I enjoyed the video for what it was, but I expected more I guess? He definitely seemed to be in a hurry to film it and probably get it out in time. It's a shame, because the idea was pretty cool. It at least could've been longer.

It's fine though. Phil has put out some really good videos in the past few months, there was bound to be one that wasn't as good at some point. And we have Japhan 2.0 rn, which is providing us with content like Dan playing rock paper scissors on stage with a Japanese girl trying to whack him in the head. Maybe Dan wins today.

Yeah I felt the slight wasted potential of the video, too, it could have been better I think. Reaction stuff is rarely my favourite either, so maybe that had something to do with it. But it’s fine, he’s been putting out a good amount of content and I didn’t hate it. Maybe he was in a rush not necessarily because of spon-related things but because of generally being busy before flying off to Japan and wanting to put out a video so as not to make the gap between videos too large. I kind of skipped over the app spon because I do not care, sorry Phil, but I imagine you’ve already got the money anyway. Thank you for acknowledging the Holt-like energy. Oh and I did quite like him being stood up and away from the filming bg again, even if just for another filming background lol.

From the bts: I think I recognize the ropes/beads to the right of the green screen from Phil's space photoshoot with the glitter. Same space maybe?

A bit torn about whether or not I should comment because I don’t know shit but this would make sense with what I thought about him doing the liveshows in the same space as that merch shoot after him showing the props in that one ls a while ago. And then this video would have been filmed in front of the same green screen as the lives are, which would to me seem like the simplest answer anyway – but again, I don’t know anything.

Both of Dan’s tweets from today were so lovely and funny! He’s such a performer honestly, even if slightly nervous or awkward at times. Phil laughing and cheering him on as well, just really cute overall.

Sorry this is about to go a bit off topic or if it's already been discussed and I missed it. I'm in total agreement with everyone saying how much they're enjoying the IG stories of Japan! Also jot me down on the list of people thinking Phil's vid was sort of meh but I'm okay with that since he seems to be back on a more regular posting schedule. Also doesn't mean I won't give it a rewatch when I get home today.

What I wanted to talk about was merch. I'm in the US and ordered Dan's candle from the worldwide store since I'm not a fan on district lines and have had problems/heard of others having problems from them in the past. When I got home last night, my candle had arrived but the glass was completely smashed so, I emailed the link provided for customer service explaining it and asking if I could be reimbursed, if ordering off the US shop would be better for a replacement, etc. Woke up to a reply from them (honestly A+ on prompt customer service!) but it was signed "Daniel, Daniel Howell shop". I'm not totally familiar with everyone from the IRL team so my question is if anyone knows if they have someone else there named Daniel answering emails?? I find it extremely difficult to believe Dan wouldn't have outsourced something as simple as answering emails about damaged merch by now but with the way the email was worded, there's a teensy little part of my brain entertaining the idea it was actual Dan so wanted to see if anyone here knew anything and if I should completely embarrass myself by adding an aside in my return email saying that his coming out video has helped me start accepting myself as a queer man. Even if knew it was actual Dan who emailed, I still don't know if I'd do this but kind of want to entertain the idea of getting an opportunity to thank him for the impact that video had

I had to email them a while ago as well, and in fact I need to again, where is my hoodie, and the reply I got was from a Daniel, which made me lol but I didn't think much of it - it's a *very* common name (there are three in my office), and I'd say it's a less than zero chance that Dan is personally answering customer service emails, especially from Japan. (It'd be hilarious though.)

Phil's aunt Roz (of knitted hat fame) posted a cute clip of Phil's mum on insta, and I couldn't help but think how pleased Phil will be to see it when he wakes up tomorrow, being so far away. And yes, it'd be amazing if Norman's babysitter posted a pic, both for us and for his dads to see!

Dan's audience participation video was such a lovely surprise! Despite how much he has talked about hating audience participation, a performer like himself actually makes for a far better audience participant than the average person.

Phil's video was... alright. Definitely feels like he got it out in a hurry.

Anyway, loved the audience participation bit. LOVED IT. Watched it several times and it always makes me smile like an idiot.

Re phil's video. Wasn't his best obviously, but given the circumstances i'll take it (the spon made me cringe a bit, but what can you do. Get that money boys). Also, loved the bts more than the actual commentary. The submissions were 10/10 phandom does not disappoint.

If you'd asked me a few weeks ago if anything would make the lack of pinof easier this November I'm not sure I'd have been able to give you an answer but honestly this is truly fucking satisfying. And I know as soon as they're home in a couple weeks and quiet again December might feel a bit melancholy but... yeah, man, idk, I think me being someone who is more a fan of them as people than them as content makers... this is peak quality content for me.
