Dan and Phil are so casual about the end of the radioshow. I really do think they were honestly tired of doing it and that's why they seem to give no shits.
Dan seemed drunk or something in that liveshow. Everything felt sarcastic and 100% done lol.

And he was obviously vague on purpose about what he did for Easter. I'm guessing he either went/celebrated with Phil, or was by himself.

Also, that "this girl I was with the other day" mention lol. I'm always inclined to think it's Bryony but who knows.

I just thought that Dan does tend to complain that he's lonely if/when Phil leaves him in the house alone - though on reflection Phil doesn't seem to have done that particularly recently so those mentions are quite old - which might add to the theory that the Lesters came down to them, or they both went up north.

Kind of mourning the radio show now, didn't want to believe that it was really going before, and sad that its ending doesn't seem to get much respect from them!

I actually felt like this was just more mellow from Dan. He seemed pleased with himself for having been productive and being able to acknowledge videos coming meant he wasn't dodging quite as many questions. It lacked that high anxiety vibe he has so often, which made it easier to watch. (If maybe a little more boring.)

Why I have this feeling that the new dinof video is going to be crunchyroll ad? He said something about Phil and anime and like he wanted to do the same thing when Phil's had expired (some discount idk what it was about) but it didn't work out and I assumed that he is doing it now. Don't take this literally because I had the ls as a background noise and I'm not a native english speaker so I sometimes overhear things.

Also pretty sad about the radio show, never forget.

Hi everyone! I'm a long time lurker who was too intimidated to post on the all-knowing old thread, but this place is a lot friendlier so I thought I'd give it a go!
I enjoyed the ls, it's always nice when he's chatty and gives us his honest opinions on things (could have gone into more detail on the status of the radio show tho... is this the end???) but did anyone else think he seemed even more freakin sassy than usual?
When it started I saw a post in the chat which said "woa someone's on their period" (lol) and had to agree he seemed zazzed in a bad way sorry just wanted to use that emoji hahaha
Maybe it's all the tour stress

It's possible, but tbh I felt like he was dodging. At least with answering questions about Easter and discussing the radioshow in depth (but I guess those are obviously hush hush topics). Idk, I can't explain it but in other liveshows he's been way more relaxed and happy. I guess this one felt cold in comparison. Maybe it has to do with the casual "finale" radioshow mention.

I'm so sad about the radio show, I only mangaged to listen to to it the last couple of times (if I was was lucky and my internet cooperated) and now they're just leaving without giving two shits about it sad times

I hope it's not a crunchyroll ad what sense would it make now? phils ad was ages ago. (i also don't care THAT much about anime but hey) i just want a proper dinof video ffs

I'm going to miss the radio show it was how I convinced other people they did more than just make videos on the internet. how many kanye songs will dan try to fit in?

I hope everyone is right in that they're moving on to something bigger or better. I just can't believe they'd be done with it entirely.

I kind of have a feeling radio1 weren't too happy with their decision to take such a long tour hiatus and perhaps weren't willing to accommodate them. Thus forcing them to stop their show altogether. I really wonder if internet takeover will continue with other youtubers...

Maybe it's just me, but I had the feeling that the whole show is ending and that is why they will have to pre-record the final show - which will be D&P one. That is how I understood it. How Dan said it, that they probably should pre-record last show, cause if the whole show is ending and they are the ones that started it, so the last episode should be them saying goodbye. Cause when they announced break from the radio show, if it would continue with other ytbers I don't see that much reason to record last episode - just announce that they won't return after all...

And about him being so casual - idk I have more of a feeling that they are already working on something new and the radio show is something old so he is not much bothered by it cause he may be more excited about the new thing which he can not talk about yet. So yeah, I hope that is the reason why he doesn't care about the radio show so much anymore.

this is the first dan liveshow i've been able to watch since october and i agree. i've come to associate his liveshows with that high anxiety vibe, so when i watched him today it was nice to see him being a little less high strung. less room to psychoanalyse but still, sometimes i'd get second-hand stress just from watching his liveshows.

