If someone ever were to out them, it would have to be done with "got nothing to lose"-kind of attitude. Can you imagine the shitstorm? It would have a huge impact on your career, and probably not a good one, no one wants to be around a blabbermouth and even if the phandom was happy about it they'd probably get really mad protecting their smol sweet cinnamon angel rolls of sunshine and rainbows. And while YouTubers might seem like a tightly knit group of besties, they might not actually be that good friends even if it seems that way on camera/social media. If they are together I really doubt that most of them have a clue about what's going on and they're just as lost as we are.

Now I'm just wondering what would happen if they got outed the way zalfie did. (a cheeky kiss on camera left in a vlog) I mean, what would the Phandom do? It could be a massive shitstorm of happy and angry fans - happy that they now "know" and angry because how could they do that to them. Or would they just keep it silent and make some excuse? And what would Deppy do? I mean... This interests me.

They'll do what they've always done. they'll ignore it. No excuses, no explanations, just ignorance. Pretty good tactic. If it blows up, they'll say something about it being the camera angle or something. Honestly, I think most of the phandom will assume that it's been photoshopped.

And later get it away from the vid. Although... I recall the vlog from Superwoman where they are possibly cuddling (or just veeeeery closely sitting watching something on one phone) in the backround and there is grave (is that a thing in english too?) silence from the Phandom... Almost no one ever talks about it and stuff. Interssting

fancybum & phamnotof, But the thing is with youtubers, or with people in general, if a person is gossiping to you about other people's business, you know they ain't trustworthy. And Dan himself knows that, do does Phil, I guess Felix knows that as well. So if PJ is telling Felix the thing that Deppy wouldn't want others to know, would Felix trust PJ and be friend with him? I think not.

I think there's quite a difference between 'gossiping' and 'casually discussing mutual friends in a private environment' though. If PJ/Soph are just hanging out with Melix and somebody mentions D&P, I don't see any need for PJ to put a guard up and change the subject or lie. They're all friends with each other. If I were writing fanfic this scenario seems plausible: early days of PJ/Felix friendship - PJ mentions D&P in passing - Felix makes a joke about delusional shippers - PJ goes 'uhh actually' - Felix goes 'oh whoops' - and everybody goes on with their lives because it's not really that big of a deal offline. Then they all hang out together, and everybody just knows they're all coupled off and act normally because it's normal and these people aren't in high school.

Dan and Phil put so much effort into avoiding vlog cams for so many years, if they really out to all the youtubers, they will be naturally assume that people will out them for the views, because they all already know, and they didn't out them already. Plus there are gonna be anonymous youtubers posting in GG saying that phan is common knowledge in youtubers blah blah. The fact deppy are so discreet means that not many people knows.

That just seems like paranoid thinking. It's not impossible, but what kind of garbage person would you have to be to do that and also alienate yourself from the entire community in the process. It wouldn't be worth it. Other people are keeping things about their lives private - if somebody intentionally outs somebody else (or tries to) for 'the views', they can just nail their own coffin shut. They'll be cast out of the community because they'll have just demonstrated that nobody can trust them. (Like I could see an Onision type of person trying that, but they wouldn't even be involved in the community to begin with, and therefore wouldn't have any workable info with which to out anybody in the first place).

People I assume to be aware of their private lives have nothing to gain from doing that. Does pewdiepie need the views or attention from outing anybody? Or Anthony Padilla? They have literally nothing to gain and therefore no outright reason to be considered untrustworthy. They do shut down more around smaller vloggers (Evan...) because obviously he's not somebody they trust and has outright demonstrated that he can't be trusted. Because of that, I don't think they're willingly 'out' to all the youtubers, no. But there's enough gossiping and secondhand information that everybody most likely assumes it to be true whether they've had firsthand confirmation from D&P themselves or not. I think it's a thing that everybody 'knows', but also knows not to talk about it.

I'm pretty sure Jack doesn't know, and if doesn't, Hazel is more less likely to know. If Jack knows, he won't be almost out them twice, he would be saying "youtube changed, it used to be about creativity, not hot guys dating rumor" and shit like that. First time he did that in Dan's liveshow he was joking with Phil and following Louise's teasing at Phil saying "Phil was texting his girlfriend", and Jack followed by asking "boyfriend?" If he knows, why would he ask that cuz Phil's boyfriend was sitting right next to him. And the second time in Louise's vlog, Jack say "you are making out with..." and Dan cutted him saying "Not me and you (making out)", my guess is Jack was trying to make a phan joke but Dan didn't like it. Again, if he knows for sure he wouldn't make such a joke he would avoid phan topic or help hide phan.

Again this is all just my opinion, but those types of uncomfortable jokes always feel like the person making them is trying too hard to seem casual about phan. They're essentially trying to double-bluff, like "if I joke about this even though I know it's true, the viewers will think it's not true, because otherwise why would I joke about it so casually". Which seems like too many mental gymnastics, but oh well. It's the impression I get.

Something I found interesting in that group liveshow is Dan asked Jack and Tom if they were gamers (and then what games Tom played), so they obviously weren't that close at the time (late 2013?), so it's possible Jack didn't know for sure then. But then again they had already known each other for years before that so now I'm kind of talking myself out of it being impossible.. No, I still think they all know.

I think they're beyond the stage of panicked denials and fabrications these days. If anything ever did happen that looked pretty irrefutable and unexplainable, I think they would straight up say: please respect my privacy (because of course they'd address it separately), I don't want to talk about it, it has nothing to do with my channel, etc. And that would pretty much end the discussion. On their end anyway, obviously the rest of the internet would freak out forever, but fans would respect their boundaries as much as we do now..

Don't know that it would be a good idea to point out an insecurity of someone who's had self image issues in the past. Not a fan of doge face but if that's how he feels comfortable I won't be one to tell him not to pose that way.

Would be very interested to know if Tyler knows. It seems like something he would have the tact not to ask as someone who's LGBT. Then again he did try to make Connor Franta's coming out about himself so maybe not that much tact.
