This is why I love visiting IDB after every vid... I like to see if anyone spotted anything I missed the first time. I'm hopping in the trash can with you on that .
Do you think Dan really patted Phil's thigh, or it was a tap or Dan reaching for something?
The gif makes it seem like a pat/touch but in the video it moves much faster and Dan's expression is slightly distracted.
I hadn't seen the gif--my impression was from my initial watch of the video, and I watched back that part a few times. I recognize that they reach in front of each other a lot to fiddle with the keyboard and stuff, so I agree it could be that. But in that context, that particular movement seemed like a pat to me, to go along with what Dan was saying (and, who knows, maybe he looked away on purpose so we wouldn't notice ).
[offtopic]What a totally awesome post for my *editing tips* rank! [/offtopic]

I don't think I believe the feeding part. They seem very sensitive to their public image. If I saw two people doing that in public, in a crowded theater - I think I'd vomit on the spot. I can see them sharing popcorn, but "feeding sweets?" Nope.
I don't find it that hard to believe. They have fed each other multiple times in vids that get watched by millions.
That is for work, which is why I'm thinking it was made up. That's basically PDA - and fuel for the Phandom.

They need to install a humidifier, or run some vaporizers 24/7. My lips (and heels) normally get destroyed in the wintertime, but so far this year, it hasn't been a problem - although it has been warmer than usual and rainy (vs. snowy.)

Didn't Dan call Kanye's behavior "problematic?" Maybe that's Danspeak for cray-cray.

You see that as doing it for work, while I saw it as something that they do naturally and then decided to leave in a vid. So it wouldn’t surprise me if that is just a thing they do.

Kanye I feel like (a few years ago at least, he is on worst behavior lately) is more deserving of the title "problematic" than Felix. Kanye did crazy shit that wasn't okay, and he was horrible at expressing himself, but in a sense he was trying to do the right thing, he was just an idiot about it. He was one of the first rappers to point out how homophobic the rap community can be, the whole "George Bush doesn't care about black people" moment is a perfect example of him expressing himself awfully but also being correct and endearingly honest. Obviously these days in the past year it's been different but I think by then Dan #unstanned anyways.
PEWDIEPIE on the other hand is saying the n word and being ignorant. He isn't being crazy and unpredictable and trying to stand up for the right thing (or anything for that matter) he's just being a dick.
Again as someone who's painfully unconfrontational I get why they wouldn't actually start shit with him, but I REALLY wish they ignored him all together because YIKES.

I think it is, it's possible to be friends with/love someone whilst acknowledging they have problematic behaviour for some parts, although to be fair dan likes filthy frank and given felix is currently turning into an annoying parody of him maybe he thinks the 'edgelord' humour is funny no matter how far it goes and how offensive it gets. Felix is clearly bored and far too comfortable and if he hadn't just rented that office I'd say he's trying to see if he can get his YouTube channel shut down because he hasn't got the balls to just quit.
[offtopic]Does anyone know how much that firework effect costs? I'm sure I've seen them mention it before a few times and I think I remember them saying it was a price that was fairly cheap like less than $10 and is this just an ongoing joke that phil is thrifty?[/offtopic]

I remember him saying it was £9. It's a shame he's not going to use it again from overdoing it, it's very pretty.
I'm surprised people on tumblr or twitter are kinda silent on the pewdiepie thing and I'm glad people are openly discussing the topic here!
Logged in for the first time in months to comment on this because I'm salty.
As a jewish person of color I'm really disappointed in Dan and Phil. It felt like a slap in the face. And I don't wanna see any more tumblr posts praising Dan for being "SO SOCIALLY AWARE and anti-racist!! cinnamon roll protect him!!". If he (they? Phil kinda said he was a feminist that one time) claims to be socially aware he must reflect on these things. I thought it's clear to them that they both should use their privilege to educate other privileged people and spread awareness.
I'm not saying they should call out pewdiepie, although I'm a firm believer that friends calling each other out is normal and it helps to keep the relationship healthy and friendship is all about helping each other become better people. I know they're all about NO DRAMA but if they are so determined to stay "no drama" they could've just not mention pewdiepie at all, but they choose to publicly approve of him. They choose to speak of him in a way that implies that his behavior is endearing and it's clearly not.

I take this as Dan is reaching for the mouse. Dan's mouse is obviously on the leftside of the pc and his reflex to look at the screen again is probably him doing something with the mouse. Just my take at it.

Thanks! It is pretty, I'm sure they will use it again at some point.

Yes, it does look like a mouse reach / attempt to wrestle the controls from Phil to me.
it doesn't look like a mouse reach to me, idk why he'd bother going under phil's arm to reaching it rather than just nudging it aside idk but of course he could grab it however he wants if so lol
i'm boggled that dan uses his left hand to control a computer mouse, i had to check the vid of them playing summer sports simulator lol. i'm left handed and i use it with my right, assumed everybody did bc of how the buttons are positioned

Yes as a left handed person I am also baffled by this. I guess it depends on the person but I'm so left handed it's almost crippling and I still use the mouse with my right hand.

I think it's Phil's thigh, because Phil is manipulating the keyboard/mouse and Dan's hand/arm is way lower than Phil's.
Dan must have just started using the mouse with his left hand as a kid and got used to it, I think. I'm also left-handed, but use my right for the mouse. I learned to use scissors with my right too cos the left-handed scissors looked a bit different and as the only left-hander in my class at age six I didn't want to stand out.

I am mostly left-handed and use the mouse with my left hand on my own computer. But I grew up with shared computers and of course these always had the mouse on the right, so I'm comfortable either way. The benefit of having the mouse on the left on your own computer is that no one ever asks to borrow it for a minute
As someone prone to various repetitive strain disorders, I find mousing with my right hand (when I have a mouse at all!) helps reduce the strain a bit by redistributing the effort. I gave up on lefthanded scissors and other specialized tools since you can never find them when you need them.
Lefties are constantly adapting to this righthanded world
Dan's video on the topic is not one of his most creative, unfortunately, imho. And why did he make up the word "lefthandedism"?

See i just cram my left hand into righty scissors lmao it's probably dangerous. I learned guitar the righty way and I'm forever salty because they were like "we'll just switch the strings if there's issues" but by the time I noticed issues I was already too used to playing righty guitar. The struggle is real.
Lmao my mom loved Dad's lefthanded video. I showed her like 5 or 6 years ago and she still talks about it.
