Honestly I've gotten very invested in my own Sims but I haven't played Sims since my ex broke up with me and all my Sims are him and I because we played together and that was our thing and I digress but it's a sore spot as well and I've put aside some priorities for them. It's the unfortunate side effect of not having a life

But also it's super cute that they get invested in it too. It's endearing when they become involved in a character's own happiness and life

Does anyone remember Dan saying something big was going to happen at Dil's wedding in his last liveshow? (or the one before, I've completely lost track of time). I may have dreamt it (I'm really stressed out, I might very well have made it all up) but it did not sound like the 'good kind of big', more like something completely unexpected and leaning towards negative. Does anyone remember this by any chance? They look so fond and cosy in the photo that I'm seriously doubting myself.

I have to admit, dressing up fancy for a fictional, digital characters wedding is a strange blend for me between cringe and adorable. I suppose looking at it from an entertainment purpose it has it's reason though I had to resist the urge to cringe into a fetal position of "why are they like this?"

Dan said something crazy or big was bound to happen (future tense) at Dil's wedding, and that was a reason to keep living and slogging through life. I love that he has had so much positive feedback from the many years of content that he understands one of their videos can be looked forward to as much as new cake flavors or a vacation lol.

I love that photo, looking forward to this. It's so long since I was that invested in my own sims, but I did love throwing a wedding, decorating, inviting their friends and doing cake, speech with champagne flutes and then watching them all dancing.

So I was lurking on phanantiproof (I know you lurk on here Ren hi ) and she was talking about how their manager controls (more like suggests) a lot of their actions for them to stay relevant. I know their manager suggests a lot of things for them, but how much do you guys think they listen? Is their manager the one who told them to start shipbaiting? How much does she actually do for them? This has been on my mind for a while.

First off I don’t think they shipbait, so I can’t say anything about that. For the rest though, I don’t buy that anyone is controlling them. Dan and Phil are notorious control freaks, and there is no way they will just listen to a person that is telling them what to do. I really can’t see it. Sure they might have suggestions, but it’s still up to them what to do with that.

But they at least have to listen to a few things they say. Dan and Phil also care very much about their reputation and being relevant. In my opinion, they shipbait a bit, and do a lot of fan service but we won't go into that. But what I'm thinking about is their manager the one who suggests doing certain things to make a certain reaction out of the phandom? How much power does she really have?

I really don't think they have to do anything, unless it's in a contract which they signed (and they are not that stupid).

i'm so bored with them rn tho, i hope the big thing that'll happen in 2-3 weeks gets me back in

I sometimes do not get people in the phandom, people complained about the drought during the USA tour, which I got. But now they are back to their back to posting quite a lot (certainly for them) and we have the live shows back and people are bored. I don't get it. What do you want from them? (genuine question)

I get that a few members of idb are bored but I don't see how this reflects their fans as a whole? The second book, tours, return of regular content seems to have made twitter/tumblr fans more active if anything They're sharing more now... random selfies on instagram and the like which as far as I can tell is creating more discussion and interaction.

Plus, the Pokemon Go hype has died so I can't expect them to be churning out too many more PGo vids unfortunately since those videos can't be getting loads of views. I think this is the reason they didn't get the same amount of views as quickly on the second vid compared to the first.

Yup, PG has eclipsed - too bad Dan's cosplay outfit hasn't arrived yet / made it into a video - but I think it will.