Yes! He's definitely doing a crunchyroll spon but I'm interested in what video idea he'll present it with.. SKETCHES PLEASE. If it takes a #spon to get him to do some actual dinof-y content, then so be it.

I'm just chanting "bigger and better things bigger and better things" to myself while rocking in a corner. Somebody's going to want to latch onto them if they're free from R1 right? It's just a matter of who they want to work with and what they want to do... coughBB3?cough

Also, and this is just pure awful pettiness from me, if D&P are done with the radio, I want R1 to give the whole thing the axe. D&P didn't break down the internet doors for the likes of Emma & Luke to take over their gig, fuck right off.

Also I find it hilarious that he chose to read out "what was the last thing you did to Phil" question

Well they did whittle 52 two-hourly shows down to 12 one-hourly shows a year so them wanting to ditch the radio show all together is not majorly surprising. I do wonder if it's actually about the the tour like everyones assuming or if they were looking to leave anyway (especially as they left one show earlier then they had to for the tour)
Maybe the BBC was being awkward about accommodating them but considering the radio show is often pre-recorded and filled by other youtubers you wouldn't think them missing/prerecording two months would be that big of an ask. Of course maybe the BBC is looking to ditch the show all-together and this wasn't D&Ps choice.

Also yes very funny that he actually choose to read out what did you last do to Phil. He could have very easily ignored that.

Is it bad I'm not sad about the radioshow? Maybe because I've only watched a few, I suppose. Sorry to those who will miss it, I'm imagining greater things for them in the future!

I agree on the people who were saying he seemed drunk, especially after watching that SiTC video. I really liked his vibe, he seemed present and it was really nice to listen to.

I don't think they don't care/they're being overly casual. I think they're actually being professional about it. And trying to keep the idiot side of the phandom from declaring war on the Beeb.
I do think/believe/hope they have more stuff lined up with the BBC, what it is remains to be seen. I suspect the entire Takeover is getting 'd though.

No matter what I always love Dan's Live show. Some are better than others but I just enjoy watching his moods, the way he answers peoples questions.He was very much in a idgaf mood today. I kinda like it more when he has more energy I know not many would agree with me. He just was super laid back and didnt go into much detail about stuff. I dont know anything about Pokeman but I do love his passion about it and enjoyed his little rant. The chat was going slow and I was surprised when he read what was the last thing you did to Phil. lol (I cant find the cute emojis) oh now i see them but icba to put them in right now.
As manged said about being clowns for the game it kinda makes me sad but I do get it. I just wish Dan would not care as much and just film a gaming video that he enjoys and not have to put on a performance.
I am sad that it seems that they are done with the radio show but I feel like after the tour they have something else planned. I dont think they left BBC on bad terms.

If it is pettiness from you, it's also from me. I agree, it should end there. Don't see how much better it would be with other youtuber doing it. I hardly see half the commotion for the others than what D&P get (at least in social media), so idk if Radio 1 would think it's a smart choice to let go of them and leave it to the other ones...

-he seemed sort of "cold", maybe he was tired? Also why did he dodge so many questions? Why at the beggining he ignored the people asking about the film?
-that girl?...not that it says anything, I'm sure they have other friends not intenet famous that they rightly protect (when Phil said he will live the keys to a friend I also thought the neighboors surely have also one?)
-what LAST show? ...in that case The Internet takeover will be terminated? can't see how it could work without them, it's not easy finding in the london scene popular yt, with a crazy fandom and willing to put effort and work. :

I personally thought that Dan's attitude was just... bored. That kind of pisses me off, whenever youtubers or even big celebrities act bored at an event. He has a 45-minute live show where he sits in front of his camera and talks to people, and he chooses to act like he doesn't give a single fuck about anything. That drives me a little insane.
There are some moments, though, where he brings up something and I'm actually interested in what he has to say, but I'd say those moments take up about 10 minutes of the total 45.
