I'm actually intrigued about the Club Penguin video, mostly because I have basically no idea what Club Penguin even is and the idea that Phil also had never played (visited?) it makes me think I'll enjoy 'learning' with him.

Club Penguin must be a 2000's kid thing, if that's even a thing. Everyone in my age range (about 13 to 18 year olds) know what is.

that was quite possible the worst video I've ever seen from them. the whole point of seeing them play club penguin was seeing them react to the world's lore, the customization, and playing actual games. Seeing them shout to themselves and call random ten year olds hoes and say "fuck", just for the lolz, and Dan knowing fully well they'd get banned, is possibly the most obnoxious thing I've ever seen.

If I was a casual phan, I would be like "wtf" and probably unsubscribe. There was absolutely no effort put into this, they were just frankly annoying, there was nothing redeemable in the slightest, and I can't be told otherwise. I unliked it, I hated it so much. This was such a wasted opportunity, I hate being that person who says "They haven't played MY game properly! You didn't do this right!" but you know what? They didn't even PLAY the game, so I have the right to bitch about how poor this was. And now the website is down, so what's the point?

TLDR: don't even watch it

Dear god they were awful at making friends, I'd avoid that little dude like the plague too. All the emotional blackmail and threats if he didn't get his way tsk tsk. If my penguin kid, was rampaging around a virtual world like that I'd have to have a serious talk to them about how it's appropriate to go about making friends. Game did nothing for me, but I did enjoy their bratty rampage through it. I'm too far up their butts to genuinely not like it.

That was pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. I kinda loved their different approaches to "making friends", Phil wanting to tell the person about a kipper in his pocket, versus Dan aggressively threatening to stab himself with an icicle. It was a complete shitpost of a video but tbh I don't really have any interest in watching them take the site seriously so I don't mind.

I was literally laughing out loud at the end when they got banned. I full on loved this video, and thought it was hilarious how they were desperate to make a friend. I've never been on Club Penguin before.
Phil at 15:02: 'tell her I have a kipper in my pocket, she's hungry' was actually the highlight of the video. His mischievous face gives me life.

Dan has never said his Mums name on any video (even despite him featuring her in one) so I assume it was in following with wanting to keep his family details private.

ironic for me bc this is one of my favorite gaming videos deppy has done, besides the mark of oxin. i think its bc i did the same thing on club penguin when i was younger lol. i laughed out loud so many times during this video. i really really hope they play neopets, webkinz (bc yes it is still up and i still use it), or habbo hotel. esp habbo bc that was a HUGE part of my childhood. i would spend hours upon hours on that in elementary school lol. it was fun.

They are much more open about Phil's family online than Dan's. Phil has filmed videos featuring his mum, they called her for the gaming channel before, and her name is already widely known and frequently mentioned. Dan's mum's name is not something he has never been publicly mentioned. For whatever reason, they have set different privacy boundaries for Dan and Phil's families. The exchange in this video was nothing unusual, they were just sticking to pre-established boundaries.

Now that I think about it you are right, he has never stated his mum's name on either of his channels. So that was the reason for it.

I had no idea what Club Penguin was, so I was really curious and LMAO I laughed so hard. Like, watching them trying to make friends and getting rejected every.single.time was priceless, they were so bad..and so relatable. (Also, keep using "us" and "we" in the conversations with the potential penguin friends MIGHT not have helped in the process, just sayin'..)
I think this is one of their funniest videos on DAPG, definitely one I will rewatch when I'm feeling down.

Well there we have it. I'm either getting old or am just stupid. Or both, both sounds right. 5/6 yes, that is the correct age! (Sunday school sounds moderately terrifying, at that age I think I watched Winnie the Pooh on the weekends.)

The PhanguinEXTR... thing. I was internally cringing until they brought the website up and then had a mild freakout because DAMN that's a nostalgia trip. Used to love that game when I was around 9/10. Definitely got anxious talking to virtual people too (not too far from the truth now) I loved customizing the igloo. I was lame.

Glad they had a little fun with it. Phil made me laugh the whole time, his comments about the Kipper were brilliant. Got a bit tedious towards the end, the whole video being based around making a virtual friend, people are not that welcoming on there. Not much else to say apart from Phil looked really nice.

I personally loved this tbh I probably would have done the same. There's only so much you can do in CP until even a 10 year old gets bored and tries to get banned for teh lulz. The club was also so crowded it may have been full of other older, nostalgic clubbers coming to have fun before the site shut down. They were so bad at making friends, I lived

000dia000, i think i understand where you're coming from although i personally didn't dislike the video, but as for the interactions with other people -- i was actually glad that they went on it like this because imo obvious trolling was the only way not to make it weird. as it is, i didn't feel like they did any "harm". the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was dan calling the one person a "ho".

as for the video itself, i personally thought it was funny -- probably mid-2000s nostalgia's playing a role in there. i didn't mind them not taking it seriously/playing games because i'm wasn't actually invested in the game. not my fave (but also: any video succeeding mark of oxin and potato stamps would have had a hard time), but it also had some funny moments imo.

Dan has mentioned him in an old Dailybooth (thanks to Oqua for telling me that earlier haha).
