselves will take some time to undo. But I was especially happy to see how comfortable Phil seemed! It must have been even more anxiety inducing than we thought for him, and now he can be happy and unhinged as he wants!

Bit the bullet and paid for the Patreon (£5 tier). I'm surprised they didn't talk about the Patreon in the audio podcast this morning - I actually wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't gone back to watch the video version (as I no longer use X or Instagram).

It was sooooo worth it. The 15 minute chat after the podcast was so much more casual and less curated, much more Stereo yapping vibes which I really enjoyed. They are good at that sort of thing. I know I said podcasts need structure but I think that only applies if it's going to be a very produced podcast. I would love if the entire podcast was as unedited and unhinged as the last 15 minutes. I'm interested to see how the more "produced" episodes go over the next few weeks.

As it is, I don't really understand why they had to cut bits out of the episode for the audio version - I don't mind that I can't see the studio when I'm listening to the audio, I'll look that up later if I want to. It just seems like way too much work to have 3 separate versions and it wasn't that fun for me to have to rewatch the video version entirely to try and pick out which bits were different once I noticed there was like an 7 minute total length difference.

I will probably just watch the podcast on Patreon from now on as that's the most complete version.

I guess I have mixed feelings about her talking about their vid/relationship, but also I feel terrible for the way she was treated by the phandom, especially since she literally knew they were together the whole time.

Like her or not, there are a lot of people that owe an apology to Cat. Her treatment by the fandom was nothing short of horrific at times, no one got it worse. And like, yeah did she (and Louise) push the boundaries a bit in terms of using their friendship with D&P for attention... possibly! But the boys have been adults this whole time and could handle it, and in fact did handle it. No need to be a knight in shining armour for them..

Honestly it is a credit to her and everyone else who has recieved harassment from the phandom who probably knew (Crabsticks, Louise, PJ etc etc) that they did keep the secret. D&P chose their friends well

Of course I caved and also joined the Patreon literally as soon as the page loaded for me (also the cheap tier... im personally not interested in the things added to the pham tier... only the name ).

I'm SO happy that the patreon version has no bleeps, it's so annoying not to be able to hear them curse. It takes something away. Even if it's to hear them say clit. My brain wants 100% clarity since it still can't process the notion that they are actually in a relationship.

Also is it me or the video quality is superior on Patreon? When my Internet connection was good, it looked really good and HD (which YT videos sometimes don't... maybe it's my device idk).

Also 8:25 what was that flirting? And the breaking him in joke? GET A ROOM EWWW. I literally lost it when Phil went full uncensored mode. He made me so uncomfortable and I love him so much that is what we signed up for I guess. The child talk was SO unexpected but I feel like it does help establish the point their relationship is in and it might avoid many questions being asked (even though they've kinda said it for ages, like about the dog and them not feeling ready/only barely taking care of themselves).

Going back to the patreon, I agree with the "after 15 years they deserve it" discourse.
I think I saw some people point out in socials how ironic is it that now that they're together they're milking it for all that is worth after so much emphasis was lain on them trying to separate their "achievments" (weird word but you get me) from the ship... the thing is, it does seem quite fair. They did say in the confirmation video "the way it was always supposed to be" or something similar. According to that they always wanted to do this whole thing, no filter, uncensored, being able to not edit "every time they did something too gay"... and it makes sense. Of course they wanted to. Their appeal at the peak of their carreers was indeed their bond. Not only because of the gay thing, but they're SUCH a good comedic duo. We know that they're hilarious on their own and the content hardly ever felt lacking (still remember Phil trying out different Pringle flavours) but they are a really magical type of thing when they are together. So I'm really happy for them and I literally cannot wait for more.

Tbh, the minute I woke up, I checked IDB and discovered here that they had a Patreon. So without even watching the YT video, I immediately tried to find their Patreon and subbed. I've always wanted them to have one because I wanted to be able to support them directly that's not merch. I love their merch but I've got so much shizz in life already that I can't have more merch (although I did buy a hoodie, the dolls, the emo boob shirt, a mug, the 1st calendar, the 2 books, etc. back when I was still a student). Now that I'm a full-pledged adult (the last time I was here, I just graduated from law school) who has a full-time job, I'll gladly support their Patreon so I immediately subbed to Pham.

However, having been a student who had to scrimp meals to be able to buy merch, I can kinda get the thoughts of those who are kinda bitter about them putting things beyond the paywall.... BUT..... honestly, in the Phandom, nothing is ever quite behind the paywall. We've always found a way to be able to distribute stuff even if they were in DVDs (*cough* TATINOF *cough). So for me, instead of whining, the ones who couldn't pay should just try to find kind Phannies who don't mind sharing paid content. But I am not here to discuss whether that's good or bad.

I am loving the Patreon episode. It's longer, more unhinged, and no bleeps. I also love that Phil is just.... more.... I cannot articulate how he is more... he's just more. I hope somebody gets what I'm saying.

I also loved the Phasement tour. I hope the next part will also be uploaded with the 2nd episode.

I think some Phannies found one of the producers of this show. She's ukulayla on IG. But if we can't reveal that here, I'll gladly delete this part of my post. Basically she showed Dip and Pip in 3 outfits that aren't the ones for the 1st podcast. I don't think they would have already filmed the next podcasts due to them still needing submissions from us, so I am wondering what's up with the outfits. What do you fellow Phannies think?

Right it could be? I have a fiance who is from the UK and he is like this too, he's missed signs even more blatant than deppy, so being my slavic European self I wanted an explanation. He's a bit younger than them, so it could well be unrelated, but apparently the way a lot of boys get raised is to not assume this intent without very very clear statements (being asked out etc) and importance of clear consent. Mix this with a slightly awkward introverted personality who didn't get much romantic/sexual attention from their peers in their teens and you end up with adults who miss Anything that isn't a blatant "I want to fuck you specifically"

My only other podcast I watch is Captains Speaking which is always around an hour long so that's my only baseline to judging podcast, but you're right, it's also better for busy adult schedules of the long term phannies.

On a different note, I totally get the backlash about Phantreon - we have seen how quickly Phil's membership on YouTube got abandoned and I think that's what most people worry about. Plus I believe a lot of people assume they made their bank on the tour and have been living from investments from this and so. But let's be real, content like a podcast with a full crew and a rented out basement for a set is not cheap and if they aren't taking sponsors right away, it needs to pay for itself somehow. I'll cancel my sub if I don't think the content I get is enough and that's it for me. I understand a mortgage in London area on a whole phouse is probably absolutely insane and the numbers are beyond what we can imagine, so they probably can't afford to subsidise content that should be their source of income.
